I really hope it's real. No dumb gimmicks, no bs, just a solid new console. The main thing hoping is that those leaked specs are real, cause we'll be in good shape if that's the case. Cause after playing on my PC and getting used to 60-120 fps, it's really hard to go back to a choppy 30 on the switch.
@CupidStunt Fair enough. While I didn't find it to be repetitive, it's 100 percent an opinion based issue. If you like the idea of sandbox puzzles but don't like when they're repetitive, I would highly recommend the hitman series. Worth trying out if you r never played before.
@CupidStunt Except they weren't though? Idk. I'm not really convinced to change my opinions based on "It's bad cuz I say it's bad". I think we'll just have to agree to disagree on this.
@CupidStunt Calling the puzzles insultingly easy is just wrong. There are plenty of legit tricky shrines. Plus, the fire temple and water temple had some legit tricky puzzles. I also strongly disagree with the sense of discovery being worse. Granted, this is a very opinion-based topic, but I found discovering the caves and islands to be even more fun than exploration in BOTW. And honestly, I find older Zelda games to be kinda boring. I love traditional puzzle games, but the puzzles in the older 3d entries I find to be braindead easy. Not saying.you are wrong to enjoy them, but I personally don't.
@CupidStunt Better on what scale though? I played skyward sword, which had its clever moments, but even its best puzzles didn't compare to the fun I had solving shrines in totk.
Well that was certainly a twist. The distinction of patent lawsuit is particularly interesting. I would have to guess Nintendo has info that we don't, cause they wouldn't have gone for this unless they could win. It the alternative is this is a bully lawsuit. The reason for waiting may have been they wanted to strike while their opponents were down, as it seems Palworld hasn't been doing great lately. Regardless, I am fascinated to see how this plays out
@Clammy That's fair, but I have a feeling that's not what most people do. Granted, if you do it, good on ya for saving the dough, but most people who care enough to write online about their love for physical games would probably never even consider selling them.
@Arawn93 You're right, he is missing the point. The point of buying physical is obviously so you can have a sense of false superiority over those who buy digitally.
@Snatcher I really don't know if he apologized, but I also just don't think there was anything to apologize for. This game was huge and I never heard of any of this before. Seems like Twitter being Twitter.
@Dr_Corndog You make some fair points, but to be honest i.am not fit to argue against most (I haven't actually played Sticker Star.) I do think what you said about linearity is interesting. While I agree linearity isn't inherently bad, (Anyone who thinks that would honestly be kind of silly) I do think a game being too linear can be an issue. But that's just my take, and the best thing about gaming is people can have different opinions on those sorts of things. I also would argue the metacritic score doesn't mean much. Mario games are basically incapable of being scored badly, even a game as poor as Strikers: Battle League still scored decently. Regardless, I still think it's cool that you have an unpopular opinion. Out of curiosity, have you played TTYD? And if so, thoughts?
@Dr_Corndog I think it's really cool that you like sticker star (always nice to see unique opinions), but people do have issues unrelated to TTYD. Less unique characters, unbalanced combat system, overly linear etc. It likely still would have been received poorly if it was the only Paper Mario game. (But still cool that you like it!)
This news is so good it feels like a dream. If anyone here has not played Hifi Rush and has a way to play it, I genuinely can't recommend the game enough.
@Princess_Lilly Sure would be. But, it's one of those things where I can acknowledge it would be awesome for me, but a terrible business decision for Nintendo.
@SpaceboyScreams very fair, but I think the dlc thing had little to do with it. It was a vocal (and rather silly) minority making noise about that. I think the reason the dropoff was so large is that BOTW reached a lot of people that hadn't played Zelda before. Pokemon fans are used to buying a new entry every few years. They've been doing that for a while. But these new Zelda fans aren't used to buying new entries. But I admit, I could be way off. I know that. I think this will continue to be an interesting topic moving forward. I also believe that if they end up doing a totk deluxe edition for switch 2, that it could very easily catch botw in sales. Cause it really hasn't had much marketing post launch window.
I'm not surprised by this honestly. When I went to my local Walmart, they had BOTW in a more prominent spot than TOTK. I also don't think that 70$ price tag is doing it any favors. Shame though, I like tears much more. It really is glorious.
