It also had bundles listed with skus to each part to make it easier for the cashier to build the bundle at the register. They weren’t forced on us by any means, and weren’t pre-bundled (like they do online). I chose one of the bundles just to make it easier than saying I wanted a case and a memory card. Plus choosing the bundle got you a free screen protector, so that was a win.
As someone who’s worked with Nintendo reps in the past, not surprising. Working for Nintendo has its perks, but getting a day one launch system is not one of them! Awesome exclusive apparel though…. Oh yeah. They get some AWESOME jackets.
And I’m sure once demand has died down they’d get the option to purchase direct.
Heck even working for GameStop, getting day one systems was not a thing. You had to wait for everyone else to pre-order, then at the end of the day if there was stock leftover, you could clock out and pre-order as a customer. Seems to still be the case as I’d talked to a couple workers there yesterday and most of them had pre-ordered through Walmart or Best Buy. Local shop had 22 systems, 9 of which were regular models, rest were MKW models. I was one of the lucky handful, though truth be told it was odd seeing only like 10 people in line. Wii U launch the line wrapped around the store. Just less people pre-ordering in person now days I guess! 🤷
Doubt it would happen, but would LOOOOVE for Capcom to make native versions for S2 and moreover, give the cloud owners either free or cheap upgrades to native.
Everyone should keep checking daily tho, because there will be cancellations / glitched orders that get fixed so some pre-order stock will likely reappear. Also places like Walmart, Best Buy, GS, and Sam’s Club LOVE to do second wave bundle pre-orders where they toss in a bunch of accessories/games to kick the price up. It’s how I snagged my launch S1. So everyone should keep an eye out for those.
And yeah GS was 1 per customer for ANYTHING S2 related, including games and amiibo.
@Scarmucci Double check to see if you can add the item to your cart….. my Walmart app shows the regular edition still available to preorder, BUT if you try to add to cart it’ll actually say it’s outta stock
@Scarmucci Yeah the GS’s around here are only half the presence they once were (Springfield, IL). I use to work at the one nearest me back in 2013, and back then there were 4 stores within a 10 mile radius. Now there’s only 2 and I’m surprised (and thankful!) they’re still standing
Also insane your Walmart is still showing availability! Wally, BB, and Target all sold out in minutes for me.
Had no luck online thanks to the scalper bots….. but managed to snag a pre-order at a local GameStop today. Go to your local stores if ya still need to secure a pre-order!
SD Fan here, but not underestimating the Switch 2. Star Wars Outlaws says it all really. That game does not run on SD, yet they’ve got it running and looking nice on Switch 2.
There’s a handful of next gen games that have issues on Deck, and if we see those on Switch 2 then everyone should understand just how much extra tech the S2 has over the SD.
Star Wars Outlaws, Starfield, MH Wilds, and Wu Kong are the main titles in question that do not run on SD or require an obscene amount of tinkering to get running at all
One of those titles is Switch 2 bound. More over the main reason it doesn’t run on SD is because the entire game was modeled around ray tracing, and the only way to disable it is through the config file. Once you do that, the game will run, but look incredibly janky. The fact that S2 has built in RT support - something PS4, XB1, and SD just do not have - should be enough to convince people of just how much more powerful/capable the S2 truly is.
@Elitepatriot And when we played the original Gears of War multiplayer there was a win voice that sounded like it said, “Men, all men! That’s what I like to see!”
Apparently they took note as the GoW remaster on XB1 made that win voice MUCH clearer to say “Dead all DEAD!” 🤣🤣
While this seems confusing at first, this is the way it should be. Microsoft was absolutely brilliant for the Smart Delivery system, and Nintendo and other third parties should mimic that set up in the future.
On an unrelated note, since the cost of games is seemingly rising again, can we bring back color manuals as a standard inside physical editions? Honestly speaking, not having manuals at all is a prime reason why I’ve gone mainly digital. I miss those days….
@Discostew Yeah, which is why I was shocked to see it announced on Switch 2. Honestly had not expected any form of RT support on Switch 2 honestly. Which gives hope to its capability in running other titles which are harder to run on Ally/Legion/Deck.
