Re: "We Thought It Would Be Fun" - Nintendo Explains Why Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen Aren't On Switch Online

AussieMcBucket

@springer17 True, this could set a weird precedent. Though we do also have Super Mario Sunshine on NSO, right? I guess the difference there is that the other release was limited. But Nintendo did leave the door open for the possibility. So, I guess never say never. I still think they could just do both. Let those that want to "own" the games, buy them separately. That being said, it would probably be a nightmare to create sales and production projections for that. Certainly, more people will now pay for these than just play them on the service. But they do collect money with that, too. I don't think I'll buy these. I was hoping to revisit Blue on NSO, but alas, at this moment I cannot. And I think $20 is more than I wish to pay for that opportunity, even for the GBA version.

Re: 'Can You Use Labo VR Goggles For Virtual Boy Games On Switch?' & Other Nintendo Classics VB Questions Answered

@Sonicka I get that, but... People also insist on playing with CRT screens and original consoles. I'm sure Nintendo is going for some authenticity here. They've also sold recreations of the various controllers for the other Classics console lines. Right, they can make more money that way. But they probably want you to experience it the way that it was, at least at first.

Perhaps this will be in the hardware review, but is it the exact same experience with the cardboard headset as with the replica? Are you missing out on any features or something? I'm pretty sure I don't want to pay $100 for the replica, so I'd rather get the cardboard one. It is a bit much in price; it probably seems more palatable when compared to the other price.

Re: Nintendo Is Considering A Switch 2 Price Hike This Year, According To New Report

AussieMcBucket

Can't AI help us??!?! Has anyone asked ChatGPT what we should do?

Also, "contemplating?" That's not exactly, "I heard they're doing it." Of course they're contemplating that. We already heard that straight from the horse's mouth! Great insider analysis! rolls eyes
I still say Nintendo is too smart to do that, unless they try to make bundles or create value propositions in some other way. I understand at some point costs are what they are, but especially considering all the negativity around the Switch 2 since its launch, it could be pretty devastating to have a price increase at this point.

Re: Yes, Elden Ring & The Duskbloods Are Definitely Still Coming To Switch 2 In 2026

AussieMcBucket

I found the Dark Souls demo on Switch to not be for me. It was so punishing, and I gave up. I know people absolutely rave about Elden Ring. So maybe I could give it another shot. Perhaps they'll even have a demo!

I really hope Duskbloods is fantastic and something everyone wants, so that a Nintendo console gets a third-party game like that. And everyone will whine about the exclusivity, like with Bayonetta, but a lot of those people also dunk on Nintendo. We deserve an amazing original game from a 3rd-party dev!

Re: Video: Lego Pokémon Review Gives Us Our Best Look Yet

LEGO is also working on finding an alternative to plastic that they are satisfied with for the future. Which, to be clear, I think is great. But I wonder how expensive sets will be then. Theoretically, and particularly if the source is renewable and grown from plants, it shouldn't be pricier. But pricing conventions are absurd, and oil is heavily subsidized. Still, glad people find enjoyment from these. I love building them, anyway.

This guy in the video is pretty great. He's very thorough and gracious about everything while also being honest and realistic.

Re: Ubisoft Staff Push Back Against Company Restructure With Three-Day Strike

AussieMcBucket

@Olliemar28 Right, but that isn't the employees' fault. They "just work there." Yet they will be the ones who will be penalized for this bloat, not the supervisors and/or executives who over-hired and mismanaged the company to the point of unsustainability. Cutting costs nearly always goes to labor first. And that's the labor. The higher-ups may even be protected and get bonuses for THIS clever return-to-profit for the shareholders.
These ludicrous systems are so broken and unfair; we all should go on strike and demand a restructuring.
I wish them luck on their endeavor. It takes a lot of guts and strength to do it. I hope it pays off - literally and figuratively - for them.
