Sadly i think they are putting me off of pikmin the more of it they show. I have never gotten very deep into a pikmin game even though I’ve bought 1, 3 and 3 deluxe and there is so much added here i feel like it will definitely be overwhelming to me. I bet it we’ll be great for fans of the series
Because Rouge Legacy 2 launched on steam for $20 and has been down to that price multiple times i refused to pay the Switch asking price. Of course i bought it in this sale and the next day it was announced as free on ps plus this month
I haven’t played Sands of Time since it came out but my memory is that it was completely fine and that’s about it. I think I’d rather play this than a remake of a 7 out of 10 type game
You should take out the line about the fight being similar to the Hyrule Castle boss, as that spoils a part of the game that has nothing to do with this, regardless of similarity
Now this is the kind of game to buy physically and never take out of the packaging. Might be pretty rare in 25 years when people are nostalgic for the Switch and trying to complete a collection
What trips me out is the “if i want something i should be able to have it and if the company won’t sell it to me I’m justified in stealing it” mindset.
Video game preservation is not important. Art can be lost over time (and 99% of these games couldn’t really be classified as art regardless). Time moves on. Society these days is far too beholden to the past
Wind Waker Link actually drove his sword through Gannondorf’s skull in a way that made me say “holy ___” the first time I saw it. No other Link has done something cool enough to make me curse
I was reading over the shop closing guide but assume no one will check comments there anymore. If I cleared the data off my 3DS and sold it, then if I buy a 3DS in the future can I connect my account and download the games I had? Or once I lost the ability to transfer the account directly from one machine to the other I lost my purchases?
Gaming is so goofy sometimes. We have people setting world records on super Mario bros with a keyboard and it being acceptable because “not everyone will access to nes controllers forever” but of course much rarer arcade machines that even if they exist would likely be in infinitely worse working order than 40 years ago when they were made must be used for validity
I’m nearly 40, been skating since I was 12 and in my time with the game it’s too hard to be fun. I spent hours learning tricks in real life, I just want to have fun when I play games. I do have a friend who loves it, but he’s likes when games are stupidly hard
I don’t play Pokémon and don’t do rpgs so this was a very slim year for me. I would like to get Bayo 3 and Kirby but haven’t yet. No big games on the switch for me and the Indies I got like Cursed to Golf were disappointing
My biggest disappointment this year was Cursed to Golf and it isn’t particularly close. Seeing it in the Nindies videos made me interested in it and it just is not fun at all to play.
I literally just finished 2 today after finishing 1 last week. 2 is so much more enjoyable to play. I actually didn’t really care for 1 to be honest. It’s like a 5-6 out of 10. 2 is closer to an 8
Bioshock Infinite isn’t bad because if it’s bad story, it’s bad because it’s pretty dang boring gameplay wise compared to the other ones. Can only carry 2 weapons at a time and upgrade machines are so few and far between you either use the same weapons all game or don’t use upgraded weapons. The vigors aren’t very interesting and 90% of the game is “shoot the police guys in blue or the other people in red”. It’s more COD than Bioshock
@sketchturner infinite is by far the worst of the 3. I don’t even personally really consider it a bioshock game it’s so removes gameplay wise from the others
I know Nintendo games never drop in price because they always sell well, but that absolutely can’t be true of 1,2 Switch. That game should be like $5 now or free. Make it part of the upgraded subscription or something. I have never met anyone in person who’s even played it
There is no game or gaming item I have I’m super connected to. I was pleased to find someone on Craigslist selling a lot of GameCube games about 3 years ago that included Chibi Robo. They wanted $15 for the lot. I handed them a $20 and said they could keep the extra. I couldn’t believe I got not only the game, but all the inserts and case (plus about 3 other games) for so cheap. It’s also my favorite GameCube game and one Nintendo needs to release again
This article definitely needs an explanation of the Arceus catching mechanic because I’ve never played it and that tweet video is wildly confusing. Did they only catch 1 Pokémon with all of that?
I do think it's interesting that Nintendo always seems to take so much heat for this, but I can't play PS3 games I bought digitally on my PS5 and those games aren't for sale on the PS5 either. There's no way to buy PS1-PS3 games on the PS5, and people are upset they can't buy games 10 years older than the oldest PS1 game on their Switch. And if Nintendo did offer those games for sale, people would say, "I bought these games 6 times already, why would I have to pay for them again". Can't win for losing.
I don’t think anyone playing Tetris 99 is clicking on your box to attack you. People may be going for KOs which target people who’s boards are high, but that also is a big gameplay mechanic for the top level players who intentionally stack their boards so they are targeted and can get KOs. It’s so random I don’t know how someone could feel personally attacked while playing.
Repentance takes all the fun out of the game and really makes the early game even more of a slog than it already was. Just shoot and shoot and shoot forever until maybe you get an item that isn’t worthless or hasn’t been nerfed to death
This is a series I never personally understood the love for. I’m not saying anything negative about people who do like them, I just found them to be incredibly repetitive with unfun tasks. I was 18 when 3 came out so i was definitely in their target age group. Played about 15 minutes at a friend’s house and felt like I experienced everything the game had to offer. What I’ve seen since hasn’t changed my mind. Hopefully these run well on Switch for those of you excited for the release
Been terrible so far other than Banjo Kazooie. I can respect putting Minecraft characters but not excited by that. The rest are incredibly lame. I guess there are very few big name characters who weren’t already in it but I mean Terry? What a waste of a spot
I’m replaying it but the problem is I now have enough knowledge of tricks to sequence break but not enough knowledge of the game to know when it’s useful
I was 18 when GTA 3 came out. Played at a friend’s house. Was fun for about 15 minutes then I was over it. I don’t think Rockstar has made a game I thought was actually good but they all sure are hyped to hell. I guess it’s how people who don’t like Nintendo feel when Zelda games are released
I think the more interesting size difference will be 1 pound switch vs 1.5 pound steam deck. Half a pound doesn’t sound like a lot but holding it for hours could add up
The best version of the Castlevania 2 track would be the main music from the FDS version with the "drum synth" noise from the NES. FDS misses having any driving beats like the NES has
What's wild to me is the woman who writes Ms Marvel took credit for coming up with it when it was added to the dictionary while also acknowledging she read it in Photoshop or some program.
Their "fix" hurts consumers more than anyone. If I'm looking for a quick game sometimes something that's a buck is worth it, even if it's not a great game. And getting something for free because I bought something else is also a pretty sweet perk to me they are now getting rid of.
It's obviously not at all consumer friendly but at least to their credit Nintendo was upfront about when it would be pulled. Better that than all of a sudden they stop making it