@Vectrex that that it runs well on Steam Deck, and Switch 2 is on par power wise with better built in technology…. Yeah I have no doubts about CDPR’s ability to get 2077 running nicely on Switch 2 truthfully.
Witcher 3, while not as pretty as other versions, ran very nicely on Switch. It was the only version I 100%’d everything including DLCs.
The Switch 2 is on par with a PS4/Pro in terms of raw power, but it has much more advanced feature sets like baked in DLSS, that the PS4 never had access to.
Actually I’m much more surprised at Star Wars Outlaws running on Switch 2. That game has trouble on the Deck, and if they can get that running on Switch 2 then CP2077 is a cakewalk comparatively.
I’m curious if we’ll see Starfield, Avowed, Star Wars Jedi Survivor, or MH Wilds on Switch 2…. Those are all notorious for having issues running on Deck.
I do worry about the battery as well. Something that comes up with my Deck…. Most games I can manage a decent 2-3 hours. Some however, even my OLED model can only muster an hour and a half max
Considering CDPR commitment Witcher 3 and Switch, I have no worries about this whatsoever.
@kalosn I’m playing MH Wilds on Series X currently and it’s the first next game game I’ve seen run spotty on Series X. Doesn’t matter if I choose Quality, Balanced or Performance, there are some major dips here and there. Crazy to me considering the pedigree at Capcom and having played most MH Titles and a ton of Capcom games through the years…. This has got to be the first I’ve played of theirs with such jarring jumps in frame rates…. Shame. Decent MH title, I’d give it a solid 8/10 for an MH game minus the performance issues…. And a 7/10 when stacked against ALL games….
MS has proven that you can profit from both Subscription access to games as well as buyable copies between Game Pass and their store.
I’m a GPU subscriber and still buy many of the games I know I want to play / own. For me personally GPU is a way to test games first, or have access to games that are lower priority that I couldn’t afford alongside the titles I budget to purchase. It also gives me a “double dip” access where I can choose to buy a game on Steam or Switch but still have the Xbox version as well - like Avowed and Pentiment, bought the Steam and Switch versions respectively but still have access to GPU versions.
If Nintendo chose to release WW HD and TP HD versions it wouldn’t hurt their NSO+ subs in the least, and most of us would buy them. Having the NSO+ versions is just a boon for NSO+ subscribers, and even more so for the few that haven’t played them to test them out first, or for the ones that don’t care which version they get as long as they have it / prefer the originals.
Edit - what would be awesome, but unlikely, is if they released the HD versions and made it cross save between NSO+ versions. That way if you loose your HD cart, don’t have enough space to install, or one of your family members is playing the HD copy, you’d still be able to continue your adventure on the NSO+ version….
I own the game on Xbox, and Steam. Still have yet to play it, but will def get the Switch 2 version. Absolutely loved Witcher 3, and could get lost in CDPR games for hours.
@Warlenos Thanks for the correction! I couldn’t find any more data than what Google provided me, and I don’t personally own a Legion Go (tho I debated it!)
@skywake Yeah it wasn’t honestly about me thinking Nintendo was cutting costs or being cheap, rather than curious about what type of LCD they were going to incorporate into the system. Prior to yesterday’s reveal we knew nothing of the LCD or Dock capabilities.
Considering VRR has been around for awhile on the pc front, but only just recently (last 3-5 years) been adopted on consoles, it was certainly a welcome surprise during the reveal. I’ve heard such good things about it in the Ally reddit, and personally have not experienced it (haven’t been a pc gamer in 15 years until I got a SD last Sept).
Hell even TVs that support VRR haven’t been around THAT long. I’m rocking a Samsung KS8500 from 2017ish that doesn’t support it. I’m sure a lot of console gamers haven’t upgraded screens as 4k/60fps is enough for most.
Heck on Series X I’ve only got one game I know for sure supports it; Mh Wilds, and I can’t even take advantage of it.
So it’s less about biases I would say, more about knowledge of what it is and it’s availability to the common console gamer.
