Re: Pokémon-Themed Mini Game Boy Announced, Though It's Not What You Think

AussieMcBucket

Hold on, hold on...

So this thing costs ~60 bucks!?!? You have to carry around 45(!) tiny cartridges with you, that each play a song "or sound effect" from the game. It DOES NOT have a headphone jack. AND it requires 3 watch batteries???

If it were April 1, I would believe this. This may be the most ridiculous announcement I have ever seen from TPC/Nintendo. And I remember the Pokémon Go Plus+.

Re: Poll: What's Your Favourite 3DS Model?

AussieMcBucket

I tendo to buy Nintendo systems at launch - I have since at least Wii, maybe DS. And then I hold onto the original models - definitely the DS. I always get frustrated when they do those new models, especially if they "improve" them. But I don't see the point in trading in a system or even selling it. The value depreciates quickly for those sales. So, I "stick it out" with OG models. Not that I'm disappointed.

Re: Nintendo Treehouse Returns This Week With A Pair Of Gameplay Showcases

This is cool but also... random? Especially for Wonder, since that game was already released. I'm sure the multiplayer stuff will be showcased well in a Treehouse Live. But who do they think/know watches these things? I guess it will probably convert new sales.
Anyway, I wonder if we'll get additional announcements. I'm putting my money now on new Amiibo reveals.
And yeah, 40 minutes per game is kinda wild. You'd think they'd preview more titles for 80 minutes. But whatever, I'll watch.

Re: Talking Point: Our Pokémon Presents 2026 Predictions - What Are You Hoping For?

AussieMcBucket

Oh my gosh, I forgot about the Aardman collab! That needs to come out immediately!!
I'm not familiar with Day Out and Night Out. Were those in the leaks?
I'd love the pinball games, please!! Honestly, all the ones they've made - Mario, Metroid (though this is DS), Kirby. I've been thinking recently how I really want Nintendo to make another pinball game. They could do a different board (or machine?) for like, each franchise, all themed of course. I think it would be amazing.

Re: Review: Virtual Boy For Switch 1 & 2 - Is It Really Worth Revisting Nintendo's Greatest Folly?

AussieMcBucket

Thank you for the review!

I'm still a little confused by what you said about why the red filter is necessary. It's there because the menu screens are in color? Does the cardboard peripheral also have a changeable filter?

Also, could someone please let me/us know about the cardboard version? I'm very curious to see whether it delivers the exact same experience or not. I don't think I want to pay for the more expensive replica.
