That is a good week for sales
Great numbers for Link's Awakening. Breath of the Wild had about 180,000 sold in Japan the first week.
Those are big numbers (relatively speaking, of course) for Xbox. I wonder what gives?
XBox One X outselling the 3DS. Never thought that would happen!
@mattesdude Monster Hunter?
I thought link would do better. But still good. LITE almost 3X what the old Switch was averaging (on a "good" week). Nice!.
I am now a bit concerned for Dragon Quest, I kept seeing Link topping it on Amazon JP. No way it can launch in the low 100s
NinoKuni as much of a disappointment in Japan as in the UK. Really should get more love in general. Good RPG.
@Geobros well there was also only 320,000 people with a Switch who could buy and play it. Not sure that would be the case if ZBOTW was launched into a 9 million install base now.
@sanderev Idk, it didn’t have nearly as much effect 2 weeks ago or last week when MH was released
Zelda numbers are pretty good, but not as good as monster hunter release, but it is understandable+ it is without considering the digital number, should be a couple of millions copies world wide by now
@mattesdude banjo Kazooie
Once the Lite launch dust settles, it will be fascinating to see which sells better on a normal weekly basis... the Lite, or the original.
@mattesdude Call it the Sakurai Bump.
@mattesdude The week being tracked is the same week Sakurai recommended playing B-K on Xbox so... I'd go with that.
Not bad. The game is great but I hate how choppy it is at times. They hould have dropped some details to run it better.
@Agramonte I would expect low sales for dragon quest as 11 has been out for a whole year on other formats.
Very solid numbers from Nintendo's insane release schedule last week. I approve. I'm curious to see how DQ XI affects numbers next week.
@Lord It will be interesting to see how it DQ 11 does, not just in Japan but worldwide. Are people going to double dip or is it possible that the Switch version becomes the best selling one on consoles based mostly on those who haven’t played it?
I wonder if the game will get an update, any journalist from this site ask Nintendo about it yet? Seems like its something worth investigating. Some people have it really bad while others don't seem to notice it. It will be a while before I start playing LA's on switch, but I'd love for them to patch it out if they can.
@Lord Yeah, you have PS4&3DS owners in the Switch install. I am just hopping for a bit on the top side.
@DockEllisD
"It's been either number 1 or 2 on the Famitsu most wanted list for the last half a year at least"
yep, 👍
I wouldn't say they were amazing numbers for a new Zelda, perhaps being a straight up remake is hurting its sales performance a little. It's still doing very well but surely a new entry or at least one that has plenty of new elements would have performed even better
@BarefootBowser yeah for me it's a huge missed opportunity to build upon the original game and give us something truly special, perhaps similar to A Link Between Worlds did but keeping the same story beats and characters. This could have given us something both very familiar but fresh and new at the same time. I enjoyed it, I just feel it could have been so much more now that it was free of the Gameboys hardware limitations, similar to how Resi 2 did earlier this year
Zelda could use an update to fix the framerate, add shadow link to the dungeons in hero mode (no reason he should only exist within the amiibo) and they should add a better reward for finishing dampes dungeons (maybe they can let you choose the other tunic from the color dungeon or getting your own chain chomp that you can summon whenever)
That fact that apparently 28 people bought a Vita makes me chuckle for some reason.
Good stuff overall. LA did really good,as did Switch hardware. Also cool to see Ni no Kuni chart on Switch. Portability ftw. 😎
Nearly 240,000 units sold certainly is an impressive number.
Fantastic news for Nintendo! This makes my day.
Astral chain........?