@skywake I’ll give ya two good reasons why people didn’t think of VRR or think Nintendo would embrace it. Firstly, Steam Deck and Legion Go don’t use it, but Asus Ally does. So as far as handhelds go it’s not widely adopted. And only on a $800 handheld
Secondly, and more importantly, I don’t think anyone expected a 120hz lcd on Switch 2, which is nearly required to make a more seamless experience. Which is why Legion (60hz) and SD OLED (90hz) don’t make use of VRR.
Maybe I shoulda opted for the standard model on registration….. I saw bundle, I thought “likely less preorders due to price and not everyone wants MK…”
@jon128 I hope we all get one and don’t have to battle retailers nonsense for them!
If Nintendo follows suit to Sony, Xbox, and Valve then as long as you’re in the register, you’ll eventually get one.
Edit - also didn’t mean for it to sound like a brag, just an ADHD explanation of why I think/hope I’m qualified. And the moment I get an email I’ll post here, but especially if it’s earlier than May.
@Oracles_fanboi to be fair Sony did this at first with PS4>Ps5 games…. A lot of games required a purchase of an upgrade to get the PS5 version at first.
CDPR was the first company to step out and say “nah we shouldn’t treat customers like that”, and announced Witcher 3 next gen upgrades would be free. Some other devs, including MS, followed suit, and soon Sony was the bad guy for telling the devs to charge for upgrades. Lmao.
For simple performance boost upgrades I agree with CDPR and MS, it should be free of charge and part of the original price of the game.
If you want to charge an upgrade fee, then there better be value to back it up. Like in the switch case making use of the new features - camera, mouse, etc.
Those features take a lot more manpower to implement, whereas something like performance can be a quick patch that enables dynamic res and frame scaling, as well as quick adjustments to enable certain disabled / lowered features like volumetric fog and lighting.
One thing that won’t be possible with simple tweaks would be to take advantage of the faster SSD/Express transfer speeds.
A good example would be PS4 versions of games running on Ps5. You get better performance and more stable frames, and slightly faster load times. But without a bespoke patch you can’t take advantage of the NVMe ssd’s super fast transfer rate for instant load times.
@Hero-of-WiiU Yeah I saw that, but I’ve been surprised in the past when devs decide to reward existing owners. Kind of a pain, especially to the wallet, to upgrade all my Switch games.
Like that would be the new version of virtual console nonsense…, was painful buying say Link to the Past on Wii, then 3DS, then possibly Wii U if you were unlucky enough to not do a Wii>Wii U system transfer or lost your account info….
@Gummisaurus Same. I don’t want to accidentally take a pre-order that someone else could use, but at the same time I don’t want to miss out. It’s so odd that the pre orders open the same basic dates world wide, yet NoE went ahead and let people know they were GTG and could just await their invite. Then NoA makes us consult the magic 8 ball….
@mazzel I’ll wish you the best of luck! And I get feeling left out, truly I do.
I’m not sure how bad scalping is in other countries but it’s a horrible issue here in the states. If eBay was anything to go by, about half ps5 systems were being bought by scalpers for resell at launch. Switch launch was nearly as bad, and continued for the first 2-3 years. PS4 and 5 here lasted about 2 years each before they were readily on shelves at stores.
Long ago, in Toys R Us and Babbages days, a pre-order was literally just that. You placed an early order and would receive your copy/system when your order came in regardless if it came in at launch or you just had to wait….
Now days all these retailers have allotted amounts that they can pre order, which is bull. It should go back to the way it was and there wouldn’t be a scalp issue except for in the small percentage that wanted whatever it was on day one. A large portion of us would just be glad to not have to battle scalpers, and to just casually place an order and wait for our number to come up. We gladly do it for restaurants/fast food, why not software/hardware?
@mazzel Your not exactly wrong…. But anyone who’s diehard fan will likely have the subscription.
Sony did the same with Ps5 after 4-5 months of letting the scalpers go ham…. I finally got a notification from Sony saying “hey, we saw you were subbed to Psn. For being a customer we’d (finally) like to offer you a chance to get a ps5.”
