....I stopped caring at this point.
Easy answer, no. The entire idea behind this really let me down. I used to hunt for new copies of games just for the club nintendo codes, and now I just don't care anymore. I no longer buy games I wouldn't think of buying if it wasn't for a bonus nintendo code, and I seldom bother checking the eshop anymore as too many games are, to me, premium priced, especially Nintendo products, so discounts in the range offered above offer no lure to get me in there.
Waste of time.......
Disappointing indeed! These digital offers need to at least give us 40 to 60% discounts to really be tempting. I miss Club Nintendo...
Despite the fact most rewards are bad, and not at all tailored to individuals, the scheme itself makes no sense. Nintendo seem to have no idea how to value coins. For example: The Gold Point reduction structure makes no sense:
50% off = 80 (Gold Coins)
30% off = 20, 40, 50 or 70
25% off = 30
20% off = 10
10% off = 50
This is just a snapshot of one particular week in the EU. It makes no sense.
At this point, they need to really reduce the Wii U download prices so owners can maximise their enjoyment of the console without having to break the bank. Would make sense NOT to try and grab every penny it can from existing fans a few months ahead of a hardware launch.
My Nintendo is the worst.
@DanteSolablood Well said, that's how I feel too.I understand Nintendo don't want to reduce the value of their games too much but to earn the rewards we still need to spend money any way. It just feels like greed at this stage.
Wow. Even for My Nintendo this is shocking.
30% Discount on NES Open Tournament Golf for only 20 gold points.
Possibly the most laughable discount yet. Would it have hurt them to make this one free for say 40 gold points?
Maybe Mario & Luigi. Played it on the GBA but never finished it.
I actually bought games to gain points for club Nintendo, the biggest diss is the expiration on points. You know some people don't have time to play as often as others....
@alasdair91 You might want to try factoring in the price of the game that each discount applies to... looks to me like 10 gold coins are worth around £1.25 on average.
@Joeynator3000
Your only stopping caring now?
Not tempted at all. The only rewards I have used have been a few free GBA codes at the beginning and a discount on Skyward Sword (which I am glad I didn't pay full price for). Everything else I wasted on Miitomo junk I didn't care about just to keep the points from expiring, but even then it is a stretch to find something worth the effort.
nothing for me. the whole program is a joke. Club Nintendo was so much better
EEEEWWWWWW
Oh Nintendo. Please breathe some life into this poor excuse for a rewards program. And soon
Which is worse
1) My Nintendo Rewards
2) Cleveland Browns
3) The Transformers movies
4) Your most hated school teacher moving in with you
The answer is A, and it's by a lot.
@XCWarrior No way. The Browns are winless. At least you can get something with this excuse of a program
I think the only discount I ever took advantage of was Majora's Mask 3D when it was about $20 US dollars.
I miss getting free games from Club Nintendo...
They need to start adding "Rewards." We need the physical objects and full game downloads rather than discounts. It's not a rewards program, it's a semi rewards program. Come on Nintendo, give us those cool physical rewards!
Come on already. If we are going to give discounts on okder games like this, at least do 40 percent or so. I mean Wrecking Crew is only 5 bucks anywa, so 20 percent off is hardly worth booting the eshop for.
oh wow, 20% off Wrecking Crew?!
dayum, call me impressed' i mean, more discount as rewards, this is AMA...zingly awful!! -_-
@liljmoore The Browns are horrible, and won't win a game this year, BUT.... if you've been a Cleveland Browns fan for years, you knew this level of play was coming.
With Nintendo, years ago we had high expectations of the company. We aren't used to this new era of aiming low and falling even lower.
Lol MyNintendo <<< the Browns lol
@Shard1 I still hate you get nothing for buying physical copies. The last 4 games I bought for 3ds were physical.
@bezerker99 haha, that analogy is so apt. Lol
@liljmoore
Don't go h8ting on my brownies!! They may be winless, but they could easily be 3-10, there were games we should've won and some more close ones! And next season we're gonna be amazing! While next season for MyNintendo probably still gonna suck!
I keep checking these articles to see if My Nintendo redeems itself and provides something of value, just to be disappointed again. I hope Nintendo plans to use this as an actual benefit to customers in the future, because right now it's junk.
My points expire before I find anything that interests me, so I don't worry about collecting them or checking the deals normally. I miss club Nintendo.
