After an initial reveal of Splash! Magikarp in February we had heard nothing about this strange mobile game, until yesterday.
Seemingly out of nowhere the game, now titled Pokémon: Magikarp Jump after the hilarious mini-game from the Nintendo 64 classic Pokémon Stadium, was released. This is not a global launch however, but is seemingly only available right now in Italy and on iOS platforms; to get it you need to have an Italian iTunes account. At present no announcements have been made for the release in other countries such as the US and the UK.
This game is a relatively simple one where you raise up a Magikarp and then take part in leagues to see whose Magikarp can jump the highest. The stronger your Magikarp, the higher it can go. However, if you fail too much and your Magikarp's stamina drops then you have to say goodbye to it and capture another, starting again.
There is a lot more to this game, so expect our early impressions soon.

Hoping they bring that sick Lickitung sushi-go-round mini game then
Hopefully it gets a wider release soon.
Is this why the official Pokémon youtube channel from different countries just released translated version of that cute Magikarp song ?
Eh...
Better put Gyarados instead.
Instant Apocalypse...
Love Magikarp, love Magikarp, love Magikarp. Though you are the weakest you still stole my heart.