Heck with Xbox the only way I was able to get a Series X within the first 3 months without paying scalp fees was to do the Affirm credit option through Target as they had a separate piles of Affirm only Xboxes (this was nation wide and not just a Target thing, even offered on Xbox.com, I just happened to notice while at Target)
I’d have preferred Nintendo leave the sub part out (although it’s moot point to me), and focus just on the active players that have plenty of play time and plenty of purchases. Just like Valve did. Open to the people that have been registered owners with a valid active Nintendo account and have more than $50 in purchases. No sub needed.
The big difference is Nintendo has retail partners…. Valve didn’t share those same partners, or at least not in the same fashion. So they didn’t have to cater to them regarding the Deck release. Instead they released privately to the Steam members and are just now starting to slowly roll out to retail outlets.
I never felt like I deserved priority so to speak, just a guaranteed order to arrive within a year of launch that I wouldn’t have to pay a scalper fee for. I’d love a launch model, but as long as I’m not left to fend for scalpers like I was with Ps5, then I’m happy.
Fighting the scalp bots and such for ps5 was such a horrible experience that after trying diligently for months I finally gave up. By the time Sony offered me direct access I was like “meh”. Last year I’d finally saved up for a ps5 but ended up getting the Steam Deck instead. Made more sense to me, and still does.
@jon128 it opened around 9:30-9:45am CDT. I caught notice of it on Reddit about 30ish mins after the direct.
I’ll let ya know if I get a notification of any kind. Really hoping the may 8th is a typo. And I should qualify for all their requirements - active NSO since it started (I’m a family plan leader for NSO+ ever since NSO+ family launched)…. 900 hours a year average game time, with two peaks of 1400-1500 hours for Monster Hunter Generations and Diablo 2, and a very large collection of digital titles. So every box of theirs should be ticked.
@jon128 I’m curious the same. US here as well, and my friend from the Netherlands already got his notification “you’ve been selected” email. Lucky turd!
Curious if we’ll get the same here, or if we’re just gonna be twiddling our thumbs until May 8th (which is so flipping odd because the rest of the world will have been pre-ordering since Apr 8/9?!?)
Edit - Should be noted that I registered the moment the US website showed it.
@xenobladexfan It’s def against the law and you can get arrested and fined for scalping concert tickets. Truly a shame that doesn’t apply to toys/games/cards/etc and instead is considered entrepreneurial and part of the capitalistic way. Ugh.
Man I wish they’d let us in the US know if we’ve been selected / acknowledge the registration, so that we knew if we needed to shop around or we were good…..
@RupeeClock don’t fret yet. They’re probably going through thousands if not millions of registrants.
If I had to hazard a guess you’ll get picked. It may not be first wave, but this method virtually guarantees you’ll get a switch 2 and won’t have to pay a scalped price.
@RupeeClock it won’t, this is an anti scalper method. They’re basically checking to make sure that those that register are active members that actually play vs some rando just trying to buy and resell.
This is the same method Valve used for Steam Deck, and Sony ended up having to do for Ps5.
This is a consumer friendly approach to guaranteeing those that actually will play and use the system will get one. Let the scalpers fight it out at retail.
As someone who’s battled the scalper bots a time or two, and lost out during Ps5 pre-orders, this is a god send.
Wish the US program was like Euro & UK! My friend already got his “You’ve been selected” email. Now I wait for mine, which according to the site may not arrive till May 8th? Weird we gotta wait a month while Euro is getting notified by Apr 8th….
@AstroTheGamosian Ouch! Sorry to hear all that! IV shortage doesn’t surprise me with how many people i know that dealt with NV and COVID this few months..:: Yeah the wife lost 12.4lbs during her bout with it. She was retching for 2 days straight basically, and like you spent basically the entire time in the bathroom. We live in central IL, and luckily have Expres Care+ locations which is like a mini ER. They were treating mainly these super sick cases of NV like you and her had.
Glad you recovered tho! After witnessing it first hand, I could easily see this years NV take someone out with dehydration.
