Its ironic how this started as way of reviving Mega Man through a spiritual successor, only for it to fail and for Capcom to be the ones who revive Mega Man anyway.

@NintendoWife I think it also suffered from the motion plus requirement and the game looking dated for 2011 standards considering it launched around the same time as Skyrim.

I still enjoyed it. Koloktos is the best 3D Zelda boss fight imo.

For me, Skyward Sword was the swan song for the Wii

Man I wish toys like this were around when I was a kid

The game was just okay, like a 6/10 for me.

All I really wanted was something like Prime 1, but with a new setting and some new power ups.

@GFJmember their review got me excited for it because it made it seem like the only flaw was Myles pestering you every now and then.

@axelhander the difference is inspiration can lead to something new while AI is just imitating something that already exists.

I loved the gameplay in aces, but the single player content was mediocre and the online was too inactive.

I hope this one at least has an active online playerbase since this is the type of game I'd play in short bursts

@LikelySatan OoT wasn't just hyrule field with dungeons, there various areas connected to hyrule field with the dungeons hidden in them such as Lake Hylia or Death Mountain

@MrGawain problem with this argument is that the standards aren't consistent. You can play something like MK11 where you rip people's faces off, but the slightest bit of TNA is too far?

That's like not being able to swear in someone's house , but smoking and putting your feet on the coffee table is okay.

@Yoshi3 desert area doesn't bug me that much. I'm more let down by the linearity of the areas and the constant hand holding via the map markers and miles dialogue.

As a big Mega Man fan im really happy for this, but damn I can't believe it will already have been almost a decade since 11 when it finally launches

About an hour in and it's my favorite Switch 2 game so far.

@Metazoxan it's an amazing game, but Mario Kart wins by having larger casual appeal and brand recognition.

The game is perfect as is, we really don't need a soulless HD2D remake or some shiny funco pop 3D version

It's a great game, but I didn't expect it to have mass appeal. The original only sold like a million.

Kirby was always a low seller for Nintendo with the exception of Forgotten Land.

@8bit-Man it's still technically part of the timeline even if it's just a small story in between Metroid 2 and Super.

I was judging it on a gameplay perspective as it's still a Metroidvania starring Samus. I use spinoff as something that's completely different in gameplay or even genres but spawned from an existing universe, something like the Mario sports games or the Wario and Donkey Kong platformers.

Im fine with NPCs being fodder to set the survival and isolation tone of the series

If not, I hope they're not around too much. Metroid works much better with its minimal approach to narrative.

@OmnitronVariant it's part of the mainline series, being 3D doesn't make it a spinoff.

You might as well call Ocarina Of Time a spinoff with that logic.

This game felt like such a letdown after how great Superstar Saga was. Thankfully we got Bowsers Inside Story after.

Metroid is about exploring an interconnected world while Doom is about shooting your way through disconnected stages.

Probably a 7 or an 8 so far.

I didn't like it much at first since I also didn't really like the last one. I basically went in expecting a Mario Kart clone just to find something way different.

Once I started getting the hang of it, it really grew on me. I've just been having fun playing online mostly, especially city trial.

Sad so many degens expose themselves on a kids game

Dragon Quest is pretty good when it comes to consistent quality. Only one I'd rank low is part 2 with its insane difficulty, and even then it's not a bad game on its own, it just hasn't aged as good as the sequels.

Chrono Trigger is timeless, you can easily just port it as is. The DS version was proof of this.

Superstars was a solid 6/10. Really baffling how a sequel to Mania was handled so poorly when the idea practically sells itself.

@Tryffel best part of the whole game was the jungle level. That was the closest it felt to Mania.

@metaphysician even if some of the criticisms are legit, it's a huge stretch to call Nintendo the big evil of the industry.

@Jedrus_Lilac that perception of them being the bad guys is very overestimated. Just look at Mario Galaxy 1+2 topping Amazon charts after countless videos on YouTube attacked Nintendo for re releasing Wii ports for full price, or most recently the success of Pokemon.

Most people who play Nintendo just don't know or care about these situations to affect what they purchase.

@Dr_Corndog yeah like it's one thing if they go after a non profit fan game, but people pirating their current stuff while taunting them are just asking for it.

Easily my favorite of the trilogy. It's simplicity at its best, and it's the most pick up and play.

The sequels were good, but I felt they added a bit much to an already perfect formula. All I really wanted was a bigger mansion with the same structure and gameplay.

@iLikeUrAttitude they weren't patenting the monster taming genre, this is sensationalism pushed by the Nintendo hate grifters.

They just want to target Pal World exclusively for lazily copying Pokemon designs even going as far as using models like Mewtwo Y.

It's always odd to me how some people try to frame exclusives as some anti consumer practice when it always added more value to a console.

I don't see why I'd buy a PS5 or Xbox when their libraries are so homogeneous, I can easily get most or all of their games on PC. With Nintendo, I'm guaranteed a strong lineup of first party games.

I personally never thought Mega Man 2 was the best, mainly because of how brokenly easy it is thanks to the metal blade practically having infinite ammo as well as being good against like half the robot masters. The soundtrack along with 3 is probably the best though.

I always thought 4, 5, and 6 were the best with how much they perfected and iterated on the formula. I was actually let down when 9 and 10 went back to being like 2 by removing the charge and slide, because I liked when each sequel kept adding on top of the last game.

@harrystein surprised at your take on 4. I always considered that the point in the series where the formula was fully defined.
