In terms of ports id like to see:
Forza 5 (it can run on Xbox One so I could see it)
GTA 5 even if its just the story mode (hell give me 4 too for that matter)
Red Dead Redemption 2 (seems almost a given at this point)
Hi Fi Rush (there were rumors of it on the Switch)
Mass Effect trilogy (great series and after KH is top of my list for ports
Sonic Adventure trilogy (yes im including Heroes)
Sonic Advance trilogy + Battle (,because why not?)

I imagine they'll at least announce a release date for FF7 Rebirth too

If the rumors are true then the Kingdom Hearts games could be getting native ports. If the rumors of it being ready to go id love a shadow drop.

I went into a Game recently and it was the same problem with EB Games here in NZ. Quarter of the store at best was games and rest was toys, pops and other junk. And now EB Games is gone here

The new James Bond looks cool. Need to pick up FF7 Remake once I cleared some of the backlog

Have heard a number of rumours for 3rd party games. All the Kingdom Hearts games for one which would be awesome as they're at the top of my wishlist for ports. Have also heard Mafia: Old Country which was a little out of the blue but id pick it up. There's also the rumour of WWE 2k26 releasing same day as PS5/Xbox. Wouldn't surprise if they at least formally announce FF7 Rebirth either with a confirmed release date or time frame.

Aside from KH id love to get the Mass Effect Trilogy too.

@GoproGO I still can't see it. There's been no talk of revamped gameplay or graphics and there was never a huge jump between PS4 and PS5 like there was between PS3 and PS4. If anything the S2 version ran better than the PS4 so im expecting it will still run fine.

Probably give it a miss. Only got 2k25 a few months back and these games aside from roster never really change much year on year. Will see what 2k27 offers.

Ive got the Savage Raven grip and that does it for me in terms of making things ergonomic. The buttons and sticks are bigger and nicer on the S2 compared to the original so Im not too bothered about that either. The only thing I want is a decent d pad but hopefully a company like Hori will do what they did with the original and make a Joy Con with one.

I second Manic, Sonia and Sticks. Loved Underground as a kid and loved Boom probably more than I should've as an adult. Manic and Sonia never made it into a game either so would be cool to see them in.

@Henners I think they sold out over the Holidays and they never ordered more stock in. Makes me think they knew well beforehand they were shutting especially with how long their Boxing Day sale went for.

@TakaM figures. They stopped letting you buy stuff of the website last night and probably used this morning to shift inventory. Cant do click and collects on the website until Friday for some reason. Looks like the shops are meant to be staying open until the end of the month but I could see some shops getting shut beforehand.

Shame to see EB Games closing. I brought most of my games from their shops since I got a PS2 in 2003. Over the last few years id either buy from them or JBHIFI depending on price and convenience. Bought a few games and a memory card over Christmas and New Years when they had their 30% off sales. The sales were still running after they first announced they were looking at closing so I went in and picked up a few more for old times sake. Good thing too because they announced today starting at 1pm 50% off games and merch and there were lines out the door everywhere in the country. Sucks for all the employees.

Years ago they stopped trades on PS2, PS3, 360 and other retro consoles and I think that was a big mistake considering the boom in retro gaming. Mightve been able to stop some of the bleeding. They only just started accepting retro trade ins again. Instead they focused on merch, shirts, funkos and other game adjacent stuff. Heck when I went in last they only had about 25% of the shop dedicated to games.

Now if only we could get a collection with Quackshot, Castle and World of Illusion

The price of the Switch 2 on release was a bit steep and it could get worse. No regrets about buying mine but I could've easily held off by a few months to a year and kept going with my Switch. Outside of Mario Kart, Hyrule Warriors and Kirby Air Riders I haven't picked up many exclusives yet but a few ports and Switch 2 versions. It'll get better but so far there hasn't been a real system seller.

I went to my local EB Games for one last look around and picked up a few games. The stores these days are like a quarter games and the rest is merch, toys, Funkos, shirts, etc. I think instead of pivetting to merch they should've gone back to accepting retro trade ins. Mightve helped kept them going

A new Mario game will release alongside the movie and I reckon it'll be Mario Galaxy 3 to tie it all together.

Super Smash Bros will get a Switch 2 edition with a 3rd character pass.

Mario Kart World will get some dlc.

Gamecube Online will add Smash Melee, Metroid Prime 2 and 3 and the Sonic Adventure games over the year.

Since the Wii U well has been drained I expect some ports from the Wii and 3DS to help pad their release schedule.

Outside of those I expect some more 3rd party titles. Mix of new games and ports.

Solid 7.5 overall from me.

The hardware itself is great and I find it comfier to play over the original switch. Battery life isn't great but ive been able to get some decent life out of the games I've played. Today will be the real test as im traveling.

Games wise its been good but not great. Played Mario Kart, WWE 2k25, Kirby Air Riders and Star Crossed World, Fast Fusion and Hogwarts Legacy. Decent games to get started and in the new year i'll pick up a a few more games like FF7 Remake, Sonic Crossworlds, Hyrule Warriors, Donkey Kong or Assassins Creed.

Hoping for a new Mario soon and hopefully some proper ports of the Kingdom Hearts games.

