@jsty3105 I agree with you on that. Maybe Nintendo's attention got diverted to the movie. Past Directs were just more exciting because usually there were tons of announcements and it felt like there was something in there for everyone whether it was an Indie, Partner or a main Direct. I love my Switch 2, but I want to be more excited about what is coming in the next 6 or 12 months.

@jsty3105 I think you are blinded by your loyalty to Nintendo. With Switch 1, some games were announced last minute, but many, especially with 3rd party games were known for many months in advance. We also had more Directs, Indie Showcases, etc. Now we get a Direct for exactly one game. In addition we got 3 Directs for the Mario Galaxy movie.

@jsty3105 and how did that work out for Wii-U? I would argue that Nintendo did a fantastic job at keeping gamers informed with Switch 1 games, but for some reason is not doing that with Switch 2 games, including 3rd party ones.

Nintendo fans are in full force here defending Nintendo. I think folks like me want a road map for the next 12 months and beyond, not just for the next 2 months. Also want to see same continued 3rd party support. I think Nintendo is in position to do that but for some odd reason doesn't want to reveal the games too early. I have a PS5, but prefer to play handheld on the road. If I know a PS5 or PS4 game is coming to Switch 2, I am going to not buy it on PS5 and wait for that Switch 2 version.

First party games have been great but nothing mind blowing. I think something like Mario 3D will fix that. Also, 3rd party games, I can see the release schedules for Xbox and PS5, but Switch 2 schedule is rather small. Need to fix that. Having said that, I love my Switch 2 so far

Great games for the next 3 months, but what about after? I want more, lol

There are some great games on Switch 2 but personally I think it's still missing that AAA hitter. I know others will disagree but that's just me speaking as a Switch 2 owner. I need to know what is coming in next 12 months for first party and also for 3rd party games.

@HalBailman from those, Yoshi, DK Bonanza, and Metroid Prime 4 for me. The other ones are not for me. Even with the games I mentioned, it just feels like Nintendo is missing a humongous game here, like Mario 3D. This game needs to push Switch 2 to it's limits. And more announcements for 3rd party games for the next 6 to 12 months.

This list should have 3rd party games as well. Maybe have a separate section for Switch 2 games?

So that's why Nintendo announced Star Fox the day before with a sudden announcement. To have good news along with some bad ones

Does this announcement mean no major Direct in the near future? I was hoping for tons of game announcements for the rest of the year.

The games on Switch 2 are good so far, but not ones that will have gamers run out to get one. A brand new Mario 3D game should do the trick. And perhaps a Direct to show the road map for the next 2 years for Nintendo games and also 3rd party developers.

I love Directs for new game announcements, but game updates could probably be regular news updates

Not my cup of tea. Waiting for a new 3D Mario, Zelda, Bayonetta, etc. Those are more in my lane

I always say codes in the box are more for space in a brick and mortar stores as potential gifts for birthdays, Christmas, etc. Never meant for fervent players on this site. Although it blows my mind how a digital game would stop a gamer from enjoying it.

I am always about storyline. If it's weak, I lose interest. Hogwarts Legacy has great gameplay but it's very boring to me. It also depends on the game. If it's Mario, I don't expect a deep storyline, but I do expect it with something like Zelda .

I would love even more Microsoft games on Switch 2. The more the better.

My favorite AC game. I hope it comes to Switch 2. I am hoping that ubisoft is not getting shy on switch 2 support.

The first movie was fun for nostalgia, but it was just ok if you remove Mario fandom. Have not seen the second one yet, but I imagine it's more of the same. Thinking the critics are right.

You are missing this option "when it is on big sale, 1 or 2 years from now". That's how I buy most of my games. Nintendo's first party games take longer, and usually don't go below $40.

@Anachronism even if I disagree with high prices, I would never steal (pirate) games.

Several people here have no problem buying digital on PC, but they draw the line on Switch 2. Very ironic, lol. I don't care if it's digital, physical or key card; although I have been leaning digital lately. Having said that, $80 seems a bit steep.

A little annoyed, but I will live.

About time . I am glad that I no longer have to pay more money for digital. Physical copies are costly. It costs money for the cartridge and the container. Not too mention shipping costs to buyer or the brick and mortar store. Free shipping costs money to the seller. And also having to pay brick and mortar stores their share of the profits.

All you need to know is that there are zombies. I don't remember the previous plots half the time. I don't think you really need to play these in order to enjoy them.

@RiasGremory Requiem is a humongous game yet it only managed to premiere at number 4 here. It's a fantastic port by the way. Yakuza, Cyberpunk, Assassin's Creed Shadows, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Star Wars Outlaws are fantastic ports and definitely not lazy ports. I am worried that 3rd Parties will shy away from bringing more games over.

Switch owners need to step up in supporting 3rd parties with purchases. While I love Mario, it's sad to see the top chart and the lack of support for those 3rd parties. Thats why PS5 is winning in console sales.

@HugoGED what the companies should do is give a price break for digital or key card releases but charge $20 more for physical card releases. This way physical games owners would still get their games and companies can get a better profit on the costly cards