Edit - And yeah those Pedialytes are wicked stuff, 🤣. My daughter needed them a few years back (first covid round for us, 4 times so far, ugh.) And outta curiosity I tried it. We had grape, which tasted exactly like a Grape Flavor-Ice, but salted. Uuughh.
@umbreon_sylveon I mean I wouldn’t say no to that, but honestly I’d just be happy with a guaranteed ability to order at MRSP. No battling scalper bots or anything. Just go directly to Nintendo store, log in, and order directly. Also a guaranteed to arrive within the first 3 months. Happy enough with that, as I battled for months with Ps5 and finally gave up. Got an Xbox within 3 months of launch, and kept trying for Ps5 until right before Sony started sending links to Psn subscribers. Too little too late. Ended up getting a Steam Deck last year instead and can play all the Ps games I wanted to portable now.
@AstroTheGamosian ugh Noro was wicked this year! I luckily avoided it, think I’m some how resistant….. but my spouse gets it every year like clockwork, and this year it sent her to an urgent care+ facility to get IV hydration and a boatload of Zofran so she’d stop puking….
I still say they need to let NSO/NSO+ subscribers order directly so they avoid scalpers and guarantee an order even if it doesn’t ship/arrive on launch day.
Steam does it. Sony finally did it 6 months or so into the Ps5 launch. MS had the finance option/pre-order for S/X.
If they can all do it, so can you Nintendo! Please help us fans avoid retailer hell….
@HeadPirate Yeah the limitations suck. But honestly I’ve got quite a few games I’ve beaten or don’t have time for currently that my daughters want to play, and if I’m playing ANY game on Switch the moment they try to log into my account it boots em.
Considering I have 4 switches between myself, wife and 2 daughters, it’s not remotely feasible to try to swap around my primary access…. So I’ve left it on my main system.
And I get that not everyone loves digital. I hated it at first. Then the lazy side of me loved not swapping carts and having to grab my bag of games…. I’ve got over 80 physical and over 500 digital on switch alone at this point.
The truth is, thanks to transfer speed limitations and game assets becoming ridiculously large, everything will eventually be digital only. We’ve already hit the max blu ray could offer us last gen when games started installing like they have on pc for years. Carts are currently the only capable physical medium of hitting the necessary transfer speeds, and that’ll be hit within the next generation or so unless Sandisk or someone pulls some magic out of their backside….
@HeadPirate Yeah I know about the game sharing on Xbox and PS, this is vastly different, actually transferring the license (if only temporarily) to the other console. Exactly like popping a physical cart out and popping it in another console.
In this case the prime owner doesn’t need an account on the other console, nor does the second console need to connect to the internet to verify DRM (minus the first connection for transfer)
Xbox and Ps system fails if you remove the internet component, if the prime account signs on from another console and tries to play the game, etc etc.
Again, only Steam has done anything like this where it’s truly a license transfer and not just a “share as long as the prime account is on the system”
Edit - I did not know that game pass was shared, since I never boot my S in the sunroom / nor do my kiddos. That’s nifty!
The play anywhere thing I WISH I could take advantage of. Sadly it’s not an option for Steam Deck without dual booting windows…..
Edit 2 - You know what Nintendo should do to hop in the front of things? Start offering bulk/bundle licenses at a discount for family groups on multiplayer games like Splatoon or Monster Hunter. Most families currently buy one game copy and await for sales or a following month to purchase a second copy so the kiddos can play together…. The devs and publishers would stand to make more money initially if they offered say 2-4 licenses in bulk at a 20-30% discounted rate instead of that same family buying the first copy then waiting for half off or more for the second and beyond.
Thats probably the closest we’ll get to Download Play like they use to offer on GBA!
Absolutely huge news, especially for families. Like I don’t think anyone quite gets how massive this is.
To put in perspective, only Steam allows anything similar, allowing you to send licenses you’re done with to family/friends. Xbox and Sony def don’t do this, and I don’t know of any other digital store that does.
