Following hot on the heels of the announcement of Europe's next Splatfest, Nintendo of America has recently confirmed a Splatfest to be taking place this weekend at the same time. While it may be that this latest topic still isn't as awesome as its Pokémon predecessor, it nonetheless seems to be an appropriate topic with spring being just on the rise.
The battle this time around will be between whether you'd rather build a sandcastle or a snowman, and it'll be taking place at the usual time. Remember that this Splatfest will be the debut of the new rules implemented in the latest update, so keep on your toes. Here's the announcement tweet:
What do you think? Which side will you be taking? What topic would you like to see in a future Splatfest? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Not that I care for snow I'd much rather build a snowman. I may log on for this one to check out those new rules.
Sandcastle because that's the only one I've actually done.
a sand castle obviously holds a lot of sand... SANDERS!!! that snowman is formed by a snow tower... TRUMP tower!!! i wonder if nlife was informed of the splatfest via unsecured email from a private server. nintendo's gone political!
"Do you want to build a snowman?"
Let it go, dangit....
Also, it occurs to me that I have STILL not purchased Splatoon. Maybe I'm better off waiting for the sequel...
I'm going with team sandcastle, but I'm curious as to what the new Splatfest rules will be like in practice. Maybe the underdog team won't always win now.
Snowman, obviously. No one wants to get a bunch of sand stuck in their crevices.
Snowman, because that's the only thing I can make in the desolate waste land I live in.
Pokken Can wait! Snow all the way. I look forward to it every year. Now with the warm winds blowing North this season and global warming we won't get as much of it
But what if... I wanted to build a snow castle?
I picked snowman because I live in a warm state. We never get snow and I've never been to snow.
In splatoon there are 3 inklings. 3+10=13+2=15 Divided by 5 equals 3. Splatoon= illuminati
@wiggleronacid That brand of heresy will not be accepted here.
@DarthNocturnal
You are missing out. I'm guessing Splatoon's sequel will be release after 2 years (2018-2019). Good luck waiting.
Go away, Anna.
@DarthNocturnal actually callie calls it snowbae.
she also uses fleek and I can't even.
That being said I can take a break form pokken for this I don't mind.
No, I don't want to build a snowman! I don't want to hear any Frozen references ever again for the rest of my life!
both the European and us ones aren't bad, which is weird because usually the European one sucks
#TeamSnowman!
I have never seen the movie Frozen, but I love winter! Winter is always the best.
I'm also more partial to snowmen due to missing out on snow this year. Kansas weather likes to be random. Sure SOME parts of the state got a ton of snow off and on, but none here.
I guess snowman. I was Frosty in my 2nd grade school Christmas play (the only girl to get a lead).
@MitchVogel I'm glad they picked up on that. It looks less and less like a coincidence each time it happens. Every time I saw I picked the more popular team I already knew I lost, and it always held true.
I love snow, but I would rather build a sand castle on the beach. When we build a snowman it usually comes out similar to every snowman ever built, but when we're at the beach and building sand castles, every single one is completely different.
.....and that folks is how you post a very nerdy response.
@DarthNocturnal I'd say you're better off picking up the game now, as it's one of the Wii U's best and most definitive games, which also happens to be best value it's ever been (you'll be buying a far heftier game than anyone who bought it on launch day).
Even the single-player is worth most of the asking price (at least in Europe, where Amazon is selling it for a piffling £23.40/$33.50 - which is less than half the RRP for most Wii U games).
I wish the new update would have let you keep your Splatfest shirts.
Good job, for making the most obvious joke as the subtitle. But on a more serious note, it's going to be interesting to see which will get more votes. On one hand, Frozen is an over-rated film (but still pretty good, to make myself clear), to the point where its fans like to reference it in unrelated situations, such as is evident in the subtitle. Needless to say, it can get annoying at times. Then you have the people who despise Frozen purely because of its fanbase, and will take any chance to fight said fanbase.
I don't like snow, and I've never built a snowman, so... sandcastles for me!
After building both, I vote Snowman. Easier to make and it's more durable. Plus it's easier to tell which one is clean to play with
Frozen meme inbound! Head for cover!
What's a snowman?
This one's tough, but I think Snowman will win popularity and lose victories. I will, however, be going with Snowman because sand castles can either be really cool when made by a pro, or literally a lump of wet sand when made by most of the population.
