Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Nintendo Direct At E3 2021?

Dman10

As an owner of all 3 systems, Nintendo won E3, but still a very disappointing E3. Sony did not bother to show up. With Microsoft buying up every studio in it's path, you would think that they would have a bigger show, but rather disappointing showing. And then there was Nintendo. The most exciting announcement was Mario and Rabbids Spark of Hope, but that was announced over the weekend. Metroid looks kind of average. I thought that the Nintendo would have some AAA announcements, but most of their 1st party games have been average lately, not of AAA standard. When I bought Switch, I had AAA games like Zelda BOTW and Mario Odyssey . They should have ended with a Mario Odyssey 2 announcement. Last 2 years have been terrible. 2019 had Luigi's Mansion 3 and maybe Astral Chain. 2020 had Animal Crossing. It seems like Nintendo is coasting and has been coasting. And can we move on from Super Smash DLC announcements? And there is this disturbing trend towards Cloud games. Yeah, there was Covid but Sony somehow managed. Rest of 2021 looks kind of meh right now. Yes, yes, I have BOTW2 to look forward to in 2022. I don't know, I wanted to be blown away. I expected many more game announcements, but it ended up being about 11 games in total announced and that is including 3rd party games. Maybe I set my expectations too high.

Wish list:

Switch Pro
Mario Odyssey 2
NHL game from EA
Borderlands 3
Rockstar classics
Zelda BOTW2 being released in 2021
Metro Prime 4 being released in 2021
Microsoft releasing another game on Switch

And unlikely:
Microsoft and Nintendo merge together, drop Rare Replay same day. Mario coming to Xbox.

Re: Talking Point: Do You Replay Games?

Dman10

the article is missing trophies and achievements for reason to replay or continue to play. I have continued to play or replay many PS or Xbox games after finishing the main campaign just to to get more trophies. I wish Switch had them, as they add to the game.

Re: Nintendo's Upcoming Release Schedule For 2021 Looks Positive, With Room For More

The only ones that I am interested in that list is Bayonetta 3, Breath of the Wild 2, and Metroid Prime 4, but those are TBA and probably unlikely to come out this year. I love the Mario and other Nintendo remasters but those are supposed to complement new AAA games; I am ready for something new like Mario Sunshine 2. And stop giving Nintendo a free pass for Covid. More and more people are vaccinated (in US), and there are less and less Covid cases. Sony managed to release Ghosts of Tsushima, Spiderman Morales and Last of Us 2 in the middle of Covid. Yes, they had delays too, but they managed those 3 games and Ratchet and Clank is around the corner. All AAA games.

Re: EA Job Listing Suggests Madden Could Be Coming To Switch

So much hate for Sports games here. There are former PSP/Vita owners who jumped over to Switch because Sony didn't have a follow up handheld. Those folks, me included, may be more interested in games like Borderlands or Madden. Personally I want NHL to come to Switch so I can play it on the go.

Re: Soapbox: There Might Be A Bright Side To Mario's March 31st Doomsday, After All

It is interesting to to see how the most fervent Nintendo enthusiasts defend mother Nintendo at any cost. It is like the abused spouse syndrome. I have a Switch, and this this a crappy move by Nintendo by taking down Super Mario 3D All-Stars on the digital store. People defended Nintendo before saying, don't worry, these will probably be sold separately on the digital store, you'll still be able to get it. Now, the defense is, of course they are going to take it down, they did say it was limited. I don't want to feel rushed to buy a game, I should be able to buy it on the digital front when I am ready to buy. And there is no copyright issues on Mario games, just a bad move by Nintendo to try to rush folks to buy it now for full price and to drive up resell prices on cartridge version, which then make Mario even more desirable for future games.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 17th February

This is only for the first 6 months of 2021, so BOTW 2 and Metroid are not going to be mentioned.
What I want:
Mario Odyssey 2 announcement
Zelda HD collection
Exclusive GTA for Switch, or Rockstar games. Really would love a AAA game (like Call of Duty or GTA) that is geared towards the adult audience.
Batman Arkham Collection

What I don't want but which we will probably get:
Another Pokemon or Smash announcement (Nintendo mentioned another Smash DLC but it is time for Nintendo to move on to something else).
Cloud based games.
