Earlier this week The Pokémon Company reacted to leaks online with a new Japanese trailer revealing a number of new 'mon for Pokémon Sun and Moon. The Western subsidiaries have now played catch up in order to release localised trailers and a host of details over on the official website.
As we have in the past we thought we'd compile the information for you in one handy place, so let's get to it. Enjoy!
Official Trailer (English version)
Grubbin
Grubbin relies on its sturdy jaw as a weapon in battle and as a tool for burrowing through the earth. Grubbin loves electricity, which is why it can be found near power plants and substations. By wrapping tree branches in the sticky threads that it spews from its mouth, Grubbin can swing around like an actor on suspension wires! It evolves into...
Charjabug
Charjabug stays perfectly still in preparation for Evolution, and often spends time with its body half-buried in the earth. Charjabug is able to store up electricity. It can store enough power to run a household for a whole day. The power it stores can be provided to other Pokémon, so it can also serve as a battery!
Charjabug has the Battery Ability, an Ability not seen before in any other Pokémon. The Battery Ability allows it to raise the power of allies' special moves. It evolves into...
Vikavolt
Vikavolt is like a fortress that zooms through the forest, firing a beam of electricity from its mouth. Its huge jaws control the electricity it blasts out.
Vikavolt is adept at acrobatic flight maneuvers like tailspins and sharp turns. It can fly at high speeds even as it weaves its way through the complicated tangle of branches in the forest.
Vikavolt clasps Charjabug with its legs and uses it as an extra battery. Even if a battle drags on, it can use the electric power from Charjabug to continue firing off powerful moves. When Vikavolt is engaged in a fierce aerial fight, it releases Charjabug to make itself lighter and increase its mobility.
Tapu Koko
Tapu Koko is a special Pokémon that protects the area where it lives. It's called the guardian deity of Melemele Island, one of the islands of the Alola region. Although it's known as a guardian deity, it's a surprisingly fickle Pokémon, and will not necessarily come to your aid if you need help.
Despite that, this Pokémon has a strong sense of curiosity. If it becomes interested in a person or in other Pokémon, it may come to play or battle with them.
Tapu Koko's Ability is Electric Surge, an Ability never before seen in a Pokémon. Electric Surge fills the field around the Pokémon's feet with electricity when it appears, raising the power of any Electric-type moves for Pokémon on the ground and preventing any Pokémon from falling asleep. Tapu Koko can learn a new move called Nature's Madness, which slams into an opponent and reduces that Pokémon's HP by half!
Tapu Koko can store up electricity by enclosing itself in the shells on its arms. And it also appears to enter this form during other, special times...
Togedemaru
Togedemaru is the Roly-Poly Pokémon that gathers electricity and stores it. The long needle that grows from the back of its head works as a lightning rod to attract electricity. With this reservoir of electrical energy, Togedemaru is able to release powerful Electric-type attacks!
Covering its body is a pattern of fur with strands like needles. That means that Togedamaru can roll itself up, and presto—it's a ball of prickles!
Some skilled Trainers have developed the strategy of getting other Pokémon to unleash Electric-type attacks on Togedemaru, which absorbs their power to use in a response attack!
On days when lightning strikes, you can sometimes see Togedemaru gather and bristle up their needles, waiting to be struck by lightning.
Drampa
Drampa are dragons that live alone in the mountains 10,000 feet above sea level. Since they can't obtain the Berries they feed on at that range, they descend to the base of the mountains at dawn every day.
Drampa love communicating with people and Pokémon.
Drampa are especially gentle with children and often appear at schools and parks where children gather.
While Drampa is usually a very gentle Pokémon, it can fly into a rage if a child it cares for is hurt in some way. The Dragon Breath move that it fires off at such times is powerful enough to blow down buildings!Drampa can have the Berserk Ability, an Ability that no other Pokémon has ever had. With the Berserk Ability, this Pokémon's Sp. Atk will go up by 1 when its HP drops below half.
Cutiefly
Cutiefly can detect the auras of living things, including people, Pokémon, and plants. They search out flowers by the color and brightness of their auras and then gather their nectar and pollen.
When living creatures are excited, it seems that their auras resemble those of flowers in full bloom. As a result, these Pokémon tend to gather near people or Pokémon feeling particularly happy or sad.
Cutiefly mostly live in the fields and meadows on the outskirts of cities, but they sometimes appear in towns and even inside buildings, drawn in by the emotions of the living beings of the community.
