Waking up today with no preorder for this thing made me sad. They're already going for hundreds on eBay...
Mine looks nice in the box so I might just keep it there..
Still showing "awaiting dispatch... due for delivery tomorrow" on my Amazon account
I ordered it pretty much within seconds of them going live back in June so I'm a little disappointed that it's not arriving today.
However saying that I am thankful I'm getting one at all after all the NES mini issues people had.
I don't think i'll be 100% confident till it actually arrives though
@Marios-love-child That sucks. I bought one from Amazon France so even though it's dispatched it won't arrive till Monday. A bit gutted I won't have it for weekend but at least we were lucky to get one
Got mine at midnight but looking at those snes controllers with the analog controls would be nice but would only be good for a select few games on the non-hacked systems.
You don't really need any accessories. Oh a plug you may need, as Nintendo once again skimped on savings in Europe. And perhaps a controller cord extender, which most people should have from their NES Classic Mini. That's not the point of this article though. You've to try and keep the wolves from your door.
Mine still not here. Got it preordered from Argos but Royal Mail hasn't come 😢
Edit
Just received. Love it. Opening the box made me feel 9 all over again
It didn't come with the 300 platinum points I got with the nes mini
I'm going to try to find one in my local gamestop...
Mine hasn't arrived yet. Has to go to parcel motel in NI then to me in the south.
On the email I received from Nintendo UK telling me it was despatched there was an error on the mailing address. They left out my parcel motel ID number in the email.
I contacted them and they don't know if it's on the package or not.
I'm not worried I'll still get it. There are procedures in place at parcel motel for these kinds of issues. What it can do is delay it by a further day. Anyway it hasn't even arrived at PM yet so we don't know.
Being a 38 year old adult I'm far to mature to hunt one of these things down, but I did see my Mum get one from Smyths this morning and it's my birthday in 2 weeks time.
38 years old.
I am not going to waste my time, there are some things in life I am not supposed to have.
Some of us have lives and jobs and are not going to wait in line for hours for an overpriced emulation machine.
are there any wireless controller options here in the UK? I read somewhere something about the pro controller from Wii working somehow? Or was I imagining that?
There is a version of the Playing With Super Power book with the PAL image and colours.

Currently outside a target. Hour and a half before they open. 3rd in line. 40 degrees farenheit out. Should be worth it.
THe toys r us in at has 60
@Alikan I started reading and when I saw 40 Degrees I said. "Jesus you better have plenty of bottles of water with you" until I saw Fahrenheit. You Americans and your crazy temperature measurements.
Guys need to remove the link to the "8bitdo SNES Classic wireless receiver" because that's not what it is. It's an NES Classic Wirless receiver and is completely incompatible with SNES Classic.
Unless you downgrade firmware to 1.05_beta0 in which case it will work with Wii U Pro controller, and only Wii U Pro Controller
No snes mini today so i guess i have to wait until monday.
I think I just had a big Karma point withdrawel, I actually got one online after the site switching to "no idea when it will be in" for about two hours
@Alikan wear sunscreen!
Edit: Oh Fahrenheit, that's probably cold then! Wear a jumper instead.
Got my ones mini this morning looking forward to play on it
Went to my rural American Wal-Mart @630 this morning.... They had 15, all sold at midnight.... Looks like I'm out on this one too
@MrGawain
...Are you sure your mom didn't buy one for herself?
My hubby actually talked about buying one (if spotting any locally) for his mother (60+) because when they were kids, DKC was her fave game.
Just got mine - it's been a LONG time since I had a product buzz like this - amazing for a £70 mini device! Nintendo did a great thing (minus the stock shortage).
Saving it for my wife's birthday - sort of. . . She's away this weekend and I'm in tomorrow night looking after the kids while all my mates go out on the lash. She's agreed that I should 'test' it to make sure it works ok!
True love!
Mine was just shipped last night.
the delivery estimate is on the 30th, so hopefully I'll be able to play it this weekend.
Got mine yesterday.... played until the early hours of the morning.
Touched fuzzy, got dizzy.
Looking forward to doing it all again after work.
@Finntendo
No, she's too busy with Ever Oasis at the moment.
Love the PDP case! I set my SNES Classic Mini up in a meeting room at work over lumch and played Mario Kart, Street Fighter and Super Mario World. Was fun!
got one at midnight at a wall-mart in South Carolina. they had 21 but a guy second in line was pissed they would not sell him 5 of them.. kudos to the store for saying one per customer!
@MariOnline In my SNES Mini the Platinum Points were inside the manual, have you looked there?