@mjharper
I know, so much hope only to be dashed quite expertly!
Well, as a miitomo fan, at least I can use the plat points to get 15 tickets every month through myNintendo.
That, zelda picross and warioware touched have really made myNintendo better than nothing!
It's amazing to me that Nintendo replaced CN with something orders of magnitude worse. It's like, who thought this would be a good idea?!
Where are EU's Zelda rewards? >=(
Actually gonna pick up the NES games, as well as Mario Tennis. At this point, I might as well.
Yet again we all ask ourselves:
Why do we even bother?
Lame, lame, lame, lame, and lame. Goodbye points.......I have a ton and they will expire soon.
@Mr_Zurkon
That's actually probably the worst considering that Club Nintendo did points for digital and physical copies.
So disappointing.
Buying discounts so you can buy more games to buy more and more discounts.
MyNintendo sure is a nice "rewards" program.
@khaosklub The sad thing is, you know My Nintendo is going to tie into Super Mario Run, and they couldn't think of anything better to offer Mario fans who use the service and earn points playing the game than...crappy discounts on Mario games. Not even Super Mario Bros. games at that.
@SMEXIZELDAMAN I honestly feel bad for your Browns, bro. Not even with RG3 could they win last Sunday. Shouldn't they get the #1 draft pick next year?
@bezerker99 Oh Yeah we're gonna get top pick for sure! Hopefully we use our top picks to shore up our defense and offensive line. Then I think we'd be in good shape
Tempted to cross my fingers that at least Europe will get some... one full download as a reward... but I'm really losing any hope that we can get a single decent reward at this point...
Well if there is anyone thinking about Mario Tennis, the GBC one is the best Mario Tennis by far in my opinion (it's made by Camelot if I remember correctly)
Is this the "work" of DeNA?
Wow..... that was a mistake!!
"you're fired"
Wrecking Crew???? Come on Nintendo!! Stop holding back!!!
Throw us some shades of Club Nintendo and GIVE US URBAN CHAMPION!!!!
@Tiredman why don't you buy games anymore?
This new Nintendo rewards program blows. And I'm not even saying that as a disgruntled fan.
Maybe Superstar Saga. I only played Partners in Time and loved it, hoping this is just as good.
Nothing interesting like usual, would be nice if they put Bayonetta 1 at a discount later in the year since there isn't any other games I can think of that would benefit from these small discounts. Aside from maybe Fatal Frame, but I doubt it will get one.
Complete garbage. Again.
Bogus rewards system. Pathetic; I don't want to complain and be rude but this is honestly worthless. There is no value here.
Needless to say My Nintendo needs some more improvements.
Scratch that, it needs to be gutted and completely redone.
Why a Discount? they should giveaway NES Open Tournament Golf for 30-50 Goldcoins.
I still can't understand why they didn't just drop 4 Swords Dsiware onto My Nintendo with all that other Zelda stuff; it's not like they're selling it. If they added software like that, these pathetic "discounts" would seem fine. When they're the entirety of the program, not so much.
Awful.
I'm still holding out hope that the program improves greatly when the Switch launches. They already included paper codes inside the box for the NES Classic Edition to enter on the site for points like the old Club Nintendo did so that gives me hope that boxed retail games will include these in the future as well.
I'm hoping the program gets a reboot with the Switch and we get some rewards actually worth caring about.
Even if I didn't have all these already, they are crap rewards. Where are the free Gameboy games and stuff? I have over 400 gold coins wasting away.
I already have Mario Golf and I don't have a Wii U, so nope. I did get all the Miitimo stuff though.
I somehow have 170 gold points. I fear more each day that they will never be spent.
Skimmed through 67 comments. All I saw were complaints I completely agree with. Wake up Nintendo! My Nintendo is awful. You need to have something everyone loves. This is a missed opportunity in the same old fashion from the same old company. It's really a shame.
@liljmoore
Well the Browns will get rewarded with the 1st overall pick for their suckitude this year. Not sure anyone has been rewarded by myNintendo.
@XCWarrior The last option would make an amazing sitcom if done right!
@alasdair91 at least you guys see 50% off offers--NA has never seen discounts that deep.
@MarioPhD I have 810
I wouldn't mind paying 5 times the points for the full game if the option was available. 20% is just to little for me to care.
Collecting the points is its own reward. I say keep the points. If you trade them in all you get is some small discount on some overpriced digital game you didnt want. The points are every bit as good as the discount so just keep em.