Bruxish
Bruxish emits a strong psychic power from the protuberance on its head. When its opponents are bathed in this power, they're stricken with terrible headaches and fall unconscious. As it emits its psychic power, it grinds its teeth loudly. When nearby Pokémon hear the sound of Bruxish's teeth gnashing, they sense danger and flee immediately.
In the Alola region, lifeguards let Bruxish remain in their area to prevent dangerous Water-type Pokémon from gathering there.
Bruxish digs holes in the seafloor, leaving just the protuberance on its head exposed, while emitting a low level of psychic power. This serves as radar, so when it detects prey, it can leap to the attack!
Bruxish can have the new Ability Dazzling, which no other Pokémon has ever had. The Dazzling Ability prevents opponents from using priority moves that normally strike first.
Zygarde's Cores and Cells
The Cores and Cells That Make Up Zygarde:
Each of Zygarde's forms are made by gathering together its cell-like components called Cores and Cells. Neither Cores nor Cells have the power to battle on their own as individuals. Only when gathered together can they take action—as Zygarde.
Zygarde Core:
Cores are cell-like components that make up Zygarde, and only a small number of them exist. Cores serve as brains, and by gathering Cells, they can create Zygarde's different forms. Cores have their own wills and sometimes act on their own.
Zygarde's Cells:
Cells make up the parts of Zygarde other than its brain. There are many more Cells than there are Cores, and they exist all around the Alola region. Cells do not possess wills of their own. They act in accordance with the orders of a Core.
Zygarde 10% Forme
When an emergency occurs, this form can take action separately from Zygarde 50% Forme, which comprises its main body. It has just a single Core performing the functions of its brain, so it can only maintain this form for a short period of time.
During battle, it overwhelms foes with its sharp fangs. When running all out, its speed exceeds 60 mph.
Thousand Arrows is a move that only Zygarde can learn. It's a Ground-type move, but it can do damage even to Flying types and Pokémon with the Levitate Ability. After being hit by this move, Flying types and Pokémon with the Levitate Ability will also continue to take damage from other Ground-type moves used in subsequent turns.
Thousand Waves is also a move that only Zygarde can learn. This move makes it impossible for an opponent to flee or be swapped out of battle.
Zygarde 50% Forme
Zygarde monitors the Pokémon ecosystem to ensure that it's not disrupted. Zygarde believes it has a duty to protect the ecosystem. While the power it possesses is overwhelming, this Forme contains only 50% of Zygarde's cells. Out in the world, an equal amount of power waits to be brought together.
A Zygarde 10% or Zygarde 50% with the Power Construct Ability will be able to change forms into its Complete Forme during battle if its HP drops below half.
Zygarde Complete Forme
Zygarde's completed form is specialized for battle, enabling Zygarde to fight with its full power and fulfill its duty of protecting the Pokémon ecosystem.
Core Enforcer is a move that only Zygarde can learn, and it can erase the Abilities of any opponents that have already used a move on the same turn that it's used.
Its wings and tail each have their own Core. Each Core serves as a brain and can make decisions and act independently.

The 2D art does these Pokemon more justice, as is usual.
As most, I don't like the fish all that much, we have too many fish Pokes as is, but hey, the game is taking place on islands, so this generation gets an excuse. Maybe it will have a cooler looking evolution...
So Zygarde gets love? Awesome stuff on it too. And the early game Bug seems to be taking notes from Venipede in that it evolves into a beast. And early Bug/Electric? Count me in!
There is a typo. The bug pokemon is actually called "Charjabus" and its typing is TRANSPORT. But really.. not one of those better designs.
Vikavolt is a railgun with wings. How can I not love it?
Final image is incorrect, should be showing Zygarde Perfect Form, the large robot-looking one
Wow, the Complete Form looks just like the 50% Form. lol
They also have new pages for Rockruff and Komala which you should add.
Digging Tapu Koko, electric/fairy huh? sure it would be a stalemate vs Zygarde, whom I hope gets some plot relevance.
Um...pretty sure that's not Zygarde's complete form.
I'm digging the Tapu Koko concept art.
Some of these designs are just terrible... really charjabug and the dragqeen fish.
Please change them before the release!!!
People are just making fun of the bad designs
I actually think a lot of these new pokemon are pretty cool looking! Tau Koko in particular is interesting, and I love the bus-bug!
You know what would be a nice battle element? If you had a double battle with vikabolt and charjabug and Vikabolt picked up Charjabug during battle to get a boost. It would be a nice quirk to the pokemon just like how seviper hordes will attack zangoose that end up with them.
Let the hate begin.
