@Spoony_Tech My easiest to find source is Nintendo's official site for Razor's edge, as Nintendo only gives games it publishes their own sites. http://ninjagaiden3.nintendo.com/ I also have a boxed copy that shows Ninty as the publisher, but I don't know how to put pictures in comments here. I had others, but I couldn't find them quick enough given I have a quick errand and their ~4 years old. And BTW, the ported versions of Razor's Edge just came day 1 with all the content added as free update dlc to the Wii U on disc.
Am I the only one kinda annoyed by this all on the 3ds but not Wii U? I bought the Wii U version for 60 only to learn a year and a half later I could've just waited and gotten all the Wii U dlc and more for the same price.
@DarthNocturnal The Zero/Guard bundle is the standard $60 here in the US, so since it's NOA for both regions, Canada should get the equivalent of that price for both.
@walrusballs Technically speaking we already got the XCX DLC. NOJ made some paid DLC a few months after the Japanese launch in late April with side quests that added a few new party members: H.B, Alexa, The Murderess, and I think 2 or 3 others, haven't found them yet. But since there was a 7-8 month period between the Japanese and international releases, NOA and NOE added the DLC missions to the base disc, so our version of XCX was essentially a "Game of the Year" edition of the Japanese version.
You know given this site's love of pointing out every little localization change, I'm surprised no one here's flipped over the VC version of Pokemon Yellow and its changes with Jynx, which had its sprite recolored in the US VC version to reflect its redesign, which was a result of similar stuff to all the complaints on both ends we see today. Thanks Serebii for pointing it out to me on the site. http://serebii.net/yellow/virtualconsole.shtml
@Zoda_Fett Any copy bought in the first run of the game, regardless of preorder or retailer, will have the card. The only thing that will prevent you from getting it is if you go to a store day 1 and all their copies are already preordered
@Steven1094 remake pairs have never gotten 3rd versions to begin with. FR/LG are the only gen 1 remakes and HG/SS were the only gen 2 ones, so OR/AS we're more than likely never getting a 3rd version no matter what
I hope they do something like in gen 2 where if you transfer your starter Pikachu from Yellow he can get you something exclusive in Sun and Moon since that was the only way to get a light ball in gen 2, but it needs to be something new since those are fairly common these days
@TheLastLugia I think most of us believed Gematsu was on the money since until Robin and Lucina were confirmed and Chrom was deconfirmed, he got everyone revealed up to that point correct and not just WFT.
@Wolfgabe Please don't remind of Batman, I'm still pretty salty over Arkham Origins on Wii U since it failed to keep the awesome Wii U features Arkham City had (which should've been pretty darn easy to keep given WB Montreal were the ones who came up with them to begin with) and the fact that they took my money for the season pass, failed to deliver said content due to a "lack of demand" despite the Wii U version and season pass selling better than the PC equivalents which still got the content, and didn't even refund me since Nintendo voluntarily took the hit for me and many others while greedy a** WB took my money to help the other systems get DLC. It was my final straw with those guys, and I don't see myself buying anything from them again.
@Xenocity you mentioned Ubisoft and Watch Dogs being the reason they quit, but I think it was actually with Black Flag and Rayman for not meeting expectations. I remember Rayman being delayed and ported since a multiplatform release would've supposedly done better but didn't even make the numbers they predicted as an exclusive. And a lot of people got fed up (myself included) when they delayed the Wii U version of Watch Dogs for 6 months because they didn't want to make non-wii u owners wait, which backtracked on their Rayman logic and consequently put a day 1 version of the game for 60 when the other versions were available for 20 during the same release week as Smash. I really don't get how they expected that one to sell.
While the consensus of more advertising helping is true, it could end up backfiring if EA half a**es and sends off all their games to die on NX like they did with the Wii U. FIFA and Madden had the vast majority of their major features stripped at launch, and don't even get me started on how they thought $60 for a bare bones version of Mass Effect 3 on Wii U when you could get a full package with DLC version of the whole trilogy on literally anything else for the same price and expect the former to sell. If these games were stripped again AND be among the heavily advertised NX games, I'd lose any and all faith I have in Nintendo.
@Denngar Smash 64 was originally gonna be a Japan exclusive game, so they had an extreme bias of choosing characters who were either popular or had recent games. On top of that, the game's 4 hidden fighters (Jiggly, Luigi, C. Falcon, and Ness) were all made be cloning and reworking members of the original 8 to varying degrees. Ness exists in Smash because he was popular in Japan and was able to be reworked (to an extremely significant degree) from Mario in 64.
