Not 100% convinced Metroid comes out this year. I’m sure they want it on the next system so maybe it launches with it, but we’ve only seen a small amount of it once

Loaded release schedule, lol. 3 games and no one who likes those franchises would need to buy a system to play them, so that’s not going to help them move more systems

So many bad choices made at the start of this. Dr. Mario has absolute bangers and they give you the game boy versions. No punch out which is one of the most iconic Nintendo songs ever. The Zelda songs are just the ocarina short clips or whatever is in the Switch games which are the least music centered ones.

Played this on PS5 and it was bad on there as well. Froze multiple times when I’d try to use the outside the book powers. The actual game itself left much to be desired as well

I am playing on PS5 so I can’t speak on the Switch version performance but the game is not very fun. It’s charming but there’s not much actual game to it

I’d have gotten it on the Switch anyway if it wasn’t free with the PSN plan I’m on

Interesting this is just the refresh console price. What will the PS6 cost?
Also inflation pricing comparisons are so dumb. If you asked someone in 1995 or whatever to come up with $250 it still seemed reasonable. The actual number still weighs into the value proposition in people’s minds. I wonder if consoles will find a way to be like cell phones where you get people paying on installment plans with upgrade options every few years

I honestly expected a lot more times to be glitch related because when I did the events I hadn’t seen the news about Nintendo stopping you from doing so many. While it still felt unfair when i saw this i also never expected to be super close to the top anyway.

The best Atari games were made by Activision and they are really the only ones that hold up at all

Absolutely insane price. I’m kind of confused on who this release is even really for. It’s not a bad game but i can’t imagine a lot of people are desperate to play it again and most of the people who are probably are the kinds of Nintendo fans that still have a wii or wii u to play the original.
The only thing that makes sense is that Nintendo realized if all their remakes are $40 then the vouchers have no value

Do we think the bits that were supposed to resemble gameplay were actually gameplay? I wondet if the whole thing wasn’t just pre-rendered footage. I don’t really have a problem with just the way it was put together and with a vague release window has me wondering

Donkey Konga I sleep, Jungle Beat I eat. Game is so underrated as i think most people missed the incredible amount of depth and replayability when trying for high scores

This is a solid 7/10 game. Worth the $15. Nowhere near a game of the year type of game.

No one will see this buried comment, but does anyone know if Sports Story got any updates that made it better? I was turned off from buying it because the initial reviews were not good, but I don’t know if it’s one of those games that got better later

I don’t mind 30 fps at all, but the idea that it’s a sacrifice for the better graphics is kind of crazy. It’s 3 console generations removed from the original. The gain in console power should cover the graphical upgrade

2 of my maybe 12 total wins have come during cups and amazingly both were on my first match in the cup. Gotta love an instant 100 points instead of grinding my usual 4-5 matches to unlock the theme

Be a real shame for it to win game of the year. It’s fun and worth $15, but with so much of the gameplay requiring luck it isn’t more than a little time killer. It’s a very solid 7 out of 10, but a perfect game for streamers because they can just chat the whole time they play. Anything that’s can catch on with streamers will sell

Let it go. If in 10 years you can no longer play some mediocre game, that’s ok. There is no loss to society when non-seminal piece of work is lost to time. The truly important things will last. All you’re doing is creating waste on a planet past it’s limit of plastic pollution

Nintendo hasn’t had enough to fill out a year for a couple of years now, this will just really be the bottom of the barrel. Looking forward to Thousand Year Door but there’s really nothing else coming before the new system

Jungle Beat has so much depth that most people probably never even scratched the surface of. It’s not a great game if you’re just trying to get to the end if the level, but if you’re a perfectionist trying to keep a combo going it’s arguably the best game ever with DK. So fun

I’ve bounced off Hollow Knight a couple of times. Everyone praises it but the punishment for death is enormous, the lack of direction is frustrating and is made worse by everything looking the same. Maybe there is a great game in there, but it starts so terribly i don’t want to give it a shot. Both Guacamelee games are far better and I’d love a third

Melee’s unique target games for each character were more fun than any solo player content in any other game by a long margin

Hollow Knight is just straight up not fun at all to start playing. I hear such great things about it all the time but I’ve bounced off it multiple times because it does so much wrong at the beginning of the game. Way too high of a penalty when you die and commits my biggest gaming sin of wasting a player’s time. ‘Oh I died at this boss, let me spend 8 minutes getting back there’, no thanks.

If you are 13 and practicing NES Tetris 4 hours a day then you do in fact need to touch grass, same as if you are 13 and practicing football 4 hours a day you should try reading a book. A single hobby shouldn’t consume every waking moment of your life.

The Wrestlequest review got me wondering if Sports Story ever got patches or updates to make it better

Shredder’s revenge just showed how badly that style of game has aged. The first NES game and game boy games should be higher

Baldur’s Gate feels so incredibly niche to me, like what percentage of people want a dice roll game? But I think Eldin Ring is also incredibly niche and it won (and I think would have an easier time winning over TotK than anything this year)

I’m pretty surprised by these scores honestly. It looked so easy in the previews that it would be boring. I think it’s 100% fine for it to be easy since the characters and style lend itself to a game for children, but reviewers rarely seem to take the target audience into account when scoring, so I wonder if this is actually a decent game for anyone

I have this mental block with these games that if i lose pikmin it will then make it even harder as i go and so i never get anywhere near completing them because i quit after a bad try.

Sadly i think they are putting me off of pikmin the more of it they show. I have never gotten very deep into a pikmin game even though I’ve bought 1, 3 and 3 deluxe and there is so much added here i feel like it will definitely be overwhelming to me. I bet it we’ll be great for fans of the series

Because Rouge Legacy 2 launched on steam for $20 and has been down to that price multiple times i refused to pay the Switch asking price. Of course i bought it in this sale and the next day it was announced as free on ps plus this month

I haven’t played Sands of Time since it came out but my memory is that it was completely fine and that’s about it. I think I’d rather play this than a remake of a 7 out of 10 type game

You should take out the line about the fight being similar to the Hyrule Castle boss, as that spoils a part of the game that has nothing to do with this, regardless of similarity

Now this is the kind of game to buy physically and never take out of the packaging. Might be pretty rare in 25 years when people are nostalgic for the Switch and trying to complete a collection

I was reading over the shop closing guide but assume no one will check comments there anymore. If I cleared the data off my 3DS and sold it, then if I buy a 3DS in the future can I connect my account and download the games I had? Or once I lost the ability to transfer the account directly from one machine to the other I lost my purchases?
