Re: Video: These Fan-Made Concepts For Splatoon, Animal Crossing And Mario Kart Should Give Nintendo Pause For Thought

ASonic3582

@NintendoFan64 @Wexter Roy released in Smash about a week before the Japanese release of Fates, while I'm guessing the developers knew about it beforehand I'd say Roy didn't get supported for one or more of the following reasons:
They were unsure if Roy would get an amiibo at first

Fates was already too far in development to add him in

The amiibo released too far out to be of relavance since it was about 9 months between Fates' release in Japan and the amiibo's release

A possible design conflict between using the Awakening Roy design, the Sword of Seals original, or the Smash 4 design that incorporates elements of both

They wanted to minimize the backlash they'd get for including amiibo support (since at the time, all the FE amiibos were near impossible to find)

They're going to wait till Corrin's amiibo releases and patch support for both of them together such that hackers can't access the Corrin amiibo content before it releases

Not sure which if any of these are true, this is just my logic. I hope that last one is true and we get them patched into Fates when Corrin releases.

Re: Talking Point: 3DS Homebrew Development Causes Another Game Takedown as Nintendo Maintains Its Tight Grip

ASonic3582

@ReshiramZekrom I think this comes from the combination of the fact that those who've found the Mystery Dungeon exploit haven't been as public about it as these other ones, the involvement of The Pokemon Company and the price. But the price isn't preventing it because Nintendo wants money, more cause $40 is a lot steeper than $10-20 titles these exploits have been found on so far so people may not be willing to drop that much just to run homebrew.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo UK Hints at More Mario Kart 8 DLC

ASonic3582

@AlexSora89 Yeah, and being honest it seems like these changes don't satisfy to politically correct either. Back when Fates came out I picked up Birthright and some friends got angry calling me homophobic over that one support in Conquest. Pretty much when they see something they don't like, it's bad and done regardless of changes or context.

Re: Hong Kong Pokémon Fans Protest Over New Translation Issues with Sun and Moon

ASonic3582

@Bolt_Strike A lot of Hong Kong (and I believe other parts of China) are also concerned about names being different in the chinese version ie the Pikachu example given in @Humphries90 's comment, although I believe they just called him Pikachu in China rather than either of those more phonetically correct names. Basically they learned the names one way and this new localization changes more than 100 Pokemon's names and that's what seems to be the fan's issue.

Re: Random: Store Shelves Appear To Be Filling With Pre-Owned Copies Of Star Fox Zero

ASonic3582

Sorry if this has already been answered (don't feel like reading >300 comments), but how is this news? Pretty much every game period from Mario Kart to Uncharted and everything in between typically starts flooding the used market shelves of Gamestop and the like after about 3-4 weeks after release. Even the biggest AAA titles have this happen to them, so why would this be a big deal?

Re: Rumour: Smash Bros. Update 1.1.6 Only Seems To Impact Bayonetta

ASonic3582

@RealPoketendoNL @Vandy going off RealPoketendo's point, there were a lot of people on the internet asking for Bayonetta pre and post disc release, but knew the chances were slim since age rating stuff. And on every fan poll I checked (about 20 or so), there was only a list of a certain amount of options, like Inklings K.Rool and the like, and Bayonetta was almost never on them. Also Roy was added before the ballot

Re: Rumour: Smash Bros. Update 1.1.6 Only Seems To Impact Bayonetta

ASonic3582

@Vandy Sorry about two of the links, I put commas to separate them but that accidentally put them in the links. http://sourcegaming.info/2015/12/23/496/ http://sourcegaming.info/2015/07/09/megaman-villager-wiifit/
Also in regards to Marth and the like, Roy in Melee and Lucina in Smash 4 (along with all other clones in both games) were added simply due to the fact that they had extra development time and compared to the other fighters, a clone takes significantly less time. Roy was brought back to Smash 4 since he was the most requested cut Melee character after Mewtwo.

Re: Rumour: Smash Bros. Update 1.1.6 Only Seems To Impact Bayonetta

ASonic3582

@Vandy I'd like to refer yo to these famitsu columns translated by source gaming: http://sourcegaming.info/2015/09/26/sakurai-on-character-choices/, http://sourcegaming.info/2015/12/23/496/, http://sourcegaming.info/2015/07/09/megaman-villager-wiifit/ They explain a lot of the reasoning behind Sakurai's character decisions, including Corrin and Bayonetta. Sakurai had his own doubts about there being to many FE characters with Corrin, and also wasn't sure if Bayonetta could work while maintaining the E10+ rating (or international equivalent). And I personally believe, since there's absolutely no source that can prove or disprove the results of the official ballot, that most of the characters that people expected didn't do as well as the internet made them out to be since in a democratic process, a silent majority will always beat a vocal minority.