@leo13 Just as a heads up for you, Roy is still available to preorder from Gamestop in the US (he's a GS exclusive), though it hasn't been officially confirmed whether or not Fates will support him in a future patch (its possible both him and Corrin could get their amiibos patched in). Also, while he currently isn't in stock, Ike has also been a GS exclusive since Black Friday, so they currently have a grasp on FE characters. Though Robin and Lucina haven't been restocked since launch and are still among if not outright the rarest amiibos in the US, so unfortunately I can't help you other than look at Gamestop for the future since those guys seem to like Fire Emblem.
@TheRegginator @Chaoz Players themselves don't care too much for wireless controllers either way, but TOs are a little ocd about them since a rouge wireless controller still linked to a not currently being used by the player setup can cause issues if it hasn't been properly de-synched to the point most tournies ban them to avoid the issue. I personally never cared either way, but there are some in the community who do.
@rjejr I think picking up multiple versions in this case is a lot more worthwhile than in Pokemon's. Pokemon is a full price buy for a few different Pokemon in game whereas with Fates it's a half price buy for another full game's worth of content added on. And anything beyond the three main paths is mostly unrelated to the main games, so you don't have to pay or play it if you don't want too.
You know, if there's one thing Bayonetta's addition in Smash (specifically her reveal trailer) taught me, is we need a Kid Icarus/Bayonetta crossover at some point. It could have two prologue stories, one following Pit on the light and the other following Bayonetta on the dark, before a main campaign possibly with Hades and Balder working together that would bring Pit and Bayonetta together and have them trade off player roles in some way. Both Uprising and the Bayonetta games are high speed action games, and the lores seem like they can tie in together pretty well.
@Vandy Shovel Knight likely didn't get enough votes to be in since his game hadn't been released in Japan yet, that and Nintendo might have just said no to him being in. Fire Emblem arguably became a pillar franchise after Awakening, and the Inklings probably weren't as popular as the internet made them out to be, much like the other characters that got mii costumes. Wolf (and all other vets) was accounted for in Bayonetta's rankings as stated by Sakurai stating "these rankings include fighters from previous games in the series Bomberman could be a casualty of Konami going south pretty much. Snake, just combine what I said on Wolf and Bomberman together. All the others, again, not as popular in the actual ballot as the internet made them out to be. In a blind democracy (which the ballot was within certain restrictions), a silent majority will usually beat a vocal minority, and especially a lot of them
@Vandy You're argument against Bayonetta doesn't really hold ground. First off fan polls were not the actual ballot, and mostly had scripted option lists and didn't even have Bayonetta since most of us thought she was too mature. And in terms of the actual ballot, remember her rankings: 1st in Europe Top 5 in the US (we'll assume 5th) No real noteworthy ranking in Japan One would argue the US and Europe likely make between 60 and 80% of the votes, and while presumably the top 4 in the US and high ranking Japan choices (and Europe's lower ranked characters) could get a higher vote for a few characters, chances are the fighters that beat Bayonetta were one of four options:
A non video game character, which Sakurai outright said wouldn't happen.
A 3rd party character who couldn't be added since Nintendo or the owners wouldn't allow them too. Which presumably eliminates anyone from Sega, Capcom, Namco, or Square as they would both sides seem fine in each party's case
A 1st party character who couldn't be added due to being an assist trophy/stage boss. And by consequence Bayonetta presumably beat any 1st party fighter that wasn't one of these except...
Ice Climbers, which were cut due to the 3DS.
Long Story short, fan polls weren't the ballot, and the other possible winners couldn't have been added.
@Vandy That's not even close to true, while Sakurai chooses a few members of the roster based off his personal opinions/release trends in Nintendo around the game's development, most are based off general fan demand. Only about a third of the newcomers added were not specifically from fan demand were Wii Fit, Greninja, Miis, Robin, Lucina, Duck Hunt, and Corrin, which counts for even less when you consider Greninja became popular between X/Y and his Smash reveal and Lucina is a simple bonus character. Even the DLC was almost all fan demand, there was a general demand for the DLC vets and Ryu, Cloud was added due to high FF requests in the ballot, and Bayonetta was the highest voted request worldwide among realizable fighters. And Corrin's addition, while being the only DLC fighter to be out of the blue, was more Nintendo telling Sakurai to put him in as opposed to his own decision as he's stated he even thought he was adding too many FE fighters with Corrin.
