Do you wish there were more scary games on the Switch? If so, you might be in luck if Shinji Mikami, Resident Evil co-creator and producer of The Evil Within 2 gets his way.
Speaking to GameSpot, Mikami seemed very enthusiastic about porting the game to Switch:
I think a Switch version would be interesting. I'd like to try it if I had the chance.
Thankfully Mikami-san might be in luck; The Evil Within 2 is being published by none other than Bethesda, who are bringing DOOM, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the Switch.

As revealed the other day, Bethesda is using a third party studio known as Panic Button to port DOOM over to the Switch, so it could be the case that The Evil Within 2 gets the same treatment one day. Which is good, as Mikami doesn't yet own a Switch himself:
First I'd like to buy a Switch myself. I had to borrow Zelda with the Switch from another staff member to play it.
He probably has his hands full preparing for the The Evil Within 2's launch, so we'll cut him some slack. Let us know if you'd like to see this terrifying game make it over to the Switch one day soon with a comment below.

All I can say is YES PLEASE!!......sorry for the shouting...
Is this game a direct follow up to the first game story-wise? I have the first game on PS4 but could never get into it. Anyway, if it is then wouldn't make sense to port the first game over as well?
Looks like everyone wants a piece of the pie that Bethesda seems to like. I'd be on board with this if it were to happen. Make the Switch a viable place for 3rd parties!
Great to see Bethesda trying to get a lot of content on the Switch! They've taken over Ubisoft as Nintendo's most supportive third party dev for the Switch! Keep it up and keep the games coming!
It would be nice IF it happens.
Sounds good. Let's hope Bethesda continue to lead the way with blasting the doors wide open to third-party support.
Could we see Elder Scrolls Online in the future?!
Also! Just saw over on IGN an interview with a Bethesda marketing guy who says that they want to develop their relationship with Nintendo beyond the games they have announced now as they really like the Switch. Bethesda could really be he start of something here.
Probally waaay to violent for those who thought it would be problematic to be seen playing Gal gun in public...
Evil within 2 is not a game I personaly would buy, but more games on a system is allways welcome.
Sweet
Well, I hope the publisher/developer puts the game on the system.
It actually showed some game play which is rare, looks amazing, so blur it all up and squint your eyes and that is what it will look like on the switch
Reading the Game Informer feature about this game yesterday, I actually said to myself that this could work on the Switch. Glad to hear the thought is out there. Would love for it to happen
The only way I buy the game is if it's on Switch.
I would love to have this on Switch. Going by what Bethesda have said about bringing even more games after Wolfenstein 2, then there is a good chance this could be next up.
@Danpal65 I'd already posted the links in the forums.

Want more games from Bethesda? Support the ports that are coming to the Switch. Simple as that
Hey Capcom now would be a time to get off your asses and start bringing actual support to the Switch
C'mon Mikami, you can do it. I enjoy the first game of this and all the Resident Evil you made up to Resident Evil 4, if you can nail this on Switch then you can have all the money I throw at you.
This looks like yummy.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE how would it be nice? i thought you don't like ports and that would be a port.
This would be sweet if it happened.
Although personally I'm keen to play this on the X1X more, just for the fancy visuals & whizz bang effects (sue me lol)
Cool, I guess, but would be much cooler if he said "Surprise! We're launching a Switch version simultaneously with ther platforms on Friday 13th!"
@manu0 The Evil Within 2 is a new game, it hasn't even come out yet.
Please do. Preferably announce before I buy it on PS4.
Idc about Skyrim and I already own Doom so Wolfenstein and this would be the only ones I would get.
Give him the chance Bethesda, please.
Nintendo: So, which games will you be porting to the Switch?
Bethesda:
Personally, I have no need or actual interest in this game on the Switch, as it'll end up a compromised experience and I'll play it on the PS4 anyways, just as the 1st one (and even that was a compromised experience btw). Same goes for the likes of Doom and Skyrim, which I already own on other platforms, and for which I don't see that much of a benefit in having them portable. Skyrim maybe ... but neither TEW nor DOOM are really games you want to play in short burts on the bus or something like that.
Still, not everyone has multiple systems, so I applaud Bethesda for their efforts, even though personally, I have no reason to support them in those endeavors.. I love to see Bethesda doing some games tailor made for the Switch though, that would be a whole different story. Just as I'd never buy a Assassins Creed port on the Switch from Ubisoft, MarioXComRabbids was still a day one for me ...
On the other hand, I would be nice for Mikami to return to Nintendo platforms
I would love to see it make it over. I would die from multiple heart attacks if I play it.
They’d need to learn how to optimise it first. The first one was terrible on consoles, even on a high spec PC it was a struggle whilst also looking terrible. Mind you it was using an older version of idtech, which was known to be a terrible engine.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE It would still be a port though, something you constantly moan about.
As I'm not a horror fan, I can't say I'd be interested, but the more the better in general! Personally I'd much rather see Dishonored II.....or Fallout...but I can't get into "new Fallout."
Hope Capcom puts "Resident Evil 4 HD" on Switch down the line, maybe if this "new" one sells well...
Its amazing what I would buy on Switch - I'm sort of half interested in this on PS4, but I'd snap it up on Switch.
Wait, is it third-person? Wasn't the first one first-person?
The more games the better.
Heh, still need to play the first one.
Hope this makes the Switch!
Do it!
@Yasaal Bethesda may be giving us Skyrim, Doom, and Wolfenstein 2 but let’s not forget Ubisoft gave us JUST DANCE 2017!!!
My Wallet: For the love of God please stop!
Don't listen to him Bethesda and bring it on!
@Wayoh2002 Not sure if you're being ironic but yeah...
@Wayoh2002 They've just given us Mario+Rabbids which is a very good game. CAPCOM announcing nothing with regards to MH is the one I'm most disappointed about
I think it could happen. The first Evil Within game was on last gen and even on the older consoles the game actually still looks good

