Re: Random: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS Picked Up a People's Choice Award

BlueNitrous

@edgedino I'm almost positive this guy has changed his comment from what it was before. It originally read, "Smash Bros is still the best modern fighting game to exist in 2015."

The revised statement is correct, but the only competition for best modern fighting game on the Wii U is Injustice. Its honestly pretty childish that the poster would change their comment like that, but whatever.

Re: Microsoft's Phil Spencer "Would Be Happy" To See Nintendo Games On Xbox One

BlueNitrous

This isn't news. Sony would love to have stuff like Mario and Zelda on PS4, it would give them an even larger monopoly. Hell, a solid Pokemon game would even bring the Vita back to the public eye. But I think Nintendo is definitely going down the road to being a 3rd party. Nintendo signed its own death warrant when they released the Wii, a console designed to make a quick buck off people who wouldn't stick around for the next console. The Wii U's name and terrible first ad campaign were the final nails in the coffin. Next add some cencorship, cringy localizations...Nintendo home consoles are dead. They can't compete anymore. Nintendo can keep the dedicated handheld market going, but even that will slowly die as more and more people start looking at mobile phones as viable gaming platforms (and those are only good for emulation imo). The NX won't do anything. It would be a miracle if it did. Nintendo needs to just call it quits and go 3rd party, they'd make some serious cash. Also I'd love to play Nintendo games on steam, then I only have to have a PC and nothing else.

Re: Final Fantasy's Cloud Is Set To Cause Some Strife In Super Smash Bros. On Wii U And 3DS

BlueNitrous

I don't care how this happened, I don't care why this happened, I don't even care that this doesn't make any sense at all. I love it.
@LetsGoRetro
Once Nintendo shuts down the eShop servers, you won't be able to get any of the DLC. That won't happen for a long time, but it will eventually. It would be cool if Nintendo released a Sm4sh Ultimate Edition with all the DLC though.

Re: Video: Indulge in the Weirdness of This Genei Ibun Roku #FE Footage

BlueNitrous

I love SMT and FE, but this game... I don't know, man. i feel like it's going to end up being a very bland JRPG, and the gameplay shown seems painfully standard for the genre. It's seems pretty disappointing, especially since both series have such fantastic gameplay. I'll still buy it, but I hope I'm wrong about this game being bad.

Re: Review: 3D Gunstar Heroes (3DS eShop)

BlueNitrous

3DS can always use more run n gun platformers. One of my favorite genres, glad to see a sort of resurgence in the genre lately with games like Broforce and Gunman Clive coming out as well. Also, please put Broforce on 3DS or Wii U. I need that to happen.

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Retail Games of 2015 - Summer Edition

BlueNitrous

The 3DS looks pretty sweet right now, actually. EO2U looks good as always, Extreme Butoden looks awesome, Chibi-Robo looks surprisingly fun, and I really hope that LBX is good. We never get any Gundam-esque games in the west, and it has been far too long since we got a Custom Robo game. I just hope the whole "based on a kid's anime" thing doesn't end up bringing it down.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Isn't Bringing Devil's Third To North America

BlueNitrous

Wow. Quite the little storm we have going on here. Everyone here seems to be in one of 2 camps: The "I didn't want this "Mature" game anyways" camp that is mostly made up of people whose parents won't let them play a game like this or people who dislike "M" rated games to feel superior to those who do, not because they actually dislike them, and the "This game looked neat" camp made up of people who just really wanted a multiplayer shooter on Wii U for whatever reason. I'll be frank with you: the only reason I was interested in this game was because it was the type of thing I don't usually see on Nintendo platforms, so I was curious to see how it would go. It actually looked a little cool, but I can't say I'm super sad that I won't be playing it. And I don't think that this means that Devil's Third is bad, either, as NOA isn't known for quite understanding what we want. Remember that time they didn't give us the 3 best JRPGs on Wii and we had to sign our first-born children into slavery in China to get them even after NOE already made English versions? That was realllllllll smart of you Nintendo. I just hope that their decision is for the best.
Or maybe the game is straight ballin and they bring over the European version so we can kill terrorists on a Nintendo console. Whupee.

also if none of this made sense keep in mind im writing this at 4 in the morning so have some gosh darn respect maybe pls and thank you

Re: Nintendo Is A Slave To Its Past Success, Says Gearbox President Randy Pitchford

BlueNitrous

Nintendo might be bringing out new IPs, but are they the kind to appeal to the "core" gaming audience Nintendo lacks? No, they aren't. Is the same audience who buys the new Assasin's Creed, Call of Duty, and EA Sports games every year going to be interested in Splatoon or Codename S.T.E.A.M.? They aren't right now, at least. Nintendo's new IPs are designed to appeal to people who already are Nintendo fans and have a Wii U or 3DS (but the 3DS is selling good so thats not really important). Nintendo needs to appeal to someone who doesn't already have their console, and they really aren't doing that right now. Be honest, who actually bought a Wii U for Splatoon?

Re: Poll: How Excited Are You About Nintendo's E3 Games?

BlueNitrous

Fire Emblem has gone the way of Shin Megami Tensei; the games have become more casualized due to the popularity of 1 game in their respective series that catered heavily to casuals and also introduced a lot of anime bullcrap that wasn't present before, so Persona 3 = Awakening. Fates = Persona 4, I guess. Also, not enough people want SMT X FE on here. That's going to be game of the century, mark my words.

