Re: Review: Pokémon FireRed & LeafGreen (Switch) - Red-Hot Nostalgia In A So-So Wrapper

Who cares if save states make it easier? We're just revisiting old content anyway. They arguably make all the NSO games "easier." Big deal. Let us play them and figure that out for ourselves. Nintendo literally put out "SP" versions of NES games to aid us in hopefully reaching the ends of the games. Completing your Pokédex is a grind. Maybe helping people climb that mountain isn't such a bad thing.

@Kazman2007 I think they have zero for the rest of this year. Why else wouldn't they have shown it already? They'll probably tell us to replay our old games. What a joke. This system's going to fail. They're a dead company. They should just make games for mobile. And movies, apparently. I'm going back to my Xbox, the console with a future.

@HammerGalladeBro What is or will be interesting is how Nintendo is managing to print all their games on cartridges while most others do not. This game is only 10 GB, from what I saw. So storage is not an issue. Others have said that it is a read speed problem, where the speed of the cartridges cannot match that of the hard storage. I'm not disputing that, it sounds plausible. And it probably doesn't affect all games equally. But if it does pose a possible challenge, how is Nintendo getting around it, and will they continue to do so as they presumably continue to make even more complex and demanding Switch 2 titles? Otherwise, the reason that makes the most sense is a matter of profit. These companies are looking to maximize their gains, and one way they intend to do that is by offering us cheaper delivery methods and charging the usual prices. I imagine Nintendo doesn't pay as much to print cartridges, since they probably don't have to worry about a license or something and maybe have a stake in the manufacturers. Or maybe Nintendo just absorbs the added cost as a way of pleasing the customers and hopefully attracting more game sales with less than "outrageous" prices. I guess we will find out!

@Nep-Nep-Freak How exciting for you then, that's awesome! I feel like I've heard positive things about a lot of the points you're bringing up.

Well, that's great. Everyone experiences things differently. You're not enjoying the game IN SPITE of the technical shortcomings of it. You're just enjoying the game as it is. And that's pretty cool too. I'm glad you got to enjoy it so much.

Oh wow! Kind of a different direction there, haha. I'm not sure that game would be for me, but cheers to your fun!

@Nep-Nep-Freak I don't completely understand the "I'm glad they're waiting to get it right" argument. We've already had 1 or 2 Pokémon Presents before this one where they didn't announce the Gen10 games. I get what people are saying, but you could theoretically just say that forever with the assumption that the game can only be improved with more time. I'm not saying they should release it now if it's not "ready", but why didn't they just wait again and announce it next year, closer to its release? Oh well. I'm sure they wanted to drop it with the 30th anniversary.

What did you love about Violet? What did you not like about it? Which game surpassed it recently? (I never played S/V)

Always fire, for me. Their character design and naming constructions are almost always on point.
Oh, but those are definitely lashes on Gecqua. There's even an "eyelash gecko" or more correctly, a crested gecko. They are found on an island in the south Pacific. Could that be the locale inspiration? Though the pom doesn't seem to work there.