That third party game is certainly interesting. I feel like Hogwarts honestly passed 1 million earlier than this. So yeah, maybe FC 24??? I don't know, just throwing stuff at the wall here.
Man it's impossible to pick a game I'm most excited for. Zelda, Mario and Luigi, Mario party, DONKEY KONG COUNTRY!!! And Metroid prime 4??? What an insane lineup.
@SpaceboyScreams I feel like that take is jumping to conclusions a bit. That being said, I think you're close to the truth. I think what is far more likely is that BOTW reached a lot of casual players. Then, when TOTK came out, most of those casual players didn't purchase because they didn't see the point. Basically "I already have Zelda, why do I need another Zelda?" Is the tgouggt process I would think many casual players have.
@sanderev But see, there's a problem. It's not a problem if I want it but don't want to pay. I would be glad to pay. But they won't sell them to me. If the new Emio game has an OST I really like for example, it's probably not going to get any sort of official release. Not to mention that the accessibility of these options is absurdly dumb. If I want to listen to the sonic frontiers OST, you know what I do? I search it up on Spotify, and hit play. If I want to legally listen to the totk OST, I first have to import this for a ridiculous price, then I have to burn it into a digital copy, then I need to download a media played app to actually play it. Then I can hit play. Meanwhile, pirating the music is as easy as a Google search. I would rather pay, but they refuse to let me pay for a digital copy. This is one area where Nintendo has failed, and I genuinely cannot fathom why they haven't put their music on Spotify or any other platform.
Gee, it's almost like a reviewer is allowed to have opinions that are different than yours. What a novel idea. Look, I used to hate on reviewers the same way. But what anyone complaining has to realize is ultimately, a review is just one person's opinion on a game. And they are entitled to that opinion, and it doesn't have to agree with yours.
@Sonicka Yes, but the switch version is much worse. That said, I hope you're right on it being an outlier. Despite sonic Forces being sonic forces, it still runs well on switch, so there's hope Still definitely gonna wait and see though. Digital foundry is very clutch for these situations thankfully!
People keep saying the generations switch version will run well cause it's a 360/PS3 era game. But like, sonic colors was on the Wii, and the switch version is dreadful, so I'm not keeping my hopes up.
This is a funny question. Because a few months ago I would've said yes. But if the games keep coming, than I have no problem waiting longer for a successor honestly.
@WhiteUmbrella Wait, it's a handheld only? I didn't know that. I was having good fun playing yesterday on my TV with my pro controller too. Oh well, guess I can't do that anymore since it's just a handheld.
Obviously I know which idol my allegiance lies with. But I also find it hilarious how much everyone hates Frye. 3 percent is very sad. I really look forward to listening to the inevitable collab song between the 3 groups. Though that also sounds potentially very chaotic.
@-wc- I am honestly shocked mk8 ran on the Wii u at all. That little thing was more powerful than one might expect. Can't wait to see what they can pull of graphically for Mario kart on the next system! Also, very accurate on the last point.😂
@-wc- Yeah, that's definitely understandable. The single slot added a lot of strategy, which was really cool. Me personally, I prefer the more chaotic side of Mario kart, which is why I prefer the double slot to the single one. As for the feel, there's no technical reason I know of, but I think it's just due to context. For when it released, it was honestly really impressive. But now, with next-gen consoles to compare to, it doesn't have the same effect. At least that's my theory. I felt the same way for years and struggled to figure it out.
@PersianZSR It's such a bummer too. I think f zero 99 is such a blast. The series is a blast in general. F zero x is sublime. I just wish it could become popular. It seems to sadly have the same problem as Metroid. Great games, but a very small audience.
If I had a nickel for every time a paper mario game on switch had to have a game breaking bug preventing progress get patched, I'd have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, you know?
It's cool that Mario RPGs seem to be back in full force. Super Mario RPG remake sold super well, and now TTYD is off to a strong start. And now Mario and Luigi is coming too. Definitely an intininal move on Nintendo's part to release all these revivals shortly after the Mario Movie. And personally, I'm very glad to see it!

Re: ICYMI: Yes, Dungeons Return In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
@tblalande That elden ring take is absolutely ridiculous. That being said, the one thing I dislike about totk is the story, so I agree with you there.
Re: ICYMI: Yes, Dungeons Return In The Legend Of Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
It's a really sad state how toxic the Zelda fan ase has become.