The only thing here is that it’s a timed thing so far, only allowing for 2 weeks at a time and having to be local. A full license transfer to a family member or friend would be the next step (and best course). But this opens the door for that.
Seriously huge.
Edit - to further clarify, this is a temporary transfer of license, not just game sharing. Currently as it stands on Xbox and PlayStation you are account and internet bound. You either need the prime account on the system playing or access to the internet. This requires both for the first transfer and then not again for 2 weeks. The secondary switch needs never to connect to the internet to verify DRM after the fact. This is quite literally the virtual version of handing someone your game card for a couple weeks, except you don’t have to worry about them breaking it.
This paves the way for digital full transfers of licenses - sending your friends or family the copy of the game permanently while revoking your license. Much like being able to sell or trade a physical copy. This also can pave the way for doing such things on a digital front.
Again, neither MS nor Sony do anything like this yet, and I’ve only heard of Steam being able to (and I think that’s either friend or family bound).
This also can open up the possibility of being able to purchase digital titles to send to your family and friends. Possibly a way around Nintendos very strict purchase system - something only parents may know of. I went to buy my daughter a copy of Resident Evil 5 so we could play together, but due to her age on her Nintendo account it will not let me. It’s a strict set on her eShop profile that cannot be changed. Other systems will ask me, and even switch will, for her to play T or M rated games. Even purchase T rated (got her MHGU not long ago) but they have a strict no sell of M titles to anyone that isn’t 18+. No matter what I do to parental controls or her profile. Check Reddit, I’m not the only parent/person to come across this issue. And even Nintendo support can’t change it.
I gave it an outstanding just because they listened and gave us Switch owners with families and digital libraries a super nice way to game share without having to mess with Primary and Secondary account nonsense.
One step further would be full transfer of license to a family member for a title you’re no longer playing. They’ve now become the closest to Steam in regards to digital rights sharing. Bravo Nintendo! Bravo!
Really not sure anyone realizes just how huge this is.
@Olliemar28 I just wanna say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for including CDT in here! Seriously! This has got to be the first article I’ve read in years from any site that gave CST/CDT. 99% of the time it’s just PDT + EDT and us jack wagons in the middle just gotta figure it out. 🤣
(I ALWAYS forget if a zone is 1 or 2 hours ahead of or behind my location. But oddly enough I know the Netherlands is 7 hours ahead…. 🤦🏼♂️)

Re: Digital Foundry Dives Into Cyberpunk 2077 On Switch 2
Re: Digital Foundry Dives Into Cyberpunk 2077 On Switch 2

Re: Poll: Did You Get A Switch 2 Purchase Invite From Nintendo Yet? (Europe)
America here, congrats to those that snagged pre-orders!
Wish NoA would send us at least a confirmation email saying they know we registered! Sheesh!
Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Wind Waker Is On Switch 2 - Do You Still Want A WW:HD Port?

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 Might Pull A 'Witcher 3' On Switch 2
I own the game on Xbox, and Steam. Still have yet to play it, but will def get the Switch 2 version. Absolutely loved Witcher 3, and could get lost in CDPR games for hours.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Includes Support For Variable Refresh Rate Technology
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Includes Support For Variable Refresh Rate Technology
@skywake I’ll give ya two good reasons why people didn’t think of VRR or think Nintendo would embrace it. Firstly, Steam Deck and Legion Go don’t use it, but Asus Ally does. So as far as handhelds go it’s not widely adopted. And only on a $800 handheld
Secondly, and more importantly, I don’t think anyone expected a 120hz lcd on Switch 2, which is nearly required to make a more seamless experience. Which is why Legion (60hz) and SD OLED (90hz) don’t make use of VRR.
Re: Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle Will Apparently Be A "Limited Time" Offer
Maybe I shoulda opted for the standard model on registration….. I saw bundle, I thought “likely less preorders due to price and not everyone wants MK…”
Was not thinking limited edition/availability….
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@jon128 I hope we all get one and don’t have to battle retailers nonsense for them!
If Nintendo follows suit to Sony, Xbox, and Valve then as long as you’re in the register, you’ll eventually get one.
