@TripleJump I hear you. But there is a huge list of tasks/achievements to complete. That's something! It is a quite tedious game though. And I'm not for creating things just for the heck of it. Never thrills me.

@outsider83 Definitely. At least with the internet part. I could definitely see there being tons of speculation about the future of Nintendo and all that. But yeah. Though they work really hard to make sure that the next generations are fully incorporated and engrossed in their methods and knowledge. Kit and Krysta said as much. Besides, look at how many of these people have resigned months before the public finds out about it. And we don't see the company cratering or anything like that. It's more sad than anything.

I gotta say, there are some really bizarre feature choices for this. And I would not have been surprised if this had been someone's April Fool's prank. I can't believe they actually use "a bunch" in their promotional materials. It also sounds like this could make you late for work? XD Very odd.

What I think is cool about this is that it sounds like they really went over everything with a fine-tooth comb to give us the best possible experience for the console by "adding" and "subtracting" here and there. Bravo, Square Enix!

Awesome, thanks so much for this review! And high praise indeed! I see what you're saying about the hair stuff in the screenshots. But, oh well, to me. I'm excited about this port. I haven't tried the demo yet, so I'll do that first. I have never really played a FF game - not really an RPG fan - but I'd like to at least try one. I know the iconic status of this game, so I figure it'd be good to check it out.
Would you recommend playing the original before this? I could see how it might help me appreciate the changes and enhancements. But I also know the story has a big twist, and maybe it would be better to just go through it with the remake series? Though I might be waiting years...

NO BUY. All of this stuff should have been in this game on DAY. ONE. In 2010.

Woof. I'll believe this when I see it. I suspect they will either eat the cost if they can or again raise prices on other things. I don't know. It's just too soon after the console release for them to raise the price on it. And people were so angry about the prices already. Plus, evidently, their sales pace slowed a fair amount recently. I just think they're smarter than that. But we'll see. #Capitalism
Sorry for all those that don't yet have a Switch 2 but still want one, if this does happen. Hopefully you can claim one before it does.

Too bad it doesn't carry over to the game, but this is still neat. I haven't played these games, so this will be a good way to try it.

@swima I think they should let us read the old issues. It's cool seeing the covers from way back when, but why can't we also view the inside pages? There are game guides and whatnot in them that could be useful for NSO releases, even!

Some of these releases make me wish we were also getting these games on NSO.
