Nintendo's dropped a new trailer for its LEGO Mario range, and we're now painfully aware that we've been playing with LEGO incorrectly all this time.
The new clip shows off both the Mario and Luigi figures, demonstrating how the two can be used together by friends to bop along and interact with the same courses. We assume all the dancing and walking up walls is an optional extra, or at least we hope it is, because no real human has that kind of energy, right?
You'll also spot a sudden appearance from the newly revealed Bowser's Airship – a 1,152 piece monster that was leaked by Amazon last week.
There's quite a range of LEGO Mario goodies available now, so we imagine a fair few of you are building very decent collections. Let us know if you've picked up any pieces from the range in the comments.

I love how the sets interact.
I really don’t get how to play with LEGO Mario. Do you get some sort of high score? Can you just not have Mario get hit by enemies if you don’t want to? It looks like its made to fuel roleplay.
With Lego Mario, you have to make up your own story. Nothing bad about this, but maybe not what you expected it to be.
However it could be done; if you could put Mario in a flintstone kart (open bottom) and let it go from a ramp in which the marked tiles are mixed, you can play who collected the most coins.
Bowser’s ship looks great.
@Kyloctopus the individual sets are modular so you can add/remove them to build different “levels”. The goal is to collect as many coins as possible on a run in the companion app. I love LEGO and I love Mario, but the two of them together didn’t work for me. Cool experiment though.
@Kyloctopus not that deep bro
Been really fun with a young kid. Definitely a game where it provides certain guidelines with how to play but no strict rules. Have enjoyed that and the overall build.
One game we play for a challenge is to go through the level trying to get exactly one coin, then exactly two, then three, etc.
this seems more like a music video than a Lego release trailer, but who cares, it makes us want to buy the new Lego Mario Sets.
The new sets look great, especially the Lakitu & Airship ones which will definitely be getting purchased.
I was hoping Lego Luigi would interact with his Brother, so this is great news. Can’t wait to pair them up together when my Luigi starter kit arrives on 1st August.
@Kyloctopus You just play with him like you would with legos.
You'll notice a little tiny asterisk in the trailer. Oh yeah, that's right, you can't see it. It was removed. Do you want to know what that said? It said, "Acting may be a inaccurate depiction of final product". 'Cause I'm sure we'll not dance when we play with our LEGO toys.