@InternetBowser Believe it or not, there are people who like the lesser popular Pokemon and/or consider them among their favorites (not me personally, but I know a few people). And Nintendo keeps all the Pokemon to service all their fans and let them reuse them from game to game.
@polarbear I think it's likely we'll see the Bayonetta amiibo in May since we seem to be getting Smash amiibo roughly every 2 months, Roy and Ryu come out in March, and Fates/Bayonetta 2 rerelease will have been out for a few months so releasing her and Corrin while the games are only a few months old will help drive amiibo hype
@Dankykong The Shadow Mewtwo comes with the first print, however you mentioned Hyrule Warriors and that doesn't rule out specific functionality since the Zelda amiibo unlock stuff specific to their characters in HW (namely powerful weapons for them). Because of this it's not unreasonable to assume other Pokemon won't have something specific to them (maybe a special skin or something) in addition to the random stuff from other amiibo. And assuming the card will read like normal Mewtwo outside Pokken, much like Toon Link, Dr Mario and ZSS read like their normal counterparts outside Smash, it's possible that it could substitute for a Mewtwo figure in Smash and unlock the Mewtwo costume in Mario Maker.
@yokokazuo Assuming the cards have nfc chips, it's likely that the shadow Mewtwo card could read like a normal Mewtwo in Smash, but that hasn't been 100% confirmed yet
I think if there's one thing Nintendo should do with this program, they should remind people periodically that they can redeem the benefits. I completely forgot I was part of the digital deluxe promotion until NL posted that it was about to end the day before and almost missed out on $25 bucks of eshop credit
@Gridatttack To answer your question about all Pokemon being available: yes and no. Yes in that throughout the real world, there will be all the Pokemon. But no in that, much like how certain Pokemon are only in certain parts of the main games, a fair chunk of Pokemon will only appear in certain parts of the world, with a few potentially available worldwide.
I used to really like the lego games, but after Lego City, they kinda just went downhill from there. I played lego Marvel and it just didn't feel good, then there was the delay of lego Hobbit on the Wii U and getting screwed on lego Batman dlc (again, might I add, still a little salty from Arkham Origins) and I just said **** it! Though if these Star Wars games play like the originals, I might come back.
@sillygostly I think Greninja would make sense simply because it's the most popular of the gen 6 starters and marketing/sales wise it would make sense to stick to the popular ones. Look at the roster, all of them are extremely popular save Weavile, Chandelure, Machamp (though some will argue that it's maintained decent popularity), and Braixen (though I hear it's a lot more popular now due to being in the anime). Point is at max a quarter of the 16 member roster is not super popular. Maybe they'll throw in one or two more obscure Pokemon, but it's more than likely Chandelure was our last oddball reveal.
A lot of people are mentioning the idea of Nintendo going 3rd party, but I don't think that would work since the only games I could see selling on both Playstation and Xbox are Mario, Zelda and Pokemon. Beyond that we have a few franchises that could do well on one or the other, but not both (Metroid comes to mind as one that would do well on PS but not Xbox), and pretty much every other smaller franchise getting the axe. Long story short, if Nintendo were to go 3rd party, let's just say the occasional complaining about constant Mario and Pokemon would be an amplified reality. Don't believe me, let's not forget most of Sega's older IP not named Sonic are basically dead and anytime they try something new it sells horribly (RIP the under appreciated gem that is Rhythm Thief.
@StraTTtheRipper In the US, Bayonetta is $6 for one system and $7 for both, while Corrin is $5 for one and $6 for both. Bayonetta's the same price as Cloud and Ryu in the US, and Corrin is halfway in between the other newcomers and the vets, so that may help you figure out EU prices if you live there since I don't know them.
I don't know about you guys, or that reviewer for the matter, but I'd expect for there to be much more info on Melee than Smash 4 (though I prefer the latter) simply because competitively speaking, the former has been played a long time whereas the latter's just over a year old.
@able_to_think We (as in the US) are among the few, assuming we're not the only ones, that label our dates mm/dd/yyyy. All of Europe (which this is an NoE trailer) and much of the rest of the world labels them dd/mm/yyyy. So for us 4/3 means April 3rd, but for them it means March 4th, so they get it the same day as us.
@JasmineDragon Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm one of those people who wants the game to come out already so I can start focusing on actually playing it rather than all this whining back and forth.
