I'm still working my way through the Mega Man X Legacy Collection one game at a time. I just finished X7 yesterday, so there's only one game left before I'm done. And luckily, it's one of my favorites too!
I've been replaying Persona 4 to keep myself occupied this summer vacation. It's actually my first time playing through the Golden expansion and I just beat Ameno-Sagiri, which means the rumored bonus dungeon can't be too far off, so that's quite exciting.
MGS4 had the most advanced man-butt tech of its generation and it is a true travesty to see the perfectly genetically engineered "ASSets" of Solid Snake be misrepresented in such a manner!
@Bread-Not-Toast Lighten up, Hayter's just joking around. It's not like anyone's sending death-threats to Sakurai while demanding Snake's buttocks to be tightened up... yet. ~ sigh
It's worth to reiterate that the nature of the "partnership" is that Aplus is the developer while ASW is publishing the game, think French Bread's Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late and Exe:Late[ST].
@Heavyarms55 If it's like the other versions, then it's done in-house by Arc System Work's Red Team (Blazblue Tag is Blue Team by the by). They did an amazing job on the PC port so this is no surprise, it's incredibly lightweight and runs well on most setups.
@Aerona That was my first reaction too, despite it being such a minor thing to most people.
I always loved the ALTTP/ALBW design the most out of all of her looks.
@TrixieSparkle Reminds me of the whole SFV tease where DLC fighters would show up in story mode before you could even buy them. Though at least they had the excuse of being unfinished unlike this game's first DLC batch which was out on release day. Kind of makes the gesture of making the two RWBY gals free seem kind of hollow.
Not too surprising considering BBTAG's DLC drama (which means people may just be waiting for the inevitable ASW expanded version with all the characters included) along with Mori's disasterous interview about how they made the game with simplified mechanics to appeal to the Western market which is both disheartening to the Asian market AND a rather rude decision to make on behalf of the Western one. I do really like the game, but I can't say this backlash is surprising.
As a fan of BB, P4A and UNI, my chief concern going into this game was whether or not the game would sacrifice the depth found in those games for the sake of reaching a wider demographic outside of the fighting game community.
Now, the moveset per character is certainly more simplistic, and honestly rather odd compared to what those games offered, as light, medium, heavy, persona and drive attacks are now mainly done through repeated tapping of the two buttons (yes, auto combos are here in full force) that were usually reserved for simple light and medium attacks previously while more important actions and attacks are now mapped squarely to what used to be the heavy/persona attack button, presumably for easier conveyance of the moves' importance or somesuch. With no real command normals to speak of, you'll quickly find that you need to engage with the auto combo system to make use of most of your normals whether you'd like to or not. Still, once you get the hang of things and stop treating the game like BB, UNI or P4A, it all starts coming together rather nicely.
I finally got the best ending in Cave Story a couple days ago. I've been playing the game since it came out way back in '04 but somehow never actually gathered up the courage to power through the Sacred Grounds/Blood Stained Sanctuary. It feels good to finally scratch that off my to-do list after all those years.
Only NES at launch? Talk about retreading old ground.
It's getting exhausting having to restart from the 8-bit era and slowly work our way back up again each time a new VC service comes out. I just want to see something new from the service like the GC, DS or Wii at this point.
@Gauchorino I'd say this guy is a pretty ageless personality that'll be remembered long into the future and beyond as the defining voice of Mario and his relatives even after we're all well dead and gone.
Devil May Cry 5? Dante's been showing up in MHW, MVCI, the late Puzzle Fighter mobile and the PS2 trilogy was rereleased on current gen a few weeks ago, that's a great deal of exposure for a dormant franchise.
I just finished the newly released HD rerelease of Devil May Cry 3 for PC on Dante Must Die difficulty. And boy, what a ride that was. It feels nice finally being able to scratch that off my to-do list after all these years.
I'm currently going through Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 on my Switch, slowly but surely making my way through the main story towards the DLC I haven't played in the PC version. I've just recently clocked in 85 hours with FighterZ on PC too, so you can see why progress is slow.
@AlternateButtons I can see that. Fanboys spamming demands for him to do certain things is a HUUUGE (yes. caps-lock is needed to truly emphasize his burning distaste in this case) berserk button for him.
I still never feel like I truly own something unless I have it physically in my hands. Sure, most services have contingency plans in case the service goes offline to assure that people can still play their games, but I don't like to have to rely on blindly trusting that they have my back if the service goes bottoms-up or I lose my account. Then again, I have little choice as a PC gamer. At least GOG makes putting games on an external hard-drive easy.
This is by far the best in the series, but the second one has a great roster so I do hope they get around to that one eventually. Hopefully this Switch release helps bring attention to this game's beautifully smooth animations and great spritework. You always hear talk of SFIII and Garou's amazing sprites, but this one never gets brought up.
Reminds me of the demo of Wind Waker on the Zelda Collector's Edition disc. I spent so much time playing it over and over just to get a little bit farther each time.
I just 100 percented Majora's Mask 3D again, because, y'know, Halloween. I wanted to play the original version but I only have component cables hooked up to my Wii and my new TV doesn't support it.

Re: All Five Of The New Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Will Receive amiibo Figures
It's been a while since I've bought any amiibo, but I suppose I won't be able to help myself once I see Richter, no matter the cost.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 28th)
I've been enjoying me some Mega Man X Legacy Collection.
Thus far I've beaten X1, X2 and X3 as well as watched through The Day of Sigma.
Re: Nintendo UK Is Asking For As Much As £180 To Repair Cracked Switch Consoles
Regardless of how widespread the issue is,
it is rather strange that the warranty doesn't cover this kind of damage.

I can't believe it has been this long since that day.
It still feels like it happened just last year...

All handheld for me. I pretty much treat my Switch like an upgraded 3DS.

This could be problematic once games eventually go out of production and can only be aquired through second-hand markets.
