This game is worth getting just for the quality of the music and backgrounds. Plus trying to meet the requirements to fight Kyo gives some single player incentive.
SNK dropped the Playmore part of their name to signify them leaving the Pachinko business behind to focus on the gaming market like in the old days. So far, we only have KOF XIV and the Eshop rereleases to show for it so I'm interested in seeing where they're heading next.
@koekiemonster You say that as though getting Neo Geo games is a bad thing. Getting a lesser version of another Neo Geo game is the bad part. I'm still crossing my fingers that we'll get FF Special, KOF '95, KOF 2000 and Samsho II before Hamster gives up on the Switch.
They've hardly ran out of quality Neo Geo titles. KOF '95 to '97 and 2000 to 2003, Samurai Shodown 1 to 3 and V to V Special, Fatal Fury 2 to Real Bout 2, Last Blade 1 to 2, Art of Fighting 1 to 3, I can go on forever.
Shinkiro's artwork is fantastic, so I'll definitely get this one! It sure beats the KOF '96 artbook that came with that strange bonus disc I have for my Neo Geo CDZ.
@UK-Nintendo Still waitin' for The King of Fighters '95/2000, Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Shodown II/V Special before I'm satisfied. Until then, keep 'em comin'!
Garou MOTW is FINALLY here! I'm sick of only legally owning the crappy DotEmu Steam release. The tablet stand mode + pro controller setup works surprisingly well for fighting games. The joy-con D-pad is awful, unfortunately. So no proper handheld Neo Geo goodness for me.
Interesting. So I guess the player did have the ability to drop the Master Sword to free up inventory space at one point, which would warp it back to the pedestal. Maybe that was how you'd restore it whenever it ran out of energy in an earlier build but it was thought of as being too discouraging and impractical if the player would have to abandon what they were doing to teleport back to Korok Forest to get the sword again, making them decide to go with the streamlined system we have today instead.
@gojiguy you can configure the buttons on Samsho IV at least. I never found a reason to check with any other releases since their buttons were just where I wanted them to be. As for training mode, yeah, I don't get why they don't have the AES versions included either.
@DragonEleven With that certain barrier, you can get in again by doing the same dismount trick again from the other side after calling your horse when you're a decent distance away from the barrier (perhaps the horse teleports slightly closer to you when you call it from a great distance, putting it outside the barrier? Just speculating...).
@Anti-Matter As someone who spends a lot of time in the hospital, having a portable time-sink when I'm feeling healthy enough to do something makes for a nice distraction from my illness. I'm sorry if that makes me seem unproductive.
I actually had to look up a guide to figure out the constellation shrine's puzzle. And I still have no idea how the player is meant to figure it out on their own!
In previous Zelda titles, the devs had grievances with making sure Link didn't look TOO cool and suave, now they're aiming for the opposite? Personally, I'll always prefer the lazy, kind of doofy peaceful young man who has to take up arms for the greater good than the dedicated prodigy knight of BotW.
I can't really see this console being a long-term winner past release as more and more issues from users are unearthed if it continues at this pace and Nintendo doesn't go out of its way to do some fast damage-control to keep the trust of potential buyers.
I love this game! It's been a long, long time since I've experienced a game where I just can't put it down and end up doing nothing but playing it for entire days. DB Fusions is that kind of game!
The ALBW team certainly showed they had the guts to go back and reinvent a formula while also being tactful enough to keep everything that made the franchise special intact (including aspects that were seemingly lost to the ever-moving times) with that game.
@MitchVogel I did appreciate the encyclopedic sections covering each game's enemies including the damage they deal and take, their weakness and the optimal way of dealing with them. Beyond that, I also think that not including 7-10 and Mega Man & Bass was just plain lazy.
I love the encyclopedic section and how it tells you how much damage each enemy deals and takes and what weapon they're weak to. It came really handy in teaching me more effective ways to get through each level.
I'd like seeing her incorporated into the games like what Pokemon has been doing. You choose between the two characters and the one you didn't pick shows up now and again.

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th August (Europe)
I've been waiting for KOF 2000 ever since I got my Switch on launch-day!
Re: The Next Wave Of ACA Neo Geo Titles For Switch Is Confirmed
I've got my eyes set squarely on KOF 2000 right now,
just a few days to go!
Re: Nintendo Download: 3rd August (Europe)
Nothin' for me here.
Luckily, my most anticipated ACA release, KOF 2000 is due out next week!
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th July (Europe)
Still waiting for KOF '95, Samsho II and Samsho V SP.
It's nice to see that sports fans get some love too, though.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th July (Europe)
It's been a long time since I've been able to mark off three games to buy! Today is a good day, indeed!
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th July (Europe)
Fatal Fury Special is a keeper even if you bought FF2.
Re: Samurai Shodown Is Next Week’s New ACA Neo Geo Title
Samsho II can't be too far away then, hopefully.