(I personally loved all of them)
@Seacliff It's supposed to be based on a jumper cable, actually.
I love Charjabug! Vikavolt better be good, we need more viable bugs!
Dude...can we talk about Drampa? A pun on GRAMPA?? I think I may buy this game after all.
Yay, more names to try and remember! ^_^ I'm only kidding, these designs are looking to give the Alola region such a unique feel. I especially like Drampa, honestly it wouldn't look out of place in Wind Waker (Valoo, anyone?) which I absolutely adore.
@nyarth Looks to me like a wise, old dragon. :3 Clever name, hadn't thought about that.
Eh, I still don't like most of their designs. Charjabug just looks godawful to me.
On the second look I found all more tolerable, that said the fish and the dragon are unacceptably bad.
I swear I'm getting a Nausicaa vibe off of charjabug. With Zygarde, liking the artwork, and five cores eh? I know there's a voltron reference there somewhere.
@Frank90 I agree, the moment I saw Drampa on the video, I couldn't help but chuckle.
I like most of the designs, the only one i do not like at all is Bruxish. It is probably among the worse pokemon designs i've ever seen...
I certainly hope they do some animated trailer like with Black 2 and White 2

Sounds like Vikavolt should have Unburden has a secondary or hidden ability.
"When Vikavolt is engaged in a fierce aerial fight, it releases Charjabug to make itself lighter and increase its mobility."
A useful gallery as usual. Thanks for putting this all in one place!
@Bolt_Strike I can still dream.
I really really REALLY dont like Bruxish and Drampa. I mean even the worse of previous gen are not as bad as these ones. Especially Bruxish. I mean, was it really Ken Sugimori who designed these because i can hardly believe that. I like the others though, not the best designs but it still holds the concept of what pokemon should look like(atleast from gen 3 which kinda started the more "fancy" designs). Also love the traditional electric mouse. A lot of people are dissing Charjabug but i expect him to be used a lot by players( and be honest the more u look at him the more u start to like him) because of his evo Vikavolt who also looks kinda cool. Besides Drampa and the abomenation that is Bruxish, its just a matter of getting used to.
Sounds like we are going to have a fetch quest to get 100% Zygrade.
So we get ANOTHER electric mouse Pokemon? And what's with the stoner dragon Pokemon? Not loving the new designs, but Cutiefly is fantastic.
Is Tapu Koko the first Pokémon with a two part name? Most of them look pretty cool so far.
I think Drampa would be my favourite out of the ones here. It looks so cool and dopey.
Komala's ability is Comatose. that's so hilarious. Gotta love Pokemon lol I like some of the designs but I still don't really like the fish. Drampa is really cool though. Can't wait to play this game. Only 4 more months.
@Frank90 really? I got the oppisite when I saw Drampa. Not everyone gonna like it tho. As in every pokemon game. Lol
@Sanangelo89 Bruxish i can see used for Fake out users and Talflame competiors. So i can see it used a lot despite the design. Drampa looks like a chinese dragon. Lol
@happylittlepigs No, it's an electric hedgehog Pokémon. Every region except Johto (unless you count Pichu) gets their own cute electric rodent with cheek pouches, so deal with it. (We can also now count on a girl in the main cast of the animé to get one.) I personally like them all except Plusle and Minun.
Ah, I see. In the animé, it will take the combined powers of Z1 (AKA Squishy) and Z2 to access their Complete Forme and wreck Team Flare.
Strange how Pokémon didn't localize Togedemaru.
@Apple-sensei Could be for marketing purposes, they may have specified for it to have the same name worldwide.
@Dr_Lugae True, kind of like Pikachu.
Can't say I'm convinced by these designs. They seem to lack the personality and character of past, more memorable Pokemon.
Why do they keep shoving Zyguarde in there? Yes, I get that a gen 6 pokemon has new forms thank you!
So, does Zygarde belongs to both 6th and 7th gen or what?
5ft long bugs... I'm really glad I don't live in the Pokemon universe.
vikavolt really needs to be the recipient of a 2nd dual type attack:
an electric/steel attack(electric as base type, but including steel in damage calculation) based on a railgun.
charjabug looks as if someone squeezed wormmon from digimon in a box that was a bit too small.
Love them all. I have a feeling this may be one of the best generations yet.
Seems like Drampa is a love-it-or-hate-it type of pokemon. Personally I hate it.
I love Vikavolt though! I don't usually go for bug types but it's a freaking railgun. I NEED it in my party.
Where can I buy a railgun bug? I want one so bad!
