Re: Pokémon Pokopia Is Seemingly Nintendo's First Game-Key Card Release

Dman10

I don't care about Pokemon but I don't see game key cards as an issue. Sony and Microsoft are going that way too. All 3 companies would only do digital purchases only if they could, but they want that physical storefront presence especially during Christmas present buying season. These game card releases are not for everyday gamers, but for clueless parents/relatives who want to put something under a tree. This is a perfect solution.

If the game is available on a game key card, people complain and claim to boycott that game. But when a game is available only digitally (not physical or game key card), several break ranks and purchase the game as evidenced by Silksong. I think that the game key card is more for brick and mortar store presence than anything else. More of an advertisement. Yeah, some games like PT might be taken off the digital store, but that is a small percentage. And I will be too busy playing Switch 5 or PS8 to notice.

@KociolekDoSyta LOL. I kind of laughed when I read your arguement about no internet. I am sure that are some small scenarios of no internet, but it is not as hard to get these days. You can even access the internet on your Switch through your cell phone. Do you watch Netfilx or other streaming services at grandma's? Maybe it is a sign that grandma wants you to spend more time with her and not on your devices.

Stop pretending that you guys (gals) are collecting physical games for the future generations (like one of the letters talks about). If you have kids, they probably will be more interested in future generations console systems not the current ones. They might not even like video games. I have 2 grown kids. They both like the games that I am not interested in. And they play much less than I do. Your hoarder plan for future generations might just be yours and not theirs.

Re: Feature: 32 Games We're Dying To See On Switch 2

I have a PS5 for the big screen gaming but I love playing in handheld mode. I have Portal in addition to Switch but it ties me down to having to have a connection for streaming. Switch 2 would be perfect to bring those PS5 (or Xbox) games on the go. And before someone says Steam Deck, not interested in that.
