I know that Covid impacted game development, but Nintendo seemed to have gotten lazy this year after New horizons came out. I am not counting the Mario remasters. Sony managed to release two AAA games during COVID: Last of Us 2 and Ghosts of Tsushima. Might be hard to believe but not everyone loves new Horizons. Nintendo is at the top right now, I hope that they don’t get too complacent. I miss Nintendo Directs; I hope that Nintendo has some killer announcements this year.

$3.99 should be the regular price, not the sale price.

Wow, 18 games that are average or below average. Last week was the same.

PS5 would have more sales if more units were available. I have been unsuccessfully trying to get one since it was released.

I wouldn't mind if Sony or Microsoft merged with Nintendo. It would mean less consoles to buy.

I play . I now find collecting odd, we all have short life spans, just enjoy the games. When you are gone someday, your loved ones will sell off your collections or they will end up in trash. I used to collect when I was younger, but as I am getting older, I no longer collect and just enjoy the games.

Is this a good acquisition? I mean Next Level doesn’t own any original IP. They are awesome at making Nintendo games but employees come and go. I guess that they have an established environment to make games.

@NTELLIGENTMAN I did say one or two games are actually worth playing. By the way, Gradius 3 was a great game for it's time and I could never get far with the insane difficulty, not sure I want to play it again, now that my reflexes have slowed more with age.

Wow, that's a lot of garbage games. Switch gets tons of new games each week, but usually one or two are actually worth playing.

These sound great but I don't want cloud or stream versions.

Control has no place on this list. It is not a port, it is streamed. And I can’t bring it on the go.

This was a sad Switch year if you don’t care for Animal Crossing. Super Mario 3D All Stars was my highlight. Borderlands games and Hades were runners up for me.

How about rival console owners most likely to own Switch as second console? PS4 and soon PS5 are main consoles. I play Switch for on the go experience. It replaced my Vita.

The only games I want to hear announced from Konami are Silent Hills and Metal Gear Solid, even if it is just the remastered games of past entries.

I had this on PS3, but never got a chance to play it and got rid of my PS3. Might pick this up on Switch. I wonder if this will make its way to PS4/PS5.

@Razer Maybe you saw a different trailer than I did, but the trailer really makes the game look good on Switch.

Great to see Smash support but maybe it is time for Nintendo to redirect their Smash support staff to work on another non Smash game.

Any yet , other 3rd party games like Diablo 3, Doom 2016, Skyrim , etc are still $60

Good to see something other than 1st party and Minecraft here. I want to see 3rd parties succeed more here.

@Retro_Player_77 It is a shorter campaign, costed less to make, and did not get good reviews like Wolfenstein 2 did.

@w00dm4n Skyrim is currently on sale for $15.99 on PSN for PS4. It has been on a sale on PSN for under $20 several times in the past. There is no excuse for Doom 2016, Wolfenstein 2, and Skyrim to still be $60 regular price on Switch, especially on the eshop. They should be $30 regular price before a sale.

With the exception of the newer games, this is pretty much a repeat from Black Friday digital sale from last year. Doom, Diablo 3, Dark Souls, Skyrim , etc. had the exact same sale prices last year. Shouldn’t those games have a bigger discount this year?

PS5 will be my primary console. Switch is and will continue to be my secondary console/handheld to play on the go.

I bought Switch to play games on the go. Not interested in Cloud games on Switch. I play One and PS4 on my tv. I will play this game on PS5, which is replacing my PS4.

I hope that it is not another cloud game.

@ianl579 This is a no go for me. I play on the 1 hour commuter train ride. Wifi or hotspot is not an option.

I play Switch on my commute to/from work on the train. No wifi for me and we go through dead zones, so cell hotspot is spotty. Guess this is a no go for me. I am getting a PS5 so I guess I will have to play it on that.

@Ghostchip lol, I can play it on the big screen, but I want to play on the handheld on my commuter train. And no, streaming does not count.

I have been playing Saints Row 4 for the last couple of weeks. Not as good as Saints Row 3. I am playing it in handheld mode. Really dislike how the whole game takes place at night. The screen is too dark. Having said that, I am having some fun with it. Will probably play Mario Galaxy after I complete this game.

Mother 3 would probably sell 50,000 copies or so outside of Japan. But these 50,000 fans sure are vocal in their requests. I hope you all get it, just so I don’t have to hear anymore about it. I would rather see Nintendo throw money at EA and bring NHL to Switch, but that probably would sell just as much as Mother 3 or worse.

I only play Switch in handheld mode. Switch replaced my Vita. I play PS4 and One on a 4K TV

I already have a Switch. Cannot wait for PS5 (already sold my PS4 Pro). I will get xbox series X at some point in a year or two, so holding on to Xbox One for now.

I don’t think Nintendo buys companies. Maybe Sony should swoop in. Microsoft has been on a spending spree so maybe it could be Sony’s turn?

October and November are usually prime months for game releases in anticipation of Christmas. While there are some good games here, there’s really nothing mind blowing

Regardless whether this is a lazy port or not, it is a terrible idea to have a 6 month window to buy a game. Maybe for a physical copy but not for digital. There is no copyright issues here, because Nintendo owns Mario. It’s pure greed to pressure gamers to buy the game now, otherwise they miss out. I hope this is not how it will be from now on.

It better be backwards compatible with the switch digital games, I understand going away from the current memory card format, but they should allow the digital purchases to be playable on this new system

Looks fun , wonder if the Switch version will look as good as PS5 version.

Maybe he delayed it so it is released for Switch PRO, as the regular Switch will struggle running it?

@Blooper987 Sorry, I disagree. Modern Trilogy blows the original Trilogy away (well, I mean the first two games in the Modern Trilogy, they are classics).

I want Mario Galaxy 2 but I am more disturbed this collection is only available until March even on the digital storefront. Why would Nintendo do something like that, to make people buy this game in droves? To drive the prices and demand high? Terrible idea.

Why would the digital version also be limited? I understand limiting the physical copy, but digital limitation makes no sense.

There are some great games on this list, but it seems like Microsoft and Sony have more AAA 1st and 3rd party experiences this year and coming up, than Nintendo.

Hey Platinum, why not talk to Nintendo and drop this price to $40 regular price. It is a hit for you guys, but it is not selling on the Mario Kart levels.

Finally, this is what most of us want, directs to let us know as to what to expect. This was a good Indie Direct. Now if we can have a Nintendo Direct for first party games and also AAA games from 3rd party publishers 😀. heck, just give me updates on what they already announced. Keep me updated, it makes happy to look forward to Switch’s future
