Re: Video: Check Out These New Mini Games in Resident Evil Revelations 1 and 2

Danpal65

If both games were on cartridges (would have been impressive if they'd got both on one) I would have definitely picked this up, but as it is I think I'll let this one go and focus on the millions of other games that have decided to come out over the next two months.

That being said, these mini games look like a fun addition to separate these from being ports that are no different to the other versions, so kudos there.

Re: Super Famicom Mini Greatly Outsold Famicom Mini In Japan

Danpal65

The games on the SNES/Super Famicom are definitely better than what was on the NES/Famicom. I also think there is more nostalgia for this console. In any case I think Nintendo have handled the SNES mini a lot better than the NES, as shown by the stock available (constantly available through EB Games in Australia).

Re: FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch Accounts for a Tiny Percentage of UK Launch Sales

Danpal65

Hmm. It'll be interesting to see how EA takes this. The Switch does have the smallest install base at the moment, especially compared to PlayStation, but I guess even then the audience isn't really there on the Switch for a lesser version of FIFA. Mind you, if they gave version parity on features, not necessarily graphics, I'm sure that would have helped.

Re: Review: FIFA 18 (Switch)

Danpal65

I don't get why they thought omitting playing with friends online was a good idea. Mind you that wasn't an option on the last Fifa I played, Fifa 98 on the N64

Re: Poll: Six Months of the Switch - What Do You Think of Nintendo's Console Hybrid?

Danpal65

Had a Switch since day 1 and it has been great. I have over 170 hours in Breath of the Wild, 30+ in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and I'm looking forward to Mario and Xenoblade at the end of the year.
This device has been everything that I love about Nintendo's handhelds and home consoles. When it's plugged into the dock it is a totally happy home console experience, but I can then pick it up and it becomes a handheld that is the most powerful that has been made. I've always been a fan of cartridges as a medium, so the Switch scratches all the right itches (and not any discs).
I'm looking forward to the consoles future, at this stage the forecast looks bright.

Re: Niantic Is Facing a Class-Action Lawsuit Over Pokémon GO Fest

Danpal65

I can understand being upset by this, but its not like they didn't get anything out of GO Fest. The experience is still there, and from what I've heard people did have fun at the event and it expanded to accommodate people the bets they could, out into the parklands.
In the end there is only so much that Niantic could do, and regardless of the issues, not just form them but form cellular carriers as well, things turned out okay-ish. They refunded peoples tickets, it wasn't their responsibility to even do that, I think it's a bit entitled to be asking for the whole thing to be payed for by the company.

Re: Guide: Everything We Know About the Super NES Classic Edition

Danpal65

@SLIGEACH_EIRE I'm sure there's no problem with giving a wish list, but I can imagine some people might be rubbed the wrong way if you suggest that a game they like shouldn't be included.

Personally I'm very happy with the 21 games with the SNES mini, especially Star Fox 2. I would have liked the other Donkey Kong Country games on there though as I've never played them.

Re: Playtonic Outlines Yooka-Laylee Improvements and Switch Version Progress

Danpal65

@tanookisuit I think that's a bit unfair as they had to shift development to the Switch long after the other consoles were under way. If Playtonic had been able to I'm sure they would have released it on Switch along with the others, it just wasn't possible.

It's good to see that they are still improving the game, any extra polish will make the Switch version better than the original release out of the box.

Re: Three Months After Launch, People Are Still Queuing For Nintendo Switch Consoles In Japan

Danpal65

@Anguspuss On the one hand it may be a good thing, that people are willing to line up and try to get one, but this seems to be suggesting that there may be a significant stock issue. There was that article a few days ago saying Nintendo may be competing with the likes of Apple and others for parts for the Switch. If that is the case it may be a while before a steady supply is available.

I am glad that Nintendo is able to drum up this much anticipation though. As you said it does say some good things about the Switch.

Re: ARMS Producer Would Love To See The Game Embraced As An eSport

Danpal65

@Fighter_Hayabusa Actually the Pokemon Company runs those competitions. You can tell, there is a huge hacker problem within the Pokemon competitive scene, something that would most likely be dealt with if Nintendo were in charge.

I do agree that eSports are good, although the Melee/ProjectM community is a bit toxic, they demonstrate high-level play and just seem like some good fun at the lower levels.

Re: Video: The Complete History Of Mario Kart

Danpal65

Haven't watched the video, but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has got to be one of the best in the series right now. The only thing that could make it better would be to make its balloon battle mode the same as 64. Plus we need blockfort!

Re: Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Lead the Way in US April Sales

Danpal65

@Mahe The thing about a slow trickle is that you have to start somewhere and the game has to actually be out for however many years. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been out for less than a month, had an amazing launch day and is chugging along quite happily. I doubt it'll match Mario Kart Wii, anything the Wii set may not be replicated again since the whole gaming scene has changed, but that doesn't mean that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is doing badly, especially since it is topping most charts.

Re: Nintendo Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Lead the Way in US April Sales

Danpal65

Up, up, and up. It seems that the Switch is having positive results in terms of sales around the world. Those Mario Kart 8 numbers are pretty impressive. Going off of the number of Switches sold just in March, that's something like a quarter of them buying the game (this probably isn't true anymore as more copies of the game would have sold, as well as more Switch units).

It feels good being in a place where the current Nintendo hardware is doing well. I enjoyed my WiiU, but it was kind of a guilty pleasure, no one else really wanted to talk about it, even if they knew what it was.
