Update:

As expected considering the factors we highlighted below, this was indeed fake, though apparently down to a hack rather than photoshopping. Same outcome regardless of method, though the online chatter certainly shows that some were excited about the prospect.

Original Article:

With Nintendo enjoying a fair amount of success with its Legend of Zelda remakes, there's renewed speculation that the company isn't done filling gaps with ports and remasters from the franchise. This is a pretty rough rumour, however, with an image that raises a number of questions.

First of all, the claim is from David Tarakanoff, an admin of a StreetPass group in Germany that's attending a Legend of Zelda Symphony tour concert. He claims to have got a StreetPass hit from a fellow 3DS owner that's been playing The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 3D on a metallic blue New Nintendo 3DS XL system. The implication being that it'd likely be someone involved with Nintendo of Europe.

There are a number of alerts with this one, though. For one the only photo is supposedly of the screen that asks you whether you want to see more information on a game in the eShop. No image, as yet, of the Mii in question with the 'I've been playing' bubble in the greeting area; in fact, there are multiple photo opportunities to show the icon above the Mii's head. Conveniently, none of those have been posted that show the user in question.

In addition, so far there only appears to be one person at the event tweeting an image, and we imagine that more would have done so if someone was walking around and accidentally displaying this on their system.

Overall, we suspect this'll be bogus. The sheer volume of people tweeting excitedly, however, shows that it wouldn't be the least popular port ever; plenty of cheeky souls are also 'announcing' the game with some dodgy photoshopped box art, for example. Funnily enough, we even listed it in a relatively harmless feature earlier this year: Five Remastered Games We'd Love to Play on the New Nintendo 3DS / XL. Considering the scale of the game and systems it was developed for, perhaps only the New models could handle it.

We suspect this rumour is fake, however, but will happily be proven wrong. Would you like this to be true?
