@Anti-Matter We get it. You don't like GKC. No one is asking you to buy Switch 2 console or games. I have a PS5 too (in addition to Switch 2) but I don't mind GKC or keep complaining about it. And if you own multiple consoles, you probably can afford a memory card.
Yes, 1st party lineup is weak, but this is some of the best 3rd party offerings in years. I have a PS5, but I am more happy because I can finally play these on the go anywhere I go. When I play a game on PS5, I don't complain that the game is multiplatform. Finally, we have a Nintendo console with proper 3rd party support. And 3rd party console exclusives are becoming rare these days.
Resident Evil Requiem and Village, 007, Elden Ring, Indiana Jones and Yoshi for me (In that order, Requiem being the most wanted game). Surprised that Yoshi is the only first party that I am interested in for 2026, unless Nintendo has something else up its sleeve. Exciting times to be a Switch 2 owner for 3rd party support.
3rd party Direct would be cool. My dream announcements:
NHL
Read Dead Redemption 2
Bunch of Microsoft games
Silent Hill 2
Metal Gear Solid Delta
Would be cool to see Switch 2 editions of games like Witcher 3 and Doom Eternal
@AussieMcBucket could happen. Mario Odyssey was the last 3D entry and that was in 2017. That's 8 years ago. Super Mario 3D World was a port in 2021, but it was a port with brand new DLC (Bowser's Fury). Thinking we are overdue for a new entry.
I wanted my Switch 2 to be more powerful and able to play PS4 and PS5 3rd party games. And I got exactly that. I don't want gimmicks. But Nintendo has not released many first party games, that people will run out to get Switch 2 for. They need a brand new 3D Mario game or something on that level, system sellers and they need a new Direct to get people excited.
They need a new 3D Mario ASAP. Tennis doesn't exactly sell like hot cakes. The only current first party game that I am looking to get is Bonanza. That's is for current 1st party games. I am actually more interested in 3rd party games like Assassin's Creed, Cyberpunk and Resident Evil games.
@Spider-Kev no internet by choice? Or just not available in your area? I don't know if you live in middle of nowhere, but sometimes I wish that I would live in some mountain range.
I just got Switch 2 and it is such a great graphical leap over Switch 1. I can still play 1 games with backward compatibility. But Switch 2 all the way.
Amazon warehouses use robots taking away jobs. We use self checkout at a grocery store. Consoles are put together by machines. Technology is in every part of our lives. AI in video games is inevitable whether we want it or not.
I haven't even noticed. I never used them on Switch 1, but options are always good. I wonder if Switches send information back on what buttons people use the most, and maybe there was not enough widespread usage?
I got Switch 2 today. It is amazing. Such an improvement over Switch 1. I only play Switch 1 and 2 in handled mode and Switch 1 games look so much better on 2. I have not purchased any Switch 2 games but can't wait. I did purchase Zelda BOTW $10 upgrade. Will try that next
Just charge $10 more for games on memory cards. Meaning offer a discount to GKC adopters. And companies won't lose money on memory card editions. Every one wins, problem solved
@John_Deacon Umm, I immigrated to United States as a child and had to learn English. Stop making assumptions about people. I am very much liberal but still think this was not worth a post.
Faster loading is always a big plus for me. The review does not mention how it looks in handheld mode from Switch 1 to Switch 2. I only play Switch in handheld mode.
Blows my mind that some folks will be getting the inferior Switch 1 version just because of physical release. I would rather have the better Switch 2 version.
@Dang_69 Or they could just erase an older game on their memory card to make way for that new game. Not everyone keeps every single game on their memory storage.
I don't care about Pokemon but I don't see game key cards as an issue. Sony and Microsoft are going that way too. All 3 companies would only do digital purchases only if they could, but they want that physical storefront presence especially during Christmas present buying season. These game card releases are not for everyday gamers, but for clueless parents/relatives who want to put something under a tree. This is a perfect solution.

Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Sales Have Got Off To A Slow Start
Not a popular opinion here, but I actually like hand holding to some extent. I hate it when I am stuck and don't know what to do next.
Re: Round Up: The Final Previews Are In For Mario Tennis Fever
Not the Mario game that I want. It will sell but not as big if it was a 3D platform game

Re: Poll: What Nintendo Switch 2 Games Are You Most Excited For In 2026?
@h3s Not all of them are old 3rd party ports. Requiem, 007, Lego Batman , Pragmata are some of the new 3rd party games.

Re: Super Mario Galaxy Movie's New Trailer Shares A "First Look" At Yoshi
All that Direct fuss for movie trailer. I would love a game centric Direct. Maybe to announce a new 3D Mario game.
Re: The Next 'Super Mario Galaxy Movie' Nintendo Direct Arrives Sunday, 25th January
What I need is a Nintendo Direct for games. Not the Direct that I am looking for
Re: Random: Mario Wonder's New Box Art Might Be The Ugliest 'Switch 2 Edition' Cover Yet
I don't care about cover art. It's the game and DLC is what matters.
Re: Armature Studio, Founded By Metroid Prime Devs, Has Been Shut Down
They were great at ports. The beginning of their end was when they started working on VR games.

It is neat that the game is coming but do we really need a second 1 hour long direct on this one game?
