My headcanon is that the eyes on the Terastal crown mean they are a mutation of the Pokérus. And that’s where Tera types come from.

Tried playing a modern version of Oregon Trail and the updated UI and graphics resulted in the game losing a lot of its charm. Arguably most remakes are able to maintain some of the feel of the original but didn’t get that here.

Guess I’ll just have to dust off the old Macintosh.

Is there a side quest where you walk through an AU of your town where you were never born?

Purchased the expansion pass recently after hearing about the Mario Parties and Pokémon Stadiums coming to the service. Just one problem…you can’t use GameCube controllers.

The Z button is mapped to the one button pro controllers have but GameCube controllers do not - ZL. And since you can’t change the button mapping in game you’re pretty much sunk (still not sure how to do it systemwide but apparently even then the remap can be ignored by software).

One quick thing; trying to avoid leaks so having the contents of one mentioned without warning is a little disheartening.

That being said, I’d totally be down for Boo Lake making the cut in the booster pass

I have a feeling that Ed Sheeran Pokémon song wasn’t specifically made for the games, he just happened to have it lying around and TPCi jumped on it.

So I can accept that this is a fantasy game and all, but they do know Toph is blind, right?

Couldn’t get into it at first since all I was seeing were Kaizo and Autoscroll but fleshed out stuff like this is what I was looking forward to.

Looks cute and saw some gameplay on YouTube. The only thing giving me pause is whether or not I would actually put in the time on it or just go back to tried and true games, leaving this one to gather digital dust like the other indie games I’ve picked up.

The Jeopardy game came out of nowhere but looks intriguing. Been watching the 24/7 Jeopardy channel on Pluto tv recently too.

EDIT: It seems like a lot of content (additional episodes to play on) is locked behind DLC, which may make this more than I’d like to spend for a game like this…

Even if they can’t play the main characters anymore, it’d be cool to give these people other characters to voice in the official games as a cameo/homage.

@Silly_G Clefairy’s hidden ability is Friend Guard which boosts both it and its doubles partner’s defensive stats. Along with the defense boost from Eviolite, it may be more popular than Clefable in competitive. I’ve seen it on quite a few sample teams.

As others have said, it’s a free shiny and Clefairy’s one of my faves ever since Gen 1 so I’m pretty happy

Went with US/Europe. The action does a better job at selling it in my opinion. That’s not to say though that the Japanese version is bad.

There’s a piece of artwork that I will always remember where the entire cast of Melee are all facing the left and look like they’re staring into the distance together. It was such a cool piece and the Japanese box art reminds me of that.

@smithyo I get the frustration, but I wouldn’t say in this case that subjectivity eliminates all meaning. As lame as the “I know it when I see it” argument can be sometimes, these guys seem to be providing a solid set of recommendations while seeking to avoid a condescending tone that can come off sometimes with things like this.

For JP and PAL, not sure how I feel about the random Goomba right in the center. But love Count Bleck popping out of the corner folding the paper up - really sells the aesthetic.

Haven’t purchased Superstars yet because I’m not sure if there’s a way to turn off certain mini games (Tug of War). Was curious if this update addressed stuff like that.

It’s less the eyes for me and more the flushed cheeks/red nose that definitely give off the porcelain doll vibe.

I’m not expecting anything for 3DS, much less Wii U, but with Switch at least I have to ask why Nintendo doesn’t try to make its digital purchases from their eShops available to play on future systems. From what I’ve read it sounds like Sony and Microsoft are providing this with their platforms.

So from what I could gather, we’ll be getting controllers with food company logos on them?

The addition of multiplayer puts this game back on the radar for me

All I want is a way to organize the characters by series on the fighter select screen. Kind of like how they do on the website and not a major thing to add like another Fighter’s Pass. Is this ever gonna happen?

Hot take: they can still call it Mario Kart even if they expand it to all of their IPs. It’s an established name and just rolls off the tongue so well.

I like that the Pikachu doesn’t have “American Kirby Box Art” eyes. That’s the kind of macho aesthetic described here and what I was expecting.

This is such a cool idea that I’d love to see make it into an official Pokémon game. It would make your team that much more personal for sure.

The closest thing I can think of is in the Stadium games where the model’s color changed depending on the Pokémon’s nickname.

@Xeno_Aura No confirmed mini games from 8 yet (not surprising since most are motion based), but we’ve gotten a couple from 9 & 10.

So not familiar with the Metroid games personally, but seeing Samus run from that thing…I can definitely see its Alien roots showing. Pretty cool

Isn’t the GameCube adapter only for Smash Bros on Wii U (unlike Switch which registers them as controllers for all games)? I assume they’ve modded the software as well.

@nessisonett Curious as to what you mean by “haunts me” lol. I had the N64 version and it was okay in my eyes but nothing special.

Actually building your own car does seem like a next logical step after antigravity, so this actually seems like a plausible crossover.
