Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer JoyMasher have today announced that Blazing Chrome will be blasting its way onto Nintendo Switch and other platforms on 11th July.

The game is a run-and-gun platformer heavily inspired by - and acting as an homage to - retro classics Contra and Metal Slug. Its enemy-infested action is said to "harken back to the golden days of side-scrolling shooters with modern touches ensuring its gameplay feels as precise as it does authentic".

Releasing alongside the launch date announcement is a brand new trailer, which you can check out for yourself above. It showcases hidden characters within the game including ‘Suhaila,’ a razor girl with a robotic arm, and the skilled and deadly ninja ‘Raijin’. These new characters are armed with entirely new ninja-based weaponry and skills - expect to find a deadly katana, higher jumping possibilities and a feisty dash move.
