Best GTA clone and best Simpson's game ever. Would love to see a remaster. Also release 2008 Simpsons from PS3 on current consoles and other older Simpsons games.
@Chowdaire #2 is Minecraft, not released in last month. I did mention Mario Golf. And let's be honest, if the 1st or 3rd party releases were stronger, the games you mention wouldn't even make this list in the first place.
A lot of old games here, speaks volumes that Nintendo has not offered anything great lately besides Mario Golf. And doesn't everyone have Minecraft at this point?
I was at work all day. Getting this now, how does this beast upgrade compare to the old Switch? Oh wait, next to none. 🤣 hilarious how the fervent cult like fans defend Switch here. I own Switch, One and PS5 , so I am not tied to blind loyalty here. 😜
Instead of doing Collections of let’s say 10 games for $20 regular price, they are changing $8 a pop. $3 regular price should be the max for each. Very overpriced for games this old.
As an owner of all 3 systems, Nintendo won E3, but still a very disappointing E3. Sony did not bother to show up. With Microsoft buying up every studio in it's path, you would think that they would have a bigger show, but rather disappointing showing. And then there was Nintendo. The most exciting announcement was Mario and Rabbids Spark of Hope, but that was announced over the weekend. Metroid looks kind of average. I thought that the Nintendo would have some AAA announcements, but most of their 1st party games have been average lately, not of AAA standard. When I bought Switch, I had AAA games like Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey . They should have ended with a Mario Odyssey 2 announcement. Last 2 years have been terrible. 2019 had Luigi's Mansion 3 and maybe Astral Chain. 2020 had Animal Crossing. It seems like Nintendo is coasting and has been coasting. And can we move on from Super Smash DLC announcements? And there is this disturbing trend towards Cloud games. Yeah, there was Covid but Sony somehow managed. Rest of 2021 looks kind of meh right now. Yes, yes, I have BOTW2 to look forward to in 2022. I don't know, I wanted to be blown away. I expected many more game announcements, but it ended up being about 11 games in total announced and that is including 3rd party games. Maybe I set my expectations too high.
Switch Pro
Mario Odyssey 2
NHL game from EA
Borderlands 3
Rockstar classics
Zelda BOTW2 being released in 2021
Metro Prime 4 being released in 2021
Microsoft releasing another game on Switch
And unlikely:
Microsoft and Nintendo merge together, drop Rare Replay same day. Mario coming to Xbox.
the article is missing trophies and achievements for reason to replay or continue to play. I have continued to play or replay many PS or Xbox games after finishing the main campaign just to to get more trophies. I wish Switch had them, as they add to the game.
Rumors are that the docked mode will get most of the improvements, any word on rumors for handheld mode improvements graphics wise? I ask because I only play Switch in handheld.
I don't care for Amiibos but enjoy the Zelda games. Why would Nintendo do this and why are they given a free pass when folks pounce on companies like EA for similar shady tactics.
No wonder Nintendo is not in a hurry to release Mario Kart 9, Mario Odyssey 2 and others. If people continue to buy these older releases and remasters , it’ll take forever before we see the follow up sequels. The way the same games continue to sell, one would think that every Switch owner would already had all of these by now.
The only ones that I am interested in that list is Bayonetta 3, Breath of the Wild 2, and Metroid Prime 4, but those are TBA and probably unlikely to come out this year. I love the Mario and other Nintendo remasters but those are supposed to complement new AAA games; I am ready for something new like Mario Sunshine 2. And stop giving Nintendo a free pass for Covid. More and more people are vaccinated (in US), and there are less and less Covid cases. Sony managed to release Ghosts of Tsushima, Spiderman Morales and Last of Us 2 in the middle of Covid. Yes, they had delays too, but they managed those 3 games and Ratchet and Clank is around the corner. All AAA games.
There is a fervent following, that is for sure. But the question we should be asking, besides the fervent fans who would buy on day one, if released, would this sell more than 1 million copies?
Back in the old days, I liked manuals, especially when I wasn't familiar with control layout. These days, with intro levels, internet, and game menus offering this information, I have no need for them anymore.
Yes, loved it on PS2. Almost got it on PS4, will be great to play on the go on Switch. I was beginning to wonder why THQ Nordic wasn’t announcing more games for Switch.
Spyro Trilogy on Switch. I am stuck in getting one of the dragons in Spyro 1, so I moved on to Spyro 2. Also playing New Super Lucky’s Tale on Xbox One. And still trying to get PS5.
@Mr-Fuggles777 It is free on game pass, but if you have the Xbox but don't have game pass, how much will it be a year from now compared to Switch version? also, it is probably on game pass for a limited time.
Somehow I sense that at some point the Xbox version will be cheaper than Switch version even though it coming to Xbox much later. Love that Switch tax.
So much hate for Sports games here. There are former PSP/Vita owners who jumped over to Switch because Sony didn't have a follow up handheld. Those folks, me included, may be more interested in games like Borderlands or Madden. Personally I want NHL to come to Switch so I can play it on the go.
It is interesting to to see how the most fervent Nintendo enthusiasts defend mother Nintendo at any cost. It is like the abused spouse syndrome. I have a Switch, and this this a crappy move by Nintendo by taking down Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the digital store. People defended Nintendo before saying, don't worry, these will probably be sold separately on the digital store, you'll still be able to get it. Now, the defense is, of course they are going to take it down, they did say it was limited. I don't want to feel rushed to buy a game, I should be able to buy it on the digital front when I am ready to buy. And there is no copyright issues on Mario games, just a bad move by Nintendo to try to rush folks to buy it now for full price and to drive up resell prices on cartridge version, which then make Mario even more desirable for future games.
This article mentions that per PS4 trophies, only 49% completed Fallen Jedi. That is actually a high completion percentage. But it makes me wonder if this is why Nintendo doesn’t want trophies, maybe they don’t want folks to know how many people actually complete a particular game.
That is because Nintendo did not have a huge lineup of AAA games (not including remasters) and they wanted to entice folks to buy Switch (not including diehard Nintendo fans who will buy anything from Nintendo) and to show longevity of Switch.
So when people complain about lack of original new games coming from Nintendo, are we now going to count this lackluster looking game as one of the originals?
This is only for the first 6 months of 2021, so BOTW 2 and Metroid are not going to be mentioned. What I want: Mario Odyssey 2 announcement Zelda HD collection Exclusive GTA for Switch, or Rockstar games. Really would love a AAA game (like Call of Duty or GTA) that is geared towards the adult audience. Batman Arkham Collection
What I don't want but which we will probably get: Another Pokemon or Smash announcement (Nintendo mentioned another Smash DLC but it is time for Nintendo to move on to something else). Cloud based games.

@stipey Simpsons on TV targets adults and teens. The game targeted those same teens and adults, not children. It was perfect

Monster Hunter is the only AAA brand new game (s) so far on this list. Everything else is a port, remaster or niche

$10.50 for a cartridge? Does that include the plastic case? No wonder companies prefer digital. I wonder how much a Switch cartridge costs?

I think Smash has had enough support. Time for Nintendo to move on to something else and use the resources on another game.

Nintendo knows that it has rabid fans , who will defend Nintendo at any cost. That's why theY can get away with a $60 price tag for this game.

This is a fantastic game for anyone who has not played it. I played it on PS4 Pro, really good. But cloud version for Switch? Yuck.

I hope that we don't get too many "cloud versions" of games, although, I am afraid that will become the new normal.

Switch Pro
Mario Odyssey 2
NHL game from EA