My main concern is that the Switch relied a lot on Wii U game releases. Since that well has been just about tapped dry im curious to see how long they'll be able to patch holes in their release schedule. Im expecting a few Wii remasters in the next few years. Fine for me since I never had a Wii but not so good for others.

I've got a 256gb card but i'll need to upgrade to a 1tb when I can. FFVII Remake and WWE 2k25 alone are about 160gb and I've got a number of Switch 1 games. Will just be cautious with space for a while and then when I upgrade the card I can have more of my collection.

I've got a 256gb card and so far I've got about 120gb left to use but ive only got maybe a third of my Switch 1 games on it and the internal storage. When I can get my hands on a 1tb card that will be used exclusively for Switch 2 games and i'll put my most used S1 games on the internal and then my 256gb card will have just S1 games on it. I plan on getting Kirby Air Riders, Sonic Crossworlds and Hyrule Warriors on cart and then download FF7 so I should be okay for space for a wee while.

@AG_Awesome from what I've heard the framerate is more stable but they haven't fixed some glitches and the textures just look muddy

I hear Batman Arkham Knight is still bad

Very good. Probably won't replay it for a while though but nice to know when I do it'll be a nicely updated version

If they're putting in more Sonic characters I could also see Fang and Trip making it in since they were in the latest 2D game. Fang already has a vehicle so hed fit in well.

If it leads to Red and Blue from Gunstar Heroes both getting in id be happy

Never been much of a Zelda fan but I enjoyed the first 2 Hyrule Warriors games (the first one more so than the second) so i'll pick this up sooner than later once I've cleared some of the backlog. I typically play them on easy and enjoy just mindlessly bashing hoards if enemies.

@VeganH no you don't. The first game was its own thing and AOC was a separate timeline.

In saying that both games I enjoyed so id say you should play them if you get the chance

I'll get it eventually but im in no hurry. I enjoyed the other 2 Hyrule Warriors games but they weren't my favorites.

Forza 5 would be cool. Other than that there aren't a lot of games that id want. They've already ported the Ori games and both were great. Id be more excited if Sony ported the Spider-Man games to be honest than anything Xbox related.

Had no intention of buying this but ive heard some good stuff so the demo is worth a crack I reckon

Id like to see more Sega characters over random like SpongeBob and TMNT. Give me Red and Blue from Gunstar Heroes, Bayonetta, some characters from Streets of Rage and Golden Axe and hell throw in Ecco the Dolphin. A dolphin driving a car would be funny as hell.

Ive only ever played Pokémon Shining Pearl and it was fine. I thought about trying this but there are other games I want to try first

Looks interesting and different but im not sure if I'll take a chance on it until I get a decent sized memory card. I feel like the camera is a bit too close to the character. Also they totally lifted some of those scenes from Evangelion and im not really into existential dread these days.

Just finished a playthrough on Xbox so I doubt id pick it up again for a while even though I thought it was perfect. Id be more keen for the also rumoured GTA4 port.

I like Mario Kart World and when it comes to Switch 2 I'll probably like Sonic Crossworlds and enjoy both games.

I picked up the physical copy because it was only $30 more than buying Galaxy 2 digitally alone so I figured what the heck I'll buy both. Was always going to buy Galaxy 2 since I've never played it before.

Figures they'd be chomping at the bits to put Lesnar back into this as soon as he was "cleared."

Am looking forward to this but I can wait. Am picking up the Mario Galaxy games so have something to play while I wait.

Ive played a few Double Dragon games lately and this i think looks good. Looks a bit like Streets of Rage 4 and better than Neon. Will give this a look.

I think i played more Disney and Looney Toons games when I was younger. I played Ren and Stimpy on Sega and that game was fun. If it gets included I might pick it up but right now it does nothing for me.

I'll get the collection. I played the first Galaxy in the 3D collection and it was the only game I really loved playing. I was going to pick up 2 by itself but for $30 I can get the first one and not have to have the 3D collection installed.

I get why others are mad though.

I'd be more excited for 16 than 14. Never been a big online gamer.

Sounds like with the engine issues the best we'll get from 15 is the Pocket Edition which is certainly a way to play the game. I mean I have it and it's a fun little way to experience the story but no way to experience the game.

From what I've heard the Yakuza series was basically Shenmue done right so I'll give that series a go instead.

Top of my list are the Kingdom Hearts game proper. Not the crappy cloud versions.

Forza 5 would be cool as would the Mass Effect trilogy. I imagine if the rumored GTA4 port/remaster happens a S2 version would be good. I'm surprised there wasn't a version of GTA5 released on the original Switch since it started life as a PS3/360 game. Even if it had to forgo multi-player. If it got an S2 port under the same circumstances it would still be cool.

RDR2 im playing on Xbox currently. Great game but I don't know if I'd buy it again but I know others would.

Still a number of ports they could do. They've got Galaxy 2, Mario 64 DS, all the New Super Mario Bros games and 3D Land. Could do a couple of decent collections.

Forza, Kingdom Hearts, FF7 Remake release date, RDR2, GTA4, Sonic Advance trilogy either standalone or part of Online and Yakuza 2.

I'd be happy if they put Ratchet and Clank and Spider-Man 2 on S2. I want to play both games but can't justify buying a PS5 for just 2 games. Even if the visuals need a downgrading I'd be happy just to play them.
