Sonic and Knuckles facing off in front of a Chaos Emerald? As they'd say in the Super Bowl: Now that's a home run!
This latest Sonic the Hedgehog 2 trailer will be aired during this weekend's Super Bowl game between the Los Angeles Rams and the Cincinnati Bengals, which will take place on Sunday, February 13th at 6:30pm ET / 3:30pm PT.
The "Big Game Spot" includes a short bump of Tails, Sonic, and Knuckles being friendly on the pitch, before launching into a 30-second trailer that highlights the rivalry between Ben Schwartz's Sonic and Idris Elba's Knuckles. There's even a Marvel reference, and a giant Eggman robot. What more could you want?
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will be in cinemas on April 8th.

We enjoyed watching the first one on video - but this being big enough for a super bowl ad shows just how desperate hollywood is atm.
It will be like vaudeville in a decade's time. All but gone or severely changed. Hopefully for the better - story and performance driven rather than the current effects driven business model.

It's not the Super Bowl yet. When it gets to the point of showing the Super Bowl commercials 3 days before the Super Bowl, aren't we getting away from ourselves?

It's great that Sega is now in the Hollywood filmmaking business since aside from some Neon Genesis Evangelion films in 1997, all their previous films have been Korean. Sega was not involved in the Rebuild of Evangelion films.
Sega Films is a division of Sega that mostly works in South Korea.
My mother and sisters love watching Korean dramas and movies so they have seen a lot of Sega's Korean films.
I haven't seen a lot of Korean films but I loved the Neon Genesis Evangelion movies as much as I love the series and the Rebuild of Evangelion movies.
Get in the Tornado, Sonic. Or Tails will have to do it again.
I liked the bit where he said, “that wasn’t too bad”, and then a bad thing immediately happened.
It was a very comical moment because of how surprising it was, and the inherent juxtaposition between the statement and the following course of events.
Amazing how the writers manage to keep us on our toes. Wow.

That's not a Chaos Emerald - it's the Master Emerald.
These trailers have had juuuuuust enough hints of SA1 flavor that I'm beginning to suspect the movie may be a partial adaptation of that game.