Re: Fatal Fury Special Is Next Week’s ACA Neo Geo Game
I'm getting more and more anxious for KOF '95 and 2000's Eshop release as I'm worrying that Hamster'll stop weekly releases eventually.
Re: Fatal Fury Special Is Next Week’s ACA Neo Geo Game
Awesome, this one's a keeper!

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd June (Europe)
A shame that Fatal Fury Special is just an enhanced version of FF 2,
So I'll just wait for that one.
Re: Review: Sengoku (Switch eShop / Neo Geo)
They've hardly ran out of quality Neo Geo titles.
KOF '95 to '97 and 2000 to 2003,
Samurai Shodown 1 to 3 and V to V Special,
Fatal Fury 2 to Real Bout 2,
Last Blade 1 to 2,
Art of Fighting 1 to 3,
I can go on forever.

Re: Dragon Ball FighterZ Could Come To Switch If The Demand Is There, Says Producer
Heck yeah, I would!
Re: Shock Troopers 2nd Squad Storms Onto The Switch eShop This Week
@UK-Nintendo Still waitin' for The King of Fighters '95/2000, Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Shodown II/V Special before I'm satisfied.
Until then, keep 'em comin'!
Re: Nintendo Download: 25th May (Europe)
I'd rather take KOF 2000 personally, but '99 is fine too.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th May (Europe)
Still waiting for Samsho II and V SP
as well as KOF 2000 and Last Blade 2...

Re: Garou: Mark of the Wolves Punches Its Way to the Switch eShop Soon
YES! Now, do I dare dream for Samurai Shodown II or even better yet, V Special?
Re: The ACA Neo Geo Series Has Gobbled Up Plenty Of Loose Change On The Switch eShop
I'm lovin' it so far!
Give me Samurai Shodown II, Garou: Mark of The Wolves and Metal Slug X and I'll be golden.
Re: Nintendo Reveals "The Master Trials", the First DLC Pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
The Korok mask is a godsend!
The trial of the sword sounds like it'll be something to finally spend all those excessive hearts on, too.
I'm stoked!
Re: Deals: Nintendo Switch - Upcoming Goodies For May And June
Finally, a chance to own a physical copy of Cave Story +!
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th April (Europe)
Mario Kart 8 and Kamiko for me!
Re: Rainway App Promises 60fps Streaming Of PC Games To Consoles Like The Nintendo Switch
So I can leave my PC at home and use this device, right?
That's the big question that sells my attention.
Re: Random: Nintendo Officially States Ganondorf's Last Name
Nice. I was worried they'd make his official name something that wasn't ingrained in my head from childhood.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th April (Europe)
@CapricornDavid Was hoping for Fatal Fury Special. I love that game on my Neo Geo CDZ!

Re: Mr. Shifty Devs Tackling Frame Rate Issues After Initially Suggesting You Should Pick Steam Over Switch
Korok Forest doesn't requite twitch reflexes to play,
this game does.
Re: Nintendo Download: 6th April (Europe)
Still no Samurai Shodown IV, huh?
Re: SwitchCharge Is A Case Which Gives Your Nintendo Switch 12 Hours Of Stamina
@JudgeMethos I'm sick a lot and playing a game helps dull the pain and spend time at the hospital.
I'm sorry if you feel that is a waste of my life.
Re: Samurai Shodown IV Will Be Hacking And Slashing At The Euro Switch eShop Next Week
AWESOME! This is my favorite Samsho title!

Re: Hamster Corporation Confirms Next Batch Of ACA Neo Geo Classics
Still waiting for Samurai Shodown II and IV...
Getting a port of V Special after all these years would be a dream come true but I can't dare to hope!

Can't wait for DB Fusions!
Re: Feature: Ten Game Boy Advance Games You Should Play
In my opinion, Mega Man Zero 3 is by far the best original platformer on the GBA.

Give that Link costume pink hair and I'll think about it.

Re: Donkey Kong Champ Billy Mitchell Loses Legal Battle Against Regular Show Parody
Not necessarily feeling that he should've won, but those reasons stated for why he didn't are rather bizarre and weak.
Re: Review: The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure (Wii U)
@IceClimbers I'd add The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction to that list. The things that game allows you to do are amazing, incredible even!
