@LazyDaisy I don't think this is about cross saves at all. The game is optimized terribly in its current state. I doubt they're even close to having a competent Switch 2 version to sell.
@AlanaHagues I think y'all might've listed the wrong price. It says 80$ in the article, but on Steam it's 70 and the Switch 2 version is listed as 70 on Amazon.
I wonder how much the success of the Demon Slayer game is tied to the success of the new Demon Slayer movie that released recently in Japan. The movie is already in the top 10 highest grossing movies ever in Japan even though it just came out.
@somnambulance 2023 was absurdly stacked yeah. I do agree that I would love updates on stuff coming out, but I guess I'm not one to stress over it I guess. Also I probably only play somewhere around 8-12 new releases a year normally, so that might be part of it too. But yeah the 2023 point makes sense. It was an insane year of quality and quantity that may not be matched for a long time, so I think that "jet lagged" feeling as you put it makes sense.
@DonnieTACO My understanding is those early milestone numbers are units shipped, not sold. Could be wrong about that though. But I don't even know what point we're discussing at this point tbh. My previous comments explain that they've clearly sold WAY over 200k units in the time frame (probably around the 2 million mark). I feel we've lost the plot a little lol. As far as why Nintendo reports what they do, as stated I really don't know. They always hold a financial report early August and they always only have numbers through June 30th. This is what they've done for years. That's all I've got.
@DonnieTACO I don't know man, I don't work there. The August financial report always only has concrete numbers through June 30th. It's probably cause retailer data is what they're waiting on, but I couldn't say for certain.
@somnambulance I can see where you're coming from. I just am shocked you say you don't have stuff coming out you're interested in. Personally I've struggled to keep up with all the stuff coming out the last few years and still have so many I want to go back and play. Though I do overall agree that Nintendo's last year (2024) wasn't very good though.
@rjejr Yeah but I redid the math and it's definitely way over a million since then. Considering since June 30th they've sold 480k in Japan, and Japan makes up less than a quarter of their console sales, they probably sold at around 2 million total worldwide in that untracked time frame. At least that's what makes sense to me, but I would love to here your perspective if it differs.
@DonnieTACO firstly, I edited my last comment to prove what I'm saying in case you wanted to see that. Their cap at 6 million is because they don't have solid numbers past June 30th. This is pretty consistent for their investor meetings in early August, as those numbers always are as of June 30th. But they can confidently say they've passed six million since, even without solid numbers outside of Japan. Hope that makes some sence. Sales numbers tend to lag behind a bit, so their date is old as it always is.
@DonnieTACO 3rd paragraph. Also @rjejr is misunderstanding the numbers. They only have solid numbers through June 30th. The over 6 million number is just them estimating that they've sold at least 200k units in the past 3 weeks which they obviously have. Pretending the new console has only sold 200k in the last 3 weeks is a little silly and clearly not understanding what it's saying.
Edit: As of July 24th, it had sold 1.75 million units in Japan alone, 480k above where it stood at June 30th. So realistically worldwide it's probably at least a million above where it was on June 30th.
@somnambulance Tbf, this first party announcement strategy isn't that unusual. They usually don't reveal much until it's actually close to coming out. We've gone into most years for like the past five saying "where are the games?" And they always show up. I wouldn't worry about it personally.

Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.3.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
That lap course frequency update better actually help this time. Though it would actually be really funny if it doesn't

Just pretend I said some clever insult about Ubisoft here. I don't have the mental energy to come up with anything right now.
Re: '007 First Light' Deep Dive Gameplay Is Coming Later This Week
Really excited for the game, but why does James Bond look so much like a younger Tom Cruise? Surely I can't be the only one seeing this right?
Re: Metroid Prime 4 Rating Spotted On Nintendo's Website
Just a heads up, I'm pretty sure that ESRB description is just a placeholder. It's just saying that it CAN include that content, not that it does.
Re: Video: Uh Oh, Elden Ring On Switch 2 Has Issues In Handheld Mode
@Zuljaras It is absolutely insane to me that people would prefer a Physical release over a decent framerate, but more power to you I guess.
Re: Video: Uh Oh, Elden Ring On Switch 2 Has Issues In Handheld Mode
That's unfortunate, but it wouldn't be surprising. Elden Ring is not really the best optimized game out there.

Re: Random: Oh Jeez, Now Palworld Has Its Own Rip-Off On The Switch eShop
@Nintendumb Wait hold up you're cooking. But also for clarity I have no beef with Palworld I'm just enjoying the comedy that is this situation.
Edit: Why did you feel the need to bash on people playing Splatoon though? That was just uncalled for.
Re: Random: Oh Jeez, Now Palworld Has Its Own Rip-Off On The Switch eShop
Well now we need someone to rip this one off. The cycle must continue!

@Willo567 Yeah, there's a real villain to blame here and it's not Nintendo.

@DonnieTACO These numbers are as of June 30th, so one month in, not two months.

Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Switch 2 And Switch Games Launching In August 2025
I'll definitely buy Madden in like 6 months when it's like 20 bucks lol. Although as a huge football fan, Madden on a handheld is very compelling.

Re: Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.2.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
Wait, did they fix the thing? I'll have to test it out I guess. Cool if they did, but I'll probably still stick to discord rooms.
