It is useful to buy the game-key cards only if I want to resell the game, otherwise I will take the digital version directly. It will be interesting to see if these cards contain part of the game. That is, if for example the all-digital game is 80GB and the card contains 64GB with a download of only 16GB then they could be useful to save space on the console.
Very interesting. In fact "Welcome Tour" makes me think of a tutorial to introduce the new console, and it bothers me that it is paid. But from the Japanese title there could be more, we'll see. It will be interesting to see the reviews and then we'll decide whether to buy it or not.
I think it's pointless to talk about the price of MKW now. I would wait for the event on April 17th and then June 5th. At that time we will know if the game's content is adequate for the price. Talking now is just making assumptions.
Interesting comparison, I'll wait for June 5th for more details. I think they're targeting two different market segments though. I've always seen Steam Deck as the handheld for those who are already in the Steam world.
@lovesushi In the FAQ they say that payment for pre-orders is 7-14 days before release. When I bought my console, I read that the payment will be advanced a few days to ensure delivery on June 5th. However, the exact date of payment is not indicated.
@StreetDev92 Yes me too, but it could arrive from April 8th to 11th, I could refresh for 4 days! I feel a bit stupid in the end they convinced me, despite all the various complaints...
I don't know, I'm not interested in game chat. But in my opinion, if you introduce a feature like this, which will seem old to many players, you have to do it well, without slowdown. It would have been better to remove the video rather than do it badly, that's my opinion.
I think it's a problem with third party games, but there may be larger cards in the future, we'll have to see the costs and if they'll be used. 64GB might be a limit just for this first wave of games, I hope.
I'm not a fan of mouse mode on consoles, I play sitting on the couch or lying down, it's not very practical to use mice, which don't seem to be the best in terms of ergonomics, but I'll have to try first. For me it's an additional and optional method, someone might like it.
@SillyG @Jeronan Yes but excluding additional languages, the news says that the game is all on the card without download, but on the game page it only talks about the size of 64 GB, it does not say that no download will be required, here is my doubt.
But where is it said that the game is all contained in the card and does not require additional downloads? On the game page I read: "Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition will be available for purchase in a physical 64 GB game card or through a download on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2. Additional language packs can be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch 2, which may affect the final size of the game". Did I miss something?
Interesting game also because of its rarity. Maybe the price could have been lower given the lack of QoL and additional content or online rankings like Arcade Archives games.
However, Switch 2 edition could refer to future cross-gen games that will be released in double editions for Switch 1 and 2, not necessarily upgrade patches for games already released.
So as soon as I buy Switch 2, I will be able to move games (virtual cards) from Switch 1 to 2. But if I move a game to 2, I won't be able to play it on 1. Not great, I hope at least that cloud saving is shared.
In addition to purchasing Xenoblade Chronicles X and pre-ordering Gal Guardians, I also picked up Assault Suit Leynos 2. It's one of the best 2D titles in the Saturn library and for the first time it's officially available with an English translation.
I am interested in the game, too bad for the technical problems highlighted in the review. I will wait to buy it, if it improves with the patches, also because the price is not exactly cheap.
I'm playing it now, it's a nice game even if the character is a bit heavy and slow in movements. However it's not really a metroidvania, but an action platformer where it's possible to revisit the levels already completed just to get other rewards and items. The main problem in my opinion is the slowness of the character which makes the optional backtracking a little boring..
I have about 50 games, including 20 for NEO GEO. I prefer to buy the games that interest me rather than subscription services, even if they are probably cheaper.
I don't know why Nintendo doesn't allow the purchase of individual games to add to account-related library, in addition to the subscription. It would be an additional possibility that would not decrease the value of the subscription. I don't think there would be any licensing issues. And the main point of the NSO is online gaming, everything else is bonuses.
I already bought the digital version a couple of months ago, an excellent remastered. But why do they continue to announce physical versions months after the digital release? Wouldn't it be more correct to say already at the release that there will be both versions and that the physical versioni will come later?