@Mart1ndo
If the Knights of NI had real horses you'd probably have it by now. You might want to have a shrubbery ready for them just in case. 😉
Got it waiting four hours at Walmart, surprisingly, they gave the 29 people tickets and had two people go at the cash registers at a time. Yeah, an organized event at Walmart is almost an oxymoron Worth it, got back 12:30 AM.
Walked in to Target 45 Mins after it opened and got one. They had six left.
Went to Toys R Us today after reading they would be selling them in-store and was told by a supervisor "they've already been pre-sold"!
Looks like I'll have to wait until more stock arrives but I've no idea when they'll get more.
Holy crap! I got one you guys!!!! I'm still in disbelief. It feels like I caught a Mewtwo with a pokeball.
I honestly also felt really bad for some of those that I saw get to the store maybe even 5 minutes after it had opened, because the line had already been formed and they were out of luck. Definitely felt their pain last year.
Also, some guy had the nerve to say he wanted 3. Everybody looked back with this "Are you serious?" look on their faces. It's people lile you, that are the problem!
Got the two I ordered today. Can't wait to play it
@thesilverbrick You want one? I was thinking on going over to BestBuy and see if I can pick one up since Walmart fudged my shipping and it won't be here until a week later. You'll be getting the one from Walmart. Just be MSRP + shipping. =]
@HawkeyeWii When I worked at Target, I was the interim Electronics manager when the actual one was really busy or was sick. I would always limit the consoles to 1 per customer per day. The store manager had my back on this as well. We got a lot of parents who were grateful especially during the holidays.
Also we got a lot of scammers trying to buy 5 3DS consoles, an Xbox, PS3, etc all in the same purchase so we had to limit things as well.
@Steven_the_2nd God bless you haha
I snagged one at Target this morning. They had 44 total which surprised me for a relatively small town.
@Nonno_Umby thanks
I went to my closest gamestop and was the 40th person in line out of the 50 they had. Glad I got one!
Last night my buddy tells my at 2:58 AM that the Walmart pre-orders he snagged for us got cancelled. At 3am Gamestop online orders go live, then Thinkgeek around 3:15am. Same crap as ever with the sites barely working. BUT I GOT IN AN ORDER THRU THINKGEEK JUST BARELY. Took forever and the confirmation page didn't even finish loading, but I got my email for it.
My two arrived this morning from GAME. Still got my NES sitting there from last Christmas unopened so Lord knows how long it'll be before I open the SNES lol. The box looks amazing though lol.
@thesilverbrick I picked up one at Target this morning and they had 42 available. Situation already looks a lot better than the NES Mini. I hope all the scalpers enjoy sitting on their extra systems.
@Steven_the_2nd I might take you up on that. I'll try my luck this afternoon and if I can't find one I'll gladly pay you for it, the shipping and even a few extra bucks for your troubles.
Got your SNES Classic Mini? Good joke...
I got my SNES classic and a set of the cables linked to in the article. The SNES classic is brilliant but the cables are a waste of money. I recommend waiting for 3rd party accessories to catch up or buy long hdmi/power cables instead.
UPDATE - It turns out my power supply was the issue, changing to another one meant the cable worked.
No, it's not frikin' arrived yet--and I ordered it directly through Nintendo UK, so I was really expecting it to arrive today.
It says "dispatched" on the site though, so it had better arrive in the next day or so--some gimp better not have nicked it!
The PDP SNES Classic Deluxe Carrying Case looks cool, but there's a problem with it. In pictures of it, the controllers have the cords wrapped around the controller. That just seems so wrong to me. I did that as a kid with my NES controllers until I learned better. If that's what I'd have to do to store my controller in it, then I'll have to pass.
Mine arrived a few hours ago. I'm surprised Game did not screw this up as it was the only site I managed to preorder one. £10 more, but better then £100 more from scalpers.
Well, thanks, Gamestop. I asked a while back while in the store if there was any way to reserve or pre-order, and was clearly told they would be strictly "walk in and try your luck on release day". So I did just that, and the first question he asked me was "did you pre-order?"
Pretty much felt like bouncing him off a few walls. The best they could offer was taking my name and number, with a "we'll call as soon as we hear something", and again no solid pre-order/pre-purchase option, so I guess if they do get more, it'll be another speed contest and heated competition.
Nintendo hasn't had a non-botched product launch in over 20 years,, with the N64. Ever since then it's been some kind of non-fun "game" just to get their latest system.
@MariOnline How do you add images to posts?
