Re: Pokémon Champions Has Now Surpassed 10 Million Downloads Worldwide

@samurro There's a ranked mode, so you can play against the worst of the worst! The ranks reset every season (aka yesterday), so you will definitely run into top tier players passing through for at least another week or so

If you want mindless battles, I think copying the meta teams is ironically the best way to go! I just slapped together a team of meta mons and my win rate was 70% on my first day of using it. These teams are easy to use primarily because they give you a good response to most situations.

Making a team from scratch, or using your favorites despite them sucking requires a lot more effort and results in a majority of losses, but is way more fun, IMHO.

Anyway, you should try it...you have nothing to lose!

@abnormalpirate Reading about it? My guy, it's a free game, try it for yourself! I'd give it 10/10, personally.

The internet is hellbent on 7/10 for a bunch of bizarre reasons, like the "light on content" part you mentioned. On that point, it would be like saying Pokemon Snap is a 7/10 because there aren't any multiplayer battles in it. It's just crazy people wanting single player content in a PVP-focused game that isn't marketed to be anything but that.

(Sorry about the rant)

Re: Kingdom Hearts Switch Cloud Versions Discontinued From Sale

I don't know what's worse, this comments section or Square Enix.

First of all, the cloud versions are the only way to play these games on Switch. Can you blame someone who wants to play these for buying them?

Next, Square are dirtbags for this. Don't sell a product if you're going to just steal it back. Companies like to play games like, "Erm...actually the EULA you agreed to says we're allowed to do this, and the game is not technically a product, it's a service" but at the end of the day, you are selling a lazy, garbage product to a trusting audience and stealing money with dishonest tactics.

If I ever buy a Square product again, it will be used so they don't get a cent. Grubby dirtbags.

Re: New Limited-Time Pokémon Champions Distribution Now Available

I had to uninstall this game...it's all I could think about! I ended up getting mons via buying Eternal Flower Floettes on eBay and trading for what I wanted in Pokemon Home.

The game tries to limit you on how much you can spend (good lookin' out for the kids, Nintendo), but that didn't stop me, haha.

For the record, as someone who has always wanted to get into VGC battles, I've been dreaming of this game for 13 years after trying it in XY.

The main thing I don't like is intermittently fighting AI bots online that just let me win. And I wish there were more if my favorites in the game, but it's actually causing me to branch out and discover new mons. I know all of my faves will be added over time.

Overall, the PVP experience and focus on easy team building and being able to quickly try new strategies has been insanely fun!

10/10 (for me)

@JohnnyMind I would not normally defend a game as much as this but I feel like I'm living in an upsidedown cuckoo crazy world with how people expect this game to be all these other things it clearly never was meant to be.

It takes the most inaccessible part of the game, PVP competitive battles, and makes it accessible. Literally everything else about Pokemon (catching, bonding, PVE, story) has its own separate game focusing on those things people can go play instead.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns - Official Cyrax Gameplay Trailer Revealed

@Truegamer79 DIP AWAY!

The graphics are now on-par with MK11's switch port. The load times are still 30-60 seconds depending on what you're doing (i.e. 60 seconds to load a match). This makes the Invasions mode pure agony. Also, just like MK11, the online fights can also move in slo mo depending on what stage and the connection, which will mess up combos, and nothing works if you're offline.

But for collection purposes and practice mode, I think it's in a good place.

@RubyCarbuncle They have been updating it so it looks on par with MK11's port. Played it last night and I feel it runs better since the latest patch, but I didn't test it enough. I was playing it a lot a month ago and some of the stages cause the game to run noticeably slower than the other versions to the point it really makes combos hard to perform. Loading times are 30-60 seconds for a match compared to 6-10 seconds on other platforms, which is the biggest downside IMHO. Online was easy to find matches (a month ago, at least), and the community SEEMS friendlier, so if you have no other option, I'd say it's worth looking into on-sale.

@OFFICIALMichi I'm very excited for the gender-bent characters if it means female characters that AREN'T wearing heels. Seriously, it looks so bizarre to me! Thankfully, some characters now have alternate skins that sport sneakers instead.

The leaked guest characters are soooo random, haha. As much as I dislike the superhero guest characters in my MK, they should've at least stuck to a theme, IMHO (like how MKX was horror and MK11 was 80s/90s action movies).
