I already bought the digital version a couple of months ago, an excellent remastered. But why do they continue to announce physical versions months after the digital release? Wouldn't it be more correct to say already at the release that there will be both versions and that the physical versioni will come later?
I'm definitely not happy, I buy a lot of games digitally. I understand that there could be a new similar scheme for Switch 2, but these choices seem to me to go against the statements of the president of Nintendo a few days ago, when he spoke about continuing to support Switch at least in the next few months. Not a good start with Switch support in future, I think.
I still have the System Shock floppy disks, played on my old 486. Didn't play the 2, didn't have the PC powerful enough at the time. So an obligatory purchase on Switch for me, even with 25 (or 26) years of delay.
Guns of Fury and Ultros, because I can't get enough of MetroidVania! I don't see Ultros on the list, it came out today for Switch (at least in Europe).
I would like the choice between LCD and OLED models upon release, rather than an OLED model in 2 or 3 years. I would be willing to spend more for the OLED model now. But if I bought the LCD version when it came out, I think I would always stick with that, I won't buy the OLED version in the future. For me, Nintendo must offer the two models immediately, with two different prices for sure. Then the customer chooses what to buy.
The problem with the eShop is that junk games have the same visibility as everyone else. They are always on the front page, with 90% discounts and new packages that repeat every month (deluxe version, super extra and so on). We need a review and rating system like on Steam that brings these games to the bottom of the release list. If I want to buy the new "H3nt4i Waifu Simulator Deluxe", I have to look for it on purpose, I don't want it on the front page!
I completed 2 of the 3 available campaigns and the game didn't seem that difficult; I found Commandos and Desperados to be more punishing. There are also options to lower the difficulty, to decrease the attention level of the guards. You can bribe guards to reduce surveillance! I recommend it to all lovers of stealth games.
Really good game, I'm having fun with this motorvania. Just curious: does anyone know what the difference is between this version and the one published last year on the eShop and then delisted?
I wonder if the genre is starting to get a little saturated. I really like metroidvanias but, only on Switch there are at least 2 or 3 released per month, I can't buy them all. But not only the money, I also lack the time to play with them
Excellent collection, the games offered are almost all classics. But I have already bought 5 or 6 of these games in the ACA version, which also offers Caravan and hi score modes. I think this collection came out late, many fans will have already picked up a good part of these games. Otherwise it's a great buy.
@PikminMarioKirby I also thought about the 3DS which initially sold for €250 and then dropped to €160, the same price as the DS. In that case I think the problem was that the 3DS cost almost as much as the Wii U, €50 less if I remember correctly, that is, a price too close to the living room console. Now the difference no longer exists, we'll see. I'm hoping for a price that isn't too high, max €450 for console + a game would be good for me.
This is the third time they've released it, but there are 150 million potential users on Switch. For many of them it is the first time to be able to play it. We can argue about the price, but it's a great game.
Really well made and quick to use. Among what is missing in the official store, for me the most important is the user reviews. I use this feature a lot on Steam before buying. The anti-garbage filters are also excellent!
I don't think it's entirely wrong to write "based on the work of the original staff team". Because that's really the case, the original team didn't work on the remaster. Then it may happen that a developer of the original title is not happy with the work done with the remaster. He might be annoyed to see himself in the credits of a title that he considers a bad porting work.
Volume 4 is interesting because Neo Geo Cup '98 is delisted, it has no longer been available for purchase for a few years on the Nintendo e-shop, at least in Europe.
I liked it, it's a great remaster with many improvements as the free camera. But the game was published for €60 and after 2 months it is on sale at 30% on the e-shop and at 50% on Steam. Maybe if they sold it immediately for €40 it would have had better sales. And then I don't like, as a consumer, that a game I got on day 1 is already half price after just 2 months.
It's not easy to review an old game, but I was thinking about other media. In a review of the 8K version of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly or the "stratospheric sound" version of (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction, the reviewer would have focused only on the quality of the port/remaster, not making a comparison between Satisfaction and the modern music scene, I suppose. Maybe even old video games should be reviewed like this. For this game, among the cons I would have put a slight stuttering which is mainly noticeable in the chase scenes.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects (February 2025)
Momodora is a good game, but there were two other metroidvanias released this month that I found better: Ultros and Lone Fungus.
