really admire you guys' tradition of always having a poll for this that stretches back to when there was only like 7 games being released digitally weekly on Nintendo platforms lol. times have changed
kinda nutty idea, giving workers better conditions increases quality of the product! i always figured crunch was the best way to squeeze a product out of them
When Sega says "retro", they usually mean releasing the same 30 Genesis and early arcade games. I would love to see some actual support for Saturn, Dreamcast and later arcade games. Sega has such a strong backlog of games that they choose to ignore for whatever reason.
@Heavyarms55 It really is something you have to experience yourself to really appreciate. I never understood why people went bonkers for the Soulsborne games before I tried Dark Souls, but after playing it for a bit and playing through Bloodborne I was hooked. The way the levels flow between each other, the huge variety in builds (at least in Dark Souls, Bloodborne doesn't have that much variety), the huge bossfights, the huge feeling of finally killing that boss you've been stuck on all night (or all day, or all week, or all month, ect.), the super cool lore, I don't know...it's one of the few games that can make me so furious and frustrated but never want to stop playing.
On one hand, having 1 game at launch is a horrible move. On the other hand, I cried watching the trailer at the end of the presentation holy crap I need this now
Something just seems... off about the look of the game. Probably because It's so zoomed out/characters are so tiny, everything just seems weird. It's a shame, the concept art they show looks good. I just wish Monolith Soft would follow suit and release a game on PC; Xenoblade X was really held back by the Wii U.
Jeebus, this all pretty far into high rank. Seems weird that they would put such high-level content out so quickly, especially considering the July content wasn't too high.
So what exactly is the appeal of Pokemon Ranger? It always just seemed like drawing circles really fast around Pokemon, but there has to be something more for people to like it.
Never understood why Nintendo chose to censor this game. It's obviously looking to win over the Persona/FE:A/Fates crowd, and they eat this kind of fanservice up. Glad someone uploaded a patch though. I personally won't be playing with it, since I don't care enough about the lack of fanservice. I'm buying it used, since I just hate censorship.
Does anyone know if this has the same overworld/battle system as DQIX where you can pick what monsters to fight? Or does it use the random battles from the original?
@Angelic_Lapras_King Konami will make a Mario Party pachinko machine before they let someone use the rights to something they own, if they even have the rights to the concept.
It's good that they have something planned, but this seems like they just needed some filler content. All 3 games have already been released in Japan already, so it's not like they can really announce anything other than all they ways they censored #FE. And DQVII's release date, I guess.
Disappointed in no concrete release date, but then again, between Monster Hunter Generations, Dragon Quest VII, and Etrian Odyssey Untold 2, I'm not sure how much time I can really devote to it right now ha ha.
I usually just separate the competitive and casual sides of Pokemon. I only do competitive stuff on Pokemon Showdown, since it lets me have all the fun of a comp match with none of the horrible grinding required for an actual competitive team. It also enforces the Smogon tier list, which is leagues fairer than playing on console, since you have to basically bring a team of 6 legendaries/ubers to stand a chance there. When I play Pokemon on console, I just play with whatever I feel like, even if I'm playing with friends.
Anyone remember the DSi companion app you could get for Mariners games? It was also on the 3DS eShop. I never used it since I live in Chicago, but I always thought it was kind of funny.
Mighty No. 9 will never actually come out, mark my words. Inafune has swindled you out of your money. @Al_Godoy I'll bite the bait. The Division is mediocre, and isn't likely to be any better than a lot of the games on this list. Or if you just mean it's better than anything on the Wii U completely, I have to ask whether or not you have actually played a Wii U game before.
Seems cool, and I really like the first one, but I'll buy it used because of censorship regardless. Also, I hope there's a way for Tiz to get a haircut, he looks like a homeless person.
I think this whole "10 new Pokemon" thing is actually the right way to go. Think about it; Pokemon Black and White added over 150 new Pokemon, and everyone hated it. Everyone loves Pokemon X and Y, and thats because it only added 60-ish new Pokemon. The fans don't want new Pokemon, they want a new region with old Pokemon! I'm so glad Masuda and Game Freak have finally understood the error of their ways and can now create Pokemon games that are truly worth playing.
Here's my obligatory "The person playing this game for the footage is bad at Pokken" comment. I know it adds nothing to the discussion, but I want to say it anyways. I knew the game looked the teensiest bit blurry, but I don't think this holds it back too much. It's still a good time. If theres a game that's held back by being on Wii U it's almost certainly Xenoblade X, however.
So while I don't think any of those games (Retail side) are undeserving of a top 10 placement...it never sits well with me when remakes and ports make up a significant part of a list, especially when one takes up the number one spot. Don't get me wrong, OOT3D is rad as heck, and fixes a lot, but this should be about 3DS games, as in originals, rather than remakes of (then) 12 year old games. So I would personally replace those 3 games with: Shin Megami Tensei IV Kid Icarus: Uprising Bravely Default In no particular order.
Games in the mail, it'll be perfect for spring break next week. Did anyone else buy the Hori Pro Pad for this game? It was the same controller used in the arcade machines, it looked neato.
Miyamoto says he doesn't want to make the game easy so everyone can complete them, and that you should feel an accomplishment for completing them. But by putting this in the game, isn't all difficulty removed? It's not like Mario where you still need to deal with platforming, you can just fly right through the stage. And it's not like anyone is playing Star Fox for the plot. So why does this mode exist? Who is going to use this?
@LemonSlice https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smegma. Here's a warning, there's a very NSFW picture.. Unless you're being sarcastic, in which case I feel silly.
On the other hand, I'd like to try out some of the words Nintendo forgot, just to see how fast I can get banned without using words on the list.
Really think this game look like something on the Neo-Geo more than a SNES game, albeit with a brighter color palette. Still looking forward to it though.
Glad to know Nintendo doesn't encourage open relationships. Way to go Nintendo, I'm glad you still think it's the 50s where everyone is straight and wants a perfect nuclear family and everyone is treated like an innocent little flower.
@Shiryu So about that Madworld sequel...it already exists sorta, it's called Anarchy Reigns and it came out 3 years ago. Unless you mean that you want a remake of Anarchy Reigns, which would be cool as well.