Edit - also didn’t mean for it to sound like a brag, just an ADHD explanation of why I think/hope I’m qualified. And the moment I get an email I’ll post here, but especially if it’s earlier than May.
Re: PSA: Switch Online Includes Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack Access At "No Additional Cost"
Re: PSA: Switch Online Includes Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack Access At "No Additional Cost"
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@Gummisaurus Same. I don’t want to accidentally take a pre-order that someone else could use, but at the same time I don’t want to miss out. It’s so odd that the pre orders open the same basic dates world wide, yet NoE went ahead and let people know they were GTG and could just await their invite. Then NoA makes us consult the magic 8 ball….
Re: PSA: Switch Online Includes Switch 2 Edition Upgrade Pack Access At "No Additional Cost"
Truly hope this includes more than just first party…. Games like Hogwarts, MK1, Witcher 3, Doom, etc could use some performance patches for Switch 2.
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@jco83 seconding this, Amazon has had notable issues with fake memory cards. Buy direct from Sandisk or Nintendo
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@jon128 I’m curious the same. US here as well, and my friend from the Netherlands already got his notification “you’ve been selected” email. Lucky turd!
Curious if we’ll get the same here, or if we’re just gonna be twiddling our thumbs until May 8th (which is so flipping odd because the rest of the world will have been pre-ordering since Apr 8/9?!?)
Edit - Should be noted that I registered the moment the US website showed it.
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@xenobladexfan It’s def against the law and you can get arrested and fined for scalping concert tickets. Truly a shame that doesn’t apply to toys/games/cards/etc and instead is considered entrepreneurial and part of the capitalistic way. Ugh.
Man I wish they’d let us in the US know if we’ve been selected / acknowledge the registration, so that we knew if we needed to shop around or we were good…..
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@RupeeClock don’t fret yet. They’re probably going through thousands if not millions of registrants.
If I had to hazard a guess you’ll get picked. It may not be first wave, but this method virtually guarantees you’ll get a switch 2 and won’t have to pay a scalped price.
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
@RupeeClock it won’t, this is an anti scalper method. They’re basically checking to make sure that those that register are active members that actually play vs some rando just trying to buy and resell.
This is the same method Valve used for Steam Deck, and Sony ended up having to do for Ps5.
This is a consumer friendly approach to guaranteeing those that actually will play and use the system will get one. Let the scalpers fight it out at retail.
As someone who’s battled the scalper bots a time or two, and lost out during Ps5 pre-orders, this is a god send.
Re: Where To Pre-Order Nintendo Switch 2
Wish the US program was like Euro & UK! My friend already got his “You’ve been selected” email. Now I wait for mine, which according to the site may not arrive till May 8th? Weird we gotta wait a month while Euro is getting notified by Apr 8th….
Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation
@AstroTheGamosian Small world! Springfield area here, just outside of it in a small town.
Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation
Uuughh.
Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation
Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation
Re: Switch 2 Pre-Orders Expected To Sell Out "Day One" Due To Limited Unit Allocation
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
Re: Nintendo Announces 'Virtual Game Cards' For Switch, Unlocking Digital Lending
Re: Poll: So, How Would You Rate The Nintendo Direct For March 2025?
I gave it an outstanding just because they listened and gave us Switch owners with families and digital libraries a super nice way to game share without having to mess with Primary and Secondary account nonsense.
One step further would be full transfer of license to a family member for a title you’re no longer playing. They’ve now become the closest to Steam in regards to digital rights sharing. Bravo Nintendo! Bravo!
Really not sure anyone realizes just how huge this is.
Re: Nintendo Direct Confirmed For Today, 27th March 2025
@Olliemar28 I just wanna say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH for including CDT in here! Seriously! This has got to be the first article I’ve read in years from any site that gave CST/CDT. 99% of the time it’s just PDT + EDT and us jack wagons in the middle just gotta figure it out. 🤣
(I ALWAYS forget if a zone is 1 or 2 hours ahead of or behind my location. But oddly enough I know the Netherlands is 7 hours ahead…. 🤦🏼♂️)