It's optional, so it doesn't really matter if it stays or not. I have moral values towards these things, but I choose to follow them by my in game decisions. For example: why is incest being in the game perfectly fine but a supposed (cause of translation) drugging scene is bad? Morally speaking, I don't like either, but I know people who do believe one, the other, or both are fine. If it stays, I can choose not to marry my in game siblings or drug Soliel if I don't want too and my main progress in any way. Actually, keeping all this stuff in and deciding who does and doesn't do it might be an interesting way to see the moralities of the fanbase. But again, as I've been saying since the female Link/Linkle debate, if it's not important enough to keep in unchanged, it's not important enough to change it either. You're allowed to have an opinion on it, but that shouldn't really affect your stance towards the game as a whole.
@RandomBlue @Nintendofan83 I mean a lot of Pokemon fans but both versions as fans, so someone want to explain why paying full price again for some small changes in Pokemon makes sense, but not half price for a full games worth of content in Fire Emblem?
I think it's cool the bundle has a substantial discount. But given there's other games I want to play this year, I'll probably focusing on picking up the main paths, which btw is also a good deal at 2 games for the price of 1.5 or 3 for the price of 2.
Fun Facts: Pikachu and Ryu will each appear in a third of this year's games with one overlap between them. And together the two will appear in more than half of them. They also have games or appearances with indirect connections to Tekken 7 (Pokken is a Tekken spin off where Pikachu copies Heihachi's moveset, and Akuma appears in Tekken 7, who's a Ryu semi clone in Street Fighter)
@AlexSora89 I know, I've played the others either on original systems or emulators, it's always bugged me, but it's never been a deal breaker. Just figured it'd be good to use a personal example.
@AlexSora89 I agree with you, the only stuff they're censoring is optional stuff that really didn't matter and you never had to see to begin with. I mean I'm not cool with the fact Corrin can marry and have kids with his/her siblings, which on one side is definitely incest and the other would be considered by many to be incest, but like the rest of this stuff before it was changed, if I don't like like it, I don't have to experience it. Plain and simple.
@SuperWiiU I have no experience with the arcade stick, but if it plugs into the Wiimote and acts as a classic controller, like with the wii fight pad, it will work for sure. If not I don't think it'll be supported but has not been officially confirmed/denied.
Before I get to what I want to say, I'm just going to say that in terms of what they did with this, I think that, mostly for the possibility that people will take this in the whole "drugged the girl" type deal, this seems like a smart approach for NoA. Now with that said: Is it too much to ask for an update on the game that's not something that will just result in either whining about the pricing or something related to relationships? Seriously that is all I seem to hear anywhere regarding this game, while there's basically nothing on the actual gameplay. I'll even gladly take a publicly spoiled ending next week if it means a break from complaining about the same two things every time the game is brought up.
@zool They announced the amiibo support last E3 when they said they would make Fox and Falco compatible. That's also why Falco's amiibo was supposed to launch with Zero on its original 11/20 date.
@sillygostly To be fair, each path is as big as Awakening, the developers outright said that cost wise it would've been practically impossible to make back the production costs if they were sold as a single $40 cart, and while they did say that they could've just done 1 cart with all 3 main paths for $80 (aka the special edition) and not have done the individual Birthright and Conquest, that higher price would've drastically hurt sales, especially for those (which I'm assuming would be most of the more casual audience) who would only want 1 version. And compared to Awakening, the side story DLC maps in Fates are overall cheaper since 11 maps in Awakening runs about $23 USD assuming the first 9 are bought in the discounted 3 packs and $24.50 if they aren't compared to $18 for 11 maps in Fates, so you save a decent chunk of change comparatively.

Re: All amiibo Will Be Compatible with Pokkén Tournament
Re: All amiibo Will Be Compatible with Pokkén Tournament
@yokokazuo Assuming the cards have nfc chips, it's likely that the shadow Mewtwo card could read like a normal Mewtwo in Smash, but that hasn't been 100% confirmed yet
Re: All amiibo Will Be Compatible with Pokkén Tournament
As long as the Pokémon amiibo have a use unique to them in some meaningful way I'm down
Re: Talking Point: My Nintendo Can Be a Tipping Point in Nintendo's Approach To User Accounts
I think if there's one thing Nintendo should do with this program, they should remind people periodically that they can redeem the benefits. I completely forgot I was part of the digital deluxe promotion until NL posted that it was about to end the day before and almost missed out on $25 bucks of eshop credit
Re: Pokémon Go Showcase Session Confirmed for GDC in March
@Gridatttack Yeah, legendaries will be available, but I think they'll only pop up when Nintendo holds events in certain areas.
