£40 extra for a book and poster etc, what a rip!
I'm always super-excited for CEs, but this one is an easy pass. Pretty disappointed actually.
Tempted to splurge on the Japanese version too, since the box art looks slightly better
@andyg1412 if it's anything like the one for Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light and Metroid Dread, it's going to be massive. I hope I can get a copy.
I pre-ordered it from Amazon Japan. I'll cancel it if I can get one stateside, but I don't think I will be able to get one.
I liked the look of Three Houses a lot more tbh. More serious gothic and/or sacred vibes.
Not the colors of a lollipop…
Excited for the game, but it's another overpriced steelbook and art book, like the Three Hopes one.

Always glad when I can just pass on these, not many are worth it. The only ‘special edition’ I ever got was xenoblade 2’s because the price was reduced by so much that it was the same price as the base game bought by itself. Quite a lucky day that was indeed.
Not really interested in another Fire Emblem game so soon tbh. I'll buy it for sure just not on day one.
I´ll wait for TRUE reviewers....not "first week paid reviews"...
Secured my Divine Edition by walking into a Gamestop and asking. (Not on their website yet, but it appears to be in their systems.)
I played Three Houses until after the transformation but had to quit, because the game felt too depressing and dark, which I really did not expect. The game itself is pretty good though.
This game seems more lighthearted and up my alley.
It's so good!
I only really care about CEs when they have a steelbook case and art book, and guess what... this has both!
The box is soooo gorgeous too. And the game in general is just spectacularly beautiful. You better believe I'm grabbing this! In fact put me down for two!
@eaglebob345 link to Amazon Japan?
Standard edition for me...I'll need to put aside coins for the OST that will surely come out later.
Edit: and then I still bought the divine edition.
Shopto refuses to accept any of my cards, so alas normal for me
Smyths had it for £79.99! I already secured it on my Nintendo so wasn’t constantly checking so I missed the £10 difference and what should have been the price on my Nintendo uk but is what it is , I don’t do shopto heard horror stories I’ve heard good aswell but one of things I like about my Nintendo is you can get extra stuff with platinum points and it forgoes delivery charge when bundled with any other orders bud that aside I don’t always mind paying the premium because 90% of the time they offer the best pre order bonus items, not always but peace of mind helps they always packed it nice and secure. It’s a bit expensive for this one tho I definitely think £79.99 (still expensive) but more people could have said I can stomach that if I didn’t have three houses limited I wouldn’t have gotten it
@S20TEW Yeah I only just caught the NLife article this evening as I've been working I missed Smyths, Nintendo Store and Amazon, so it was only ShopTo left. I'll wait for the inevitable restock.
Here in Canada, you can call any Gamestop and they'll reserve the pre-order for you!
Already pre ordered. I usually only buy collectors editions of certain games that I'm a big fan of such as Zelda, Xenoblade, Fire Emblem and a few others.
I'm actually thorn, I was planning to buy FE Three Houses, but this one was announced, so I think I'll wait for a couple of reviews before I get either this one or Three Houses.
@andyg1412
Nintendo Special Edition games are the only games that actually hold or increase in value
Wow I actually managed to secure a pre order on Best Buy Canada! First time in quite a while! These editions usually sell out immediately, & then I miss out! (Looking at you, Metroid Dread & Xenoblade 3!)
And here I thought the N-Gage was dead, now it is getting a new Fire Emblem game. To each their own, I guess.
@Hyrule yeah definitely restock il keep eye on smyths if I see anything il post here I missed bayonetta from them to which was £10 cheaper I’m just hoping they add decent pre order bonus items which used to be free but obviously now paying a premium for the chance
Luckily I was able to preorder the Divine Edition pet easily through GameStop Canada yesterday morning. However I just checked and it’s sold out today. Glad I got the preorder when I did. Can never rely on NintendoLife to post any Canadian links.
@SwitchForce I don't know if we are allowed to post links here. However:
If you are in the UK, replace .co.uk with .co.jp
If you are in the US, replace .com with .co.jp
Then search for Fire Emblem. It didn't come up when I search it as Fire Emblem Engage, for some reason.
You can post links to Amazon there is no law against that. Member posted links to other sites and there was no issue. No if you posted a link to Adult sites that's different.
They Sold Out ... I looked at GameStop and it's gone. So this only seemed to last two day PreOrders is what I can tell. BB and Amazon might have it later but sounds like it was only through GameStop hopefully not Exclusive.
@SwitchForce Oh ok. I just saw it on target right now.
@Fujin Good to know post that link if possible since GameStop no longer exists.
@SwitchForce I just preordered my copy on Target: https://www.target.com/p/fire-emblem-engage-divine-edition-nintendo-switch/-/A-87650537#lnk=sametab
Had mine pre-ordered on shop to for months now
Wait until release day
Head to Argos
Pick up game for £40
Play game safe in the knowledge I've not been ripped off
is it me or this CE is kind of boring?
Bayonetta... Metroid... Fire Emblem.... all boring editions
Bayonetta had a paperback artbook which was cheap, here it looks the same
@Hyrule same happened to me, but PayPal worked
Played it at midnight. What a fantastic game. The battle system is great! Can't wait to dive in again after work!
Excellent game! I like the lollipop colours and most of all the more combat-based FE. And the game looks so good, with much details in the characters and great animations combined with powerful combat moves. I recommend reading the interviews with the devs on Nintendo UKs homepage.