Yes, bring it!
You know what...I think finally third parties are realising that Nintendo gamers aren't kids...but GAME enthusiasts.
@GrailUK Thank you. I never understood why it was ok for the Twins to have every genre under the sun but Nintendo got kicked to the kiddie table. Here is a thought...if you put games on the system you will diversify the library...just like the Twins. Ah well. I'm hoping for a return to the SNES super console days.
@GrailUK It seems to mainly be other gamers that think Nintendo gamers are kids. My best mate doesn’t get why I love Nintendo, I keep telling him games are about having fun and Nintendo make fun games. I play ‘adult’ games on my PC, but to me it doesn’t matter what the game looks or plays like, if it fun I’ll play it. On subject, I would love to see this game come to Switch, annoyingly I’ll be in two minds, play it on PC, or wait and hope it comes to Switch.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE can't you think ahead a couple of months? it will come out on all other platforms next month. if it will be released on switch it will be released later and then it will be a port.
@Ryu_Niiyama Awww maam, the SNES era for me meant an amazing library of games and importing games from the US. Thanks to the Switch and Brexit...this is actually happening lol!
I found it funny when he said he still doesn't have a Switch. Even top-tier video game developers are having a hard time finding one lol
They won't do it. They're too chicken to do it. Chicken I tell yah! Chicken!
Please YES. I would gladly double dip for it.
I've passed the first The Evil Within. I wouldn't pass it on the Switch again. Bring 'em all, Bethesda!
Lol Evil Within wasn't very scary for me, got to a certain point and it felt more like run n gun action, with some stealth thrown in every now and then. I did enjoy the style and the characters (evil ones 😜) though. I'd be interested but depends on the game itself not so much the port....
Anyway the more the merrier happy to have more potential games in the library. Especially some variety as others have said it had felt like we have been sat at the kiddie table too long.
I liked the Evil Within, although near the ending. The beginning started off so well, but yeah. Hope they fix (most of) the issues in The Evil Within 2 and that we can see the sequel on the Switch.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Ports don't need to be old games. They can be new games which are ported from another version on another platform. I guess you mean you don't like ports of old games.
I don't understand why you don't like them, though. It doesn't matter when they were originally released. If you haven't played them, they're "new" for you even if they were released in 1985.
I know some people will start the inevitable" broken port" discussion. Realistically, not everyone has multiple consoles. I have a PS4, and actually still play it almost as much as the Switch, but that doesn't mean I've bought every game. This year has brought a lot of quality games, as well as turmoil to those in my life, so I have spent more time away from home. I haven't finished persona 5, well full disclosure I'm still in June, for those that understand what it means, lol. I haven't opened horizon zero dawn or nioh.
So there are games like Doom, games like evil within, even skyrim, that I haven't been able to lay because adulting. And with so many quality games announced for the holidays, plays the hustle and bustle of the holidays, immonky goijg to get farther behind. Wouldn't it be nice to have those type of games to go?
I for one applaud every third party that is putting support not just words behind the Switch. Maybe the frame rate isn't what you would like, maybe the graphics get compromised, but I'm sure some of you played the original ds. Tell me how "unplayable and uninteresting" those games were for not having Ps2 and Xbox quality graphics. Yea I thought not.
As long as the developer isn't trying to get over or sell a broken product, I'm all for bringing whatever they can to the Switch.
All these Bethesda titles coming or possibly coming to the Switch is great news indeed! I will gladly give up some graphical prowess in favor of portability. I'm not sold on the Switch yet. There are a few concerns I'd like to see addressed. But this bodes well for Nintendo and their customers.
@Sir_Anthony and none of them will sell well.
#facts
Yeah, Bethesda! More games that I finally can play on the streets and in public without being ashamed! Really, these are the games I can and would play everywhere.
I heard a lot about these games, so ports would certainly be nice.
Actually, saying "I'd like to try it if I had the chance," is not so great, if "had" was intentionally used. If it was "have" and not "had" I'd be more hopeful.
"YESSSSSSS" IT'S TIME FOR NINTENDO TO DO SOME HORROR GAME AND MORE ACTION. THE "EVIL WITHIN 2" WOULD BE A NICE TOUCH . I JUST FINALLY RECEIVED A NINTENDO SWITCH SO LET THE FUN, AND HORROR TIMES ROLL.