Re: Pokémon Go Showcase Session Confirmed for GDC in March
@Gridatttack To answer your question about all Pokemon being available: yes and no. Yes in that throughout the real world, there will be all the Pokemon. But no in that, much like how certain Pokemon are only in certain parts of the main games, a fair chunk of Pokemon will only appear in certain parts of the world, with a few potentially available worldwide.
Re: LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Leaks Ahead Of Official Announcement
Re: Video: Chandelure Looks Predictably Weird in Pokkén Tournament Footage
Re: Talking Point: Learning Lessons From the Past Can Define Nintendo's NX Launch
Re: Nintendo Confirms Bayonetta, Corrin & Final Mii Costume DLC in Super Smash Bros. for 3rd February
Re: SmashPad Arrives on iOS and Aims to Deliver a Definitive Super Smash Bros. Resource
I don't know about you guys, or that reviewer for the matter, but I'd expect for there to be much more info on Melee than Smash 4 (though I prefer the latter) simply because competitively speaking, the former has been played a long time whereas the latter's just over a year old.
Re: Video: Nintendo's Latest Story Trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Sets the Scene
Re: Nintendo Outlines Details of DLC Map Pack One in Fire Emblem Fates
@JasmineDragon Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm one of those people who wants the game to come out already so I can start focusing on actually playing it rather than all this whining back and forth.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
At this rate all I have to say is this:
Re: Nintendo Outlines Details of DLC Map Pack One in Fire Emblem Fates
@RandomBlue @Nintendofan83 I mean a lot of Pokemon fans but both versions as fans, so someone want to explain why paying full price again for some small changes in Pokemon makes sense, but not half price for a full games worth of content in Fire Emblem?
Re: Nintendo Outlines Details of DLC Map Pack One in Fire Emblem Fates
I think it's cool the bundle has a substantial discount. But given there's other games I want to play this year, I'll probably focusing on picking up the main paths, which btw is also a good deal at 2 games for the price of 1.5 or 3 for the price of 2.
Re: The Game Lineup for EVO 2016 Has Been Announced
Fun Facts: Pikachu and Ryu will each appear in a third of this year's games with one overlap between them. And together the two will appear in more than half of them. They also have games or appearances with indirect connections to Tekken 7 (Pokken is a Tekken spin off where Pikachu copies Heihachi's moveset, and Akuma appears in Tekken 7, who's a Ryu semi clone in Street Fighter)
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@AlexSora89 I know, I've played the others either on original systems or emulators, it's always bugged me, but it's never been a deal breaker. Just figured it'd be good to use a personal example.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates Removes 'Petting' Feature in Western Localisation
@AlexSora89 I agree with you, the only stuff they're censoring is optional stuff that really didn't matter and you never had to see to begin with. I mean I'm not cool with the fact Corrin can marry and have kids with his/her siblings, which on one side is definitely incest and the other would be considered by many to be incest, but like the rest of this stuff before it was changed, if I don't like like it, I don't have to experience it. Plain and simple.
Re: Detective Pikachu Trailer is Revealed, Arrives as a Download in Japan on 3rd February
@Grumblevolcano gen 5 didn't have Pikachu period without global link or transferring from gen 4.
Re: UK Pre-Orders Open for Pokkén Tournament Pro Pad and Bundles, But It's Incompatible With Other Games
@SuperWiiU I have no experience with the arcade stick, but if it plugs into the Wiimote and acts as a classic controller, like with the wii fight pad, it will work for sure. If not I don't think it'll be supported but has not been officially confirmed/denied.
Re: The Zero Time Dilemma Watch Goes For a Metallic Style
@polarbear It was fixed in the eshop version, the retail version never got patched.
Re: Nintendo Removes Infamous Drugging Scene From Western Localisation Of Fire Emblem Fates
Re: Nintendo of America Confirms amiibo Support for Star Fox Zero, Details More Releases and Olympian Unlocks
@zool They announced the amiibo support last E3 when they said they would make Fox and Falco compatible. That's also why Falco's amiibo was supposed to launch with Zero on its original 11/20 date.
Re: Fire Emblem Fates New Nintendo 3DS XL Model Confirmed, Along With DLC Details