Re: Video: Here's Your Handy E3 2015 Wii U And 3DS Trailer Round Up

BlueNitrous

Star Fox was obviously the big show stealer at Nintendo's E3 presentation, but they at least had some other games to show that looked neat. Chibi-Robo Zip Lash looks sort of neat actually, LOZ Triforce Heroes seems like it could be a good time if its anything like the DSiware 4 Swords Adventures game, but Metroid Prime Federation Force seems... not at all what I wanted, actually. As for games Nintendo has already shown off, Hyrule Warriors Legends looks nifty, Xenoblade X is already a must buy, Fire Emblem Fates might be really good but I'm not sure as of now, and FE X SMT looks straight ballin. A little disappointed that there's no Pokemon (even Pokken Tournament), but whatever. Nintendo gets a B from me, they didn't show enough new stuff.

Re: Street Fighter Legend Ryu And Fire Emblem's Roy Found In Super Smash Bros. Patch Code

BlueNitrous

The amount of people who are disappointed in Ryu being included astounds me. All the other DLC characters have already been playable in Melee and Brawl, so at least this time we're getting a new character. And who cares that there haven't been any Street Fighter games on Nintendo home consoles in years? Did anyone cry when Snake was in Brawl, despite MGS being a Sony series? On the other hand, I hope this means a new Capcom fighter for Wii U. Since it cant be SFV, maybe Street Fighter Alpha 4? Or even Tatsunoko vs. Capcom 2?

Re: Lucas DLC Confirmed for 14th June Release on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS

BlueNitrous

@Chaoz I'm only replying to your comment since yours was the most long winded, but I'm talking to everyone who replied to me, mind you. I'll take the Lucas is different point- I've never been too keen on studying the "competitive scene" of a party/fighter/brawler game, especially when there are so many other fighting games to play out there. I will argue for my DLC point though. Nintendo is rapidly approaching the top of the mountain of awful DLC who- sorry, this site is G-rated. Let's just say that if these companies were people, they would be selling their bodies, ya feel? Now, Nintendo is certainly not as bad as say, Ubisoft or Capcom, not by a long shot, in fact. But they have been making strides in the wrong direction. Remember all that DLC in Fire Emblem Awakening? Or even Splatoon! "But that DLC is free!" you cry. No, the amiibos! With a large number of extra missions and costumes locked behind difficult to find pieces of plastic, Nintendo has certainly made a hefty profit from their near-useless figurines. Why has Nintendo done this? Not out of the goodness of their heart, I assure you. Nintendo has used their grip on your childhood memories to squeeze money from your wallet. What about other companies, though? They don't have my nostalgic feelings! This is my answer to the "optional" content claim: people want the whole game. I've seen people in this very comment section say that they don't especially like Lucas but will buy him any way to have that complete roster. And companies bank on this idea for that very reason, because they know they can make a quick buck with this very strategy. Of course, why am I complaining? All fighting games have ludicrous amounts of DLC why should SSB be any different? (I implore all of you to check DOA5's DLC listings. The cheapest DLC is over $50 FOR COSTUMES. Jesus Christ.)

Re: Lucas DLC Confirmed for 14th June Release on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS

BlueNitrous

Yes! Another clone! Just what Smash Bros needed to freshen up the competitive scene before Evo!
@MikeW All DLC is a cash grab. The only reason a developer would release content after the release of a game is to make more money off the people who buy it so they have a complete game.
@thegreninja47 His attacks line up perfectly with Ness' attacks, the only difference is speed and power. By that standard, Dr. Mario, Toon Link, Lucina, Ganondorf, and Dark Pit aren't clones either.

Re: Poll: Did The Splatoon Global Testfire Hit Its Targets?

BlueNitrous

I don't know. The game felt very "Alright". It was good, but it certainly didn't live up to the hype. It had its moments and was a good time, but I don't know if it will be worth 60$ at launch. I might pick it up after the free updates roll out. Maybe PC gaming has spoiled me, but not being able to select a server or create a game for just me and my friends seems... not fun at all, to be honest.

Re: Play 8-Bit Retro Squid Games While You Wait For An Online Match In Splatoon

BlueNitrous

I'm appalled people are defending this. On-disc-day-one DLC? That I have to find for sale somewhere because they are all sold out online? That are probably going to sell for ludicrous amounts of money? This is absolutely unacceptable! If another company did this, like Sega, Sony, Microsoft, EA, Blizzard, Ubisoft, any company really, there would be massive backlash! But no! It's okay when Nintendo does it! I've had it up to here (relative to sea level) with Nintendo fans. I love the Wii U and I want it to succeed, but not with a community that blindly eats up everything that Nintendo sends flying out of their filty butts! Give Nintendo crap for this! Nintendo CAN DO WRONG! AND THEY DO! Buying worthless trinkets like amiibo is only going to tell Nintendo that being greedy is what we want them to do!

Re: Gallery: Feast Your Eyeballs on These Xenoblade Chronicles X Wallpapers

BlueNitrous

Is no one going to mention Xenoblade X's week one DLC? Japan gets 4 characters with new Dolls/Skells and a handfull of missions and quests for the low low price of roughly $20. Seems as though Nintendo no longer cares about releasing a complete game. First Hyrule Warriors, then Mario Kart 8, even Smash Bros. wasn't safe from hastily released DLC. Nintendo is officially the EA of Asia, cousin to Ubisoft, the EA of Europe, and EA, the EA EA EA.