Re: Super Smash Bros. 1.1.6 Patch Is Landing Soon On Wii U And 3DS

ASonic3582

I kinda didn't want a patch for 2 reasons: 1. I don't want Pikachu to get nerfed and 2. I think that it's ridiculous that people are/were constantly complaining about how they want Bayonetta nerfed (and Sheik and Diddy when they were dominant) instead of just learning the matchup since now there's literally hundreds of videos showing people how to beat her various tricks. You know what people did with Fox's annoying stuff in Melee? Instead of begging for a patch (and there technically was a "patched" version of Melee in the form of the PAL version which is in fact more balanced) they learned what they could do in terms of beating him.

Re: Some Unlucky Fire Emblem Fates Customer Have Their Special Edition Pre-Orders Cancelled

ASonic3582

I figured I should ask a general question regarding the new bundle in Europe. Is the Special edition more than just buying the 3 games separately at the Europeon msrp? If it is, like the US special edition was, I don't see much of a reason to flip about the price since having all 3 games would come out to be the same again, and looks like you guys would get it all for 5 pounds less. That was the logic I took with not being able to get the SE of Fates in the US

Re: Some Unlucky Fire Emblem Fates Customer Have Their Special Edition Pre-Orders Cancelled

ASonic3582

@xVAKAR1ANx It actually doesn't take up too much space if you have a physical cart of Birthright or Conquest. The biggest download is an initial download of Birthright or Conquest w/o a cart (about 15800 blocks which is a little under 2 gb). And since the other paths mostly have different cutscenes and map layouts while reusing the engine, models, etc, it's a lot smaller downloading the other games if you already have one (Conquest and Revelation each took about 850 blocks as add ons for my physical copy of Birthright)

Re: Super Smash Bros. Community Yet to Ban Bayonetta in Spain as the Debate Shifts to Tournament Bullying

ASonic3582

I said this when the Diddy problems happened and I feel now's a good time to say it again as it still doesn't make sense to me:
Pikachu is the best in 64, people complain that he's broken, not fun to play against, calling for bans etc.

MK is the best in Brawl, people complain that he's broken not fun to play against calling for bans etc.

Bayonetta is supposedly (hasn't been out long enough to agree) the best in Smash 4, people complain that she's broken not fun to play against calling for bans etc.

Fox is the best in Melee, people seem to be fine with that.

Is it really that hard to learn 1 matchup in every game but Melee? sheesh and a lot of the biggest complainers of Bayo and the others were Melee players as well.

Re: Check Out These Japanese amiibo Dioramas

ASonic3582

I'd buy a Smash one if there was a bigger one, for like 10 or 15. I have like 30 of them and I know asking for 1 for all of them would be excessive, but if there's 1 that could display 10 or so I'd feel happy in showing off that much of my collection.

Re: Pokkén Tournament Demo Comes Out Fighting On The European Wii U eShop

ASonic3582

@rjejr There actually is a NA kiosk demo at some Wii U stations across retailers in the US, it also in part depends on the fact that certain stores of the different chains can have lazy people not update the kiosk. For example I demoed Pokken at my nearest Target yesterday while my gamestop next door had all the ads but didn't update their system.

Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament (Wii U)

ASonic3582

@MarinoKadame Well it dpends on the person how complex a fighting game is, I know Street Fighter players who find all the mechanics of competitive Smash to be overwelming as an example.
@Ryu_Niiyama @Krankor You can do LAN with either the ethernet adapter or just having both systems logged onto the same wifi network. Serebii has a pretty good guide for all of it. http://serebii.net/pokken/lanbattle.shtml

Re: Editorial: Accessibility Through Optional 'Invincibility' Buffs Can Only Be a Positive for Nintendo

ASonic3582

@Xenocity Glad to hear I'm not the only one dealing with RNG bull in Fates. I got fed up and switched to casual when playing Birthright because towards the end I would do well on chapter 24 and the exact scenario happened after the rest of my startegy worked:
I have a 99% hit chance and 45% crit rate, it misses.
CPU soldier has an 11% hit chance and a 2% crit chance, gets the crit, hits me, and my guy dies. It happened about 5 or 6 times before I just quit.

Re: Ubisoft Is Trying To Quell Beyond Good And Evil 2 NX Rumours

ASonic3582

@Spoony_Tech My easiest to find source is Nintendo's official site for Razor's edge, as Nintendo only gives games it publishes their own sites. http://ninjagaiden3.nintendo.com/ I also have a boxed copy that shows Ninty as the publisher, but I don't know how to put pictures in comments here. I had others, but I couldn't find them quick enough given I have a quick errand and their ~4 years old. And BTW, the ported versions of Razor's Edge just came day 1 with all the content added as free update dlc to the Wii U on disc.
