Hey everyone.
This week I finished Twilight Monk
This is a brilliant Metroidvania with so much polish that it sits up there with the best of them. It really does tick all the boxes The combat is weighty and feels nice amd chunky
This game also sounds amazing with some great music and sound effects and the graphics are gorgeous. Each area is different and some of the backgrounds both artistically and musically are top notch. There is a top down overworld where you travel between each location that has random battles ala a certain fantasy game.
I highly recommend it.

I also bought Anyaroth: Queen's Tyranny which I look forward to playing.

I have my Switch 2 MarioKart bundle pre-ordered (I'm glad I live in Australia and don't have to jump through hoops to preorder consoles) so I'm playing the waiting game. I hate this game.

Have a great weekend everyone

If you're after a highly polished awesome Metroidvania I highly recommend Twilight Monk .
This game ticks all the boxes. Beautiful graphics, amazing sound and awesome gameplay. I just finished it and got 98% completion and it took me 16 hours. Looks like a much better game than this imo.
It plays perfectly on Switch, amazing considering the graphics are so beautiful.

Hey everyone.
The last couple of weeks I finished Cave Story+, enjoyed it.
My copy of Elliot Quest arrived so I've been playing that, excellent combination of Zelda 2 and Metroid. So much Nintendo love too, a cat named Link, a hidden Chozo statue, and heaps of other nods to Nintendo's games like Mario etc. Great Metroidvania, highly recommended.

Also finished Fearmonium. This is an excellent Metroidvania with some great Cuphead inspired graphics. It has some very unique takes on the usual MV movesets too and some great sections that break up the action. Recommended to MV lovers like myself.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Hey everyone. I finally got power back on Tuesday after the cyclone. Had a few trees come down, front gate that weighs 500kg+ was blown over and my shed gable came off but other than that we survived. We got 434mm of rain in 3 days as well. Still cleaning up slowly but surely.

In the meantime I kept on playing Cave Story+, got a bit further.
Also played a bit more of Skelethrone on NG+.

Bought a few more games this week, pre-ordered Nocturnal Collectors Edition and Elypse Collectors Edition off Pix n Love.
Bought Elliot Quest physical copy this week as well which I look forward to playing.

Have a great weekend everyone

Hey everyone.
This week I beat the last boss in Rogue Legacy 2 but I'm far from finished.
Also started Cave Story+, loving it so far.
Also went back to Skelethrone in New Game+, it is such a great game.
Ordered some games this week.
I ordered :
Rusty Rabbit
Catmaze
Lost Epic
Ender Magnolia
Nocturnal Collectors Edition
Elpyse Collectors Edition

Also, since cyclone Alfred has hit us we've had trees down, front gate blown off and heaps of debris to clean up.
Now we're meant to get 800mm of rain.

Edit: We've had no power for two days and still no sign of when we will get it back so no gaming for me this weekend.
Stay safe everyone

Hey everyone.

This week I finished Morkull Ragast's Rage, I enjoyed it. Not groundbreaking but still enjoyable.

I also got further in There is no Light, this game is brutal. Enjoyable but I needed to take a break.

Speaking of, I took a break from it with Rogue Legacy 2, and just like that I was hooked again. This game is excellent, I only have one boss to go.

My brand new sealed copy of Cave Story+ arrived yesterday so I'll probably get into that soon too. Never played it so I'm really looking forward to it as I've heard nothing but praise.

Have a great weekend everyone.

@Li_Bae
Hey, thanks.
Metroidvania's are my first choice genre, but after that I just browse through a few sites and find games that I think I'd be interested in. I then do review searches on at least 5 different sites so I get a broad idea off each individual reviewers opinions and watch trailers and yt videos to see if it is what I would like. I then reduce my wishlist accordingly and pick what ever is on sale. I also love the cross genre of the Metroidvania like Dark Devotion or Astral Ascent that mixes rogue like elements into it or games that mix rpg elements into them.
This site here is very good

Sorry for the long winded explanation.

Hey everyone.
This week I finished Skelethrone Chronicles of Ericona. A very good Metroidvania in the same vein as Blasphemous. Really enjoyed itl, took me around 40 hours to beat.
I absolutely recommend this to those that love Blasphemous.

Also getting further in Morkull Ragast's Rage, slowly but surely.

Started There is no Light.
Man, this game is hard, like really f.......g hard. Love the art style and the gameplay rpg loop is addictive but it loves handing you your backside at the slightest mistake.

Played the demo of Rusty Rabbit and really enjoyed it so I'll probably put an order in for a physical copy.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hey everyone.

This week I finished Laika Aged through Blood, 100% all side quests and all weapons and upgrades done. Put in over 235 hours into it and loved every minute. Some amazing bosses that make you look tiny in comparison. Amazing game and clearly one of my favourites.

Also near the end of Morkull Ragast's Rage, I've enjoyed it. Not amazing but still very good.

Also started Skelethrone: Chronicles of Ericona. This reminds me of a mix of Blasphemous and Last Faith but done by a smaller developer. I'm really enjoying it, some of the bosses are super hard but I've beaten them. I'm playing on hard because I hate my hands 😜

I will add that I also put in an order in through VGP and bought Silver Axe, The Messenger, Tevi, and Beyond the Ice Palace 2. Can't wait for them to arrive.

Have a great weekend everyone

Hey everyone.

This week I've mainly been playing Laika Aged through Blood.
I'm near the end and to say I've enjoyed it would be an understatement. I've already put in over 170 hours and I've done all the side quests, got all upgrades and all weapons and upgrades. Already my favourite game and the year has only just begun.

I also started Morkull Ragast's Rage after my CE arrived and I've enjoyed the short time I've played.

Have a great weekend everyone

I'm playing it atm and have to agree, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing. It needs a Collector's Edition bundled with a soundtrack CD asap. It is beautiful.
My family heard me playing it and asked what the songs were I was listening to, it is that good.
I'll add something that the reviewer didn't even mention, you can collect cassettes on your journeys that let you listen to the songs on your cassette player whenever you want, and they're worth listening to.
The gameplay is some of the most original since Yoku's Island Express.
It mixes motocross with gunfights superbly. It is difficult but rewarding at the same time.
Highly recommended

Hey everyone.
This week I got further in Rogue Legacy 2, I'm about half way through. Thoroughly enjoying it, great mix of Rogue lite and Metroidvania.

I started Laika Aged through Blood.
I love this game, the music and art is absolutely beautiful. This game is quickly becoming one of my favourite original Metroidvania's alongside Yoku's Island Express.

Also started Morkull Ragast's Rage after my CE arrived from Playasia.
Great game so far.

Have a great weekend everyone