I'm definitely not happy, I buy a lot of games digitally. I understand that there could be a new similar scheme for Switch 2, but these choices seem to me to go against the statements of the president of Nintendo a few days ago, when he spoke about continuing to support Switch at least in the next few months. Not a good start with Switch support in future, I think.
I still have the System Shock floppy disks, played on my old 486. Didn't play the 2, didn't have the PC powerful enough at the time. So an obligatory purchase on Switch for me, even with 25 (or 26) years of delay.
Guns of Fury and Ultros, because I can't get enough of MetroidVania! I don't see Ultros on the list, it came out today for Switch (at least in Europe).
I would like the choice between LCD and OLED models upon release, rather than an OLED model in 2 or 3 years. I would be willing to spend more for the OLED model now. But if I bought the LCD version when it came out, I think I would always stick with that, I won't buy the OLED version in the future. For me, Nintendo must offer the two models immediately, with two different prices for sure. Then the customer chooses what to buy.
The problem with the eShop is that junk games have the same visibility as everyone else. They are always on the front page, with 90% discounts and new packages that repeat every month (deluxe version, super extra and so on). We need a review and rating system like on Steam that brings these games to the bottom of the release list. If I want to buy the new "H3nt4i Waifu Simulator Deluxe", I have to look for it on purpose, I don't want it on the front page!
I completed 2 of the 3 available campaigns and the game didn't seem that difficult; I found Commandos and Desperados to be more punishing. There are also options to lower the difficulty, to decrease the attention level of the guards. You can bribe guards to reduce surveillance! I recommend it to all lovers of stealth games.
Really good game, I'm having fun with this motorvania. Just curious: does anyone know what the difference is between this version and the one published last year on the eShop and then delisted?
I wonder if the genre is starting to get a little saturated. I really like metroidvanias but, only on Switch there are at least 2 or 3 released per month, I can't buy them all. But not only the money, I also lack the time to play with them
Excellent collection, the games offered are almost all classics. But I have already bought 5 or 6 of these games in the ACA version, which also offers Caravan and hi score modes. I think this collection came out late, many fans will have already picked up a good part of these games. Otherwise it's a great buy.
@PikminMarioKirby I also thought about the 3DS which initially sold for €250 and then dropped to €160, the same price as the DS. In that case I think the problem was that the 3DS cost almost as much as the Wii U, €50 less if I remember correctly, that is, a price too close to the living room console. Now the difference no longer exists, we'll see. I'm hoping for a price that isn't too high, max €450 for console + a game would be good for me.
This is the third time they've released it, but there are 150 million potential users on Switch. For many of them it is the first time to be able to play it. We can argue about the price, but it's a great game.
Really well made and quick to use. Among what is missing in the official store, for me the most important is the user reviews. I use this feature a lot on Steam before buying. The anti-garbage filters are also excellent!
I don't think it's entirely wrong to write "based on the work of the original staff team". Because that's really the case, the original team didn't work on the remaster. Then it may happen that a developer of the original title is not happy with the work done with the remaster. He might be annoyed to see himself in the credits of a title that he considers a bad porting work.
Volume 4 is interesting because Neo Geo Cup '98 is delisted, it has no longer been available for purchase for a few years on the Nintendo e-shop, at least in Europe.
I liked it, it's a great remaster with many improvements as the free camera. But the game was published for €60 and after 2 months it is on sale at 30% on the e-shop and at 50% on Steam. Maybe if they sold it immediately for €40 it would have had better sales. And then I don't like, as a consumer, that a game I got on day 1 is already half price after just 2 months.
It's not easy to review an old game, but I was thinking about other media. In a review of the 8K version of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly or the "stratospheric sound" version of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, the reviewer would have focused only on the quality of the port/remaster, not making a comparison between Satisfaction and the modern music scene, I suppose. Maybe even old video games should be reviewed like this. For this game, among the cons I would have put a slight stuttering which is mainly noticeable in the chase scenes.