I have never quite worked that one out to be completely honest. lol
@Alundra-1998 upload the image to a server. You need to have the image uploaded and save the URL.
I use postimage.org It converts your image to a URL
@MariOnline Hey, congratulations! I am still waiting for mine.
Back on topic, not that I don't want longer cables but I prefer using the original controllers so if I buy something it would be the extension cable. Besides, wireless controllers might add some latency.
@BlueOcean thanks
Got mine and am absolutely over joyed with it. Looks so sweet sitting next to my Switch. Pre-bought some controller extenders, so pleased I did!!
@thesilverbrick I feel it won't be as bad as the NES, I got one on Amazon today around noon local time
sites that show inventory showed amazon.ca had them instock and sold out about 7-8 times over a few hour period today alone
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I will trade a plug for the EU version, our NA version is butts ugly compared to the EU one
oh well from a nostalgia view I grew up using the grey and purple rectangle so I am just happy to have found one day 1
I got one by luck. Went to Gamestop at around 630am. I was the third 10th person. Store only had 9 in stock decided to stay anyway.
@SlimeKnight I got one while sitting on the toliet at work, online shopping is a thing just an FYI
I can't believe I was lucky enough to walk into Gamestop, which I avoid like the plague, and picked one up as soon as they opened at 10. I felt like a kid again opening it up.
I put my chances at 5% of actually being able to get one. I lost all Joe after the NES mini. I hope everyone gets a chance to get one at a reasonable price.
Just picked my mini up at Gamestop- going straight into the Vault! 🤣😜
No, I didn't get mine. Wal-Mart screwed the pooch and left me SNES Classic-less😲
I'm seeing some consumer complaint reviews showing up on that Hori controller which has me shocked as they don't produce garbage.
Supposedly the things don't play nice doing diagonals which kind of defeats its very existence as it's so made for Street Fighter.
The controllers should all have a home button on them IMO
I still can't believe I managed to walk into GameStop today and they told me they had two non preorder copies left.
This was after I went to Target and Shopko and was told they sold out since that morning. Walmart the night before.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE
Don't know what TV you've got, but Im powering my SNES mini off of the USB socket on the side of mine. It's pretty neat actually, I don't have to go wading into the cable jungle round back to find a free power socket.
Those prices are very high! It's just a controller for an old snes machine. 20 euro max should be each! Nothing major here. You can almost get a second snes classic mini with 2 controllers. Well as the saying goes... there's always an idiot
@MariOnline Awesome, i still have my original SNES, but as you said the feel of opening this was truly great. The people that say 'why bother, get a PI ets' this is why bother.
How do these guys always manage to post links that do not work??? Man iw ant that HORI commander but its sold out everywhere.
@mikegamer No need Hackchi will be hacking this is a couple of days and that will be included or alternatively just press L R start select right now, most games will go straight back to menu.
Mine arrived from Best Buy on launch day, I was impressed.
It was the result of many months watching my phone at all hours for Twitter alerts. Weird way to shop.
@MariOnline
Mine came with 300 points.
@Mart1ndo yea I found it later inside the instructions manual. Did you get the poster like the mericans. I didn't.
@MariOnline
I didn't even know about a poster. No got no poster. I would have liked one though.
@Mart1ndo we always end up paying more and getting less for our monies 😉
I just want more games on this. "Turtles in Time, Mario all-stars, Sunset riders"
The controllers for this are 100 times better then NES mini ones (the new snes ones work with it too, ) and the fact you get 2, is just perfect.
@JaxonH Indeed, they should know this by noe as we reported it before launch...
It's arrived
@SmallFryUnify Rather than have it go online, which goes against the very nature of what the console is imo (a no-hassle retro console without the worries of stuff like setting up online accounts, managing digital store and adding credit cards, etc), I might have had it so the cartridge slot actually worked on the thing and took mini compilation cartridges that would each contain another 20 or so classic SNES games. So, in a year or two you'd have the main system plus say 5 cartridges that each have 20 games on them, and you'd simply insert the cart you want and select the game you want to play from the list. I think that could have been very cool and actually would have made it a fully functioning console with a handful of working carts to select between (and homebrew coders or even proper developers could technically make some brand new cartridge games for it too, and possibly re-release some of their old games that weren't included in the compilation carts).
@YANDMAN I'm pretty sure that combo doesn't go back to the menu; they only reset the game, and yes, I did try. Only controllers with "Home" can go back to the menu.
@mikegamer In fact its only one controller with a home button that works, so dont waste your money trying just anyone.
@YANDMAN Your point?
