This is a shame since I've never heard a good thing about the switch version

"Nintendo has a busy slate" sounds crazy to say with no big titles and only 4 games listed for a brand new system. They desperately need a direct and some good looking games

I cannot believe the last one sold 4 million. The Zelda name does a ton of work I guess

Going to kill the specialness of Directs if they use it for stuff like this at 9am eastern time. Just say 'We're debuting a new trailer' since that's literally all they did and said they're working on the music. Don't call it a Direct

Getting what they deserve at this point for ordering landfill fodder when we're already overrun with plastic waste

$20 for this is not even slightly tempting to me personally

Nintendo really needs another direct soon. Basically nothing in the pipeline but Tennis and Pokopia

I personally hate that this is coming out. Adds zero value to the top tier of NSO because I'll never buy the needed accessory. It also means people who could be working on adding to the library people will actually play will be doing this instead. Not to mention the environmental impact of selling a hunk of plastic no one will get more than a few hours of use it if before it sits on a shelf and ultimately one day goes in a landfill

This is as barely "technically green" as you can get and the eye test I would say reads more blue

It's not a good game. It's the worst in the series by a mile even if you ignore the batmobile sections, which you can't because they are required and awful. There's basically no reason for anyone to play this game in 2025. Play asylum or city or origins even and have a much better time

I think having the character be scared and having me be scared are 2 different things. In 7 when I was trying to hide from Jack Baker and he walked thru a freaking wall it scared me. Had nothing to do with who my character was. Doesn't matter if I have a gun, what matters is do I feel kind of hopeless

I liked the first Control. The rest of the announcements are not interesting to me

@DreadfulDragon you're entitled to your opinion. I think the Hollow Knight series is ok at best and bad at it's worst and would prefer Metroid be nothing like it

@DreadfulDragon a much more apt comparison would be if you heard Russia figured out a way to weaponize something in Cuba and you went there to stop them. The odds of you coming across others similar to you would be pretty high probably. You think of space as some big place but in the Metroid universe it is able to be traversed in the same way we can travel between countries. Samus is not out in a galaxy by herself

I'm not far enough in to give a rating but I want Myles in future games. The idea that an adult human should have zero contact with other people like some fans want is goofy to me

I just picked this up with a voucher after getting Prime with one as well, so I'd be happy for it to get an upgrade before I play it

The question is do I get vouchers and then upgrade Prime? Problem is that might not actually be a good deal when you consider the other games I would want have probably been on sale at some point and would've been cheaper to buy individually

@Yoshi3 the Prime games in and of themselves are pretty separated from the feeling of the true series

I've never been excited for this because they are not making a sequel, they are making a completely different type of game with some familiar characters. It's like saying Dr. Mario is a sequel to SMB3

Be perfectly ok if they just made 2D Metroid games instead.

I like the controller but I have major issues with snap back, where if say a boss in ninja gaiden was on the left side of the screen I'd turn to attack and when I let go of the stick my character would turn to the right

If I didn't play the demo I would have considered this on sale, but now I know it 100% isn't for me. I've never been unsold on something so quickly. That's not too say anything of it's quality, just that I don't have any desire to play this again

Regardless of how much effort went into getting these all together the games are not worth anywhere near $60 at this point. I grew up playing 1 thru Ultimate but I wouldn't pay that to play those again and the other titles are real bad. Not to mention who has any desire to play game boy versions

So is the Switch version not getting the update?

The town building stuff made this so tedious

Kind of funny that a company so many people love like FromSoft would benefit from reaching out to a company many people hate in Ubisoft for advice on how to port games to the Switch 2

I'm confused how this game could have been in beta or early access or whatever and they still ended up on these hard to see font colors and extremely tiny lettering on some menus. Fun game with almost nothing in the UI done even slightly well. Even the level select is not clear

The Prime games are not anywhere near as good as the true mainline Metroid games, but I'm looking forward to playing 4. Might end up being the first time I ever use the controller in mouse mode

While I've never been a game pass guy, the huge increase in cost it just had really hurts the value of this as well I think

Right now it doesn't look like something that's less than a year from release, even with only 12 characters. I can't imagine a lot of people are looking to spend any real money on a game with such a small cast before being expecting to shell out more

It would have to be A LOT better than the original to be anywhere near an 8 to me but I'll never know because the original left such a bad taste in my mouth

I did not care for the demo for this. It felt awkward and like there was not great ways to avoid getting hit and the weapons didn't feel fun or that different from each other

Since my Sony electronics (TV, PS5, and PSVR2) were the only things that died in a lightning strike I'm glad this is shaping up well for Switch 2

Finally getting around to Brothership

Nothing divisive about the music though, it slaps. The game gets goofily difficult and wildly unfair toward the end which makes it not very good

Would make sense if you weren't punished severely for not going back to where you died in these games

I'm worried because they're barely showing it and not even bothering to do voice over in the trailer like literally every other game in the direct had. It's been a middle of the direct dump a couple times now, and I personally think the prime games already aren't as good as 2D Metroid. But I'll get it and I'm sure get some enjoyment from it. Thinking of getting game vouchers for it and then paying the $10 upgrade cost but not sure what I'd use the other voucher on. Maybe Kirby and then get the $20 upgrade for that

This has been added to the game voucher list. Considering buying the pair and getting this and Kirby and the Forgotten world. Save $20 as opposed to Jay buying the switch 2 versions outright