@roy130390 The last thing we need are more reality TV shows. Maybe as an actual sitcom with real actors...
I just in general hate how Nintendo lies constantly, "We are listening to our fans." Yeah, well fans have said MyNintendo Rewards sucks since the day it was revealed. Nothing has been fixed about it. You aren't listening. Stop lying.
@Priceless_Spork You do know the points expire after like 3-4 months... right?
Discounts on games I already own + the fact that coins expire.... Not too happy with anything My Nintendo, so far.
Can't get any worse can it? You'd think they'd at least try considering it's the holiday season.
@XCWarrior Yeah I agree with you about My Nintendo. I have 65 gold coins that I won't use in the ridiculous discounts that they offer as "rewards".
As far as I know reality shows and sitcoms are different things. I was referring to the classic concept of a sitcom, with real actors indeed.
@XCWarrior The gold points don't expire for 1 year.Platinum points are 6 months. Doesn't really matter either way though,if there;s nothing to spend them on.
Nintendo has been on a mission to frustrate all of their loyal fans this year, obviously. Many of us are getting really tired of it and looking elsewhere for gaming fixes.
@OorWullie Thanks for the clarification. And yes, I've already had some of the platinum ones expire. I got one 3DS theme just because, well, the coins were obtained through Miiverse posts.
I really hope in 2017 Nintendo cares again.
@XCWarrior It started out with some promise. I managed to get Metroid Fusion for free fairly quick and there was Mario 64 and Pilot wings to save for. But it went rapidly down hill from there. One thing that's always irked me is they never gave Wii U owners a Platinum point gift. 3DS owners at least had Picross and Warioware.It's not much but it's something.
Are you guys under contract to write these up?
@rushiosan
Oh, geez, when you put it like that, My Nintendo sounds like the Sticker Star of rewards programs.
Nintendo has abandoned its fans who purchased Wii U.
Oh, chill out all you! I haven't seen so much whining, and complaining, sense the election. These are actually pretty good games, and I'd personally love to get discounts on them.
Though, I'd rather have "Wrecking Crew" for 3DS then WiiU personally. That's my only critique. It's a good game, believe it, or not, and even this site gave it a good score.
I suck at "Golf," but I still like it regardless as odd as that sounds.
@XCWarrior The Browns are 0.13, but 4 of those losses were within one score. They are by far the worst team in the league right now, but they aren't worse than My Nintendo. At least hardcore Browns fans actually spend their money to go see losses. Even the most hardcore Nintendo fans can't get behind this awful program. And the Transformers movies... eh. They aren't great but there are SO many worse movies out there. But my worst teacher moving in with me? Yikes. I try to block memories of that woman out of my mind. NO THANK YOU. My Nintendo and the Browns both have one thing in common: potential. Just look at the Raiders. Worst team in the NFL in 2015, now they're winning their division. Panthers in 2014 weren't very good, but they came out and made it to the Super Bowl in 2015. There is still hope for My Nintendo and the Browns. Transformers movies are just kind of eh what can you do? But moving in with the world's worst teacher? Count me out.
@happylittlepigs That was a very analytical approach to a joke question. But since you didd
1) MyNintendoRewards has devolved from Club Ninetendo, which was crumbling over the years. The only direction Nintendo's rewards program has gone in the last 8 years is down. I don't think it knows what direction is up.
2) Same exact answer goes for Browns. They may actually go -2 and -18 next year.
3) I picked the Transformers movies basically because its a franchise we should be able to enjoy, but they are so horribly bad that it has ruined my childhood love of them.
4) Hey, you never know, maybe that teacher actually wants some lovin'! But yeah seriously this was like a nightmare that popped in my head when I was making options.
PlayStation weekly sales have been soaking up all my cash, and I am pretty happy. I don't even check the eshop for sales anymore
LOL New Nintendo is so full of fail anymore it's comical.
fricking poop rewards
Forget you, guys. These are actually good games. Picked up "NES Open Tornement Golf," and "Mario Tennis," and have been enjoying them. Thinking of getting "Superstar Saga" too, as that was a great game too.
I wish they'd give us free titles again too, but you guys are acting so entitled, it's not even funny. Discounts aren't bad either.
Oh nice, ancient games my toaster can emulate. Thanks Ninty ^__^
