Reggie Fils-Aimé will soon be releasing his own book - Disrupting the Game: From the Bronx to the Top of Nintendo - which will take readers through his journey in advertising to becoming the CEO of Nintendo of America, all the while providing unique lessons to help readers springboard their own success.
Now, it's been revealed that Reggie himself will be providing the narration for the HarperCollins audiobook, as confirmed by IGN.
The big man had this to say to IGN regarding the announcement:
"When I set out to write [Disrupting the Game], I wanted it to read as if I had written you a detailed letter with key stories and insights that inspire you to pursue your own journey. Narrating the audiobook reinforced that I achieved my objective – the book truly is my own story, in my own voice. There are no self-congratulatory segments. Failures are unvarnished. I wanted the book to be authentic… hopefully, inspiring. Reading the book aloud brought a smile to my face."
HarperCollins recently unveiled the final cover for the book while providing a release date of May 3rd (the book will release in the UK on June 9th - who needs E3, eh?), so there's not much longer to wait if you're itching to have Reggie cooing words of wisdom in your ears.

The obvious choice was Charles Martinet in full Mario voice!
"From Bronx to the top of Nintendo"
Not quite Reggie!!
@dew12333 true i remamber him at a video call with late Mr. Iwata. It was clear who the top dog was
Sounds, literally, even better now
I am in no position to draw any reliable conclusions, and I've got nothing against the Regginator at all, but I remain to be convinced about how influential he was in Nintendo's 2000s' successes. Looking forward to feedback about his book.
Spoiler alert… It’s all about who you know. That’s not to suggest growing your network and meeting the “right” people is easy.
@gcunit He’s not Japanese, his influence was limited. Read the glassdoor reviews for Nintendo and you’ll see what I nean.
“Familiar” is an understatement.
Running a business and doing executive/managerial type work does not interest me in the slightest so Reggie's tips for success may not be all that exciting for me. A book chronicling his journey to NoA president does sound pretty cool, though, maybe I'll keep my eye out for this one.
I respect him & enjoyed him as the CEO on NoA, but he's no Iwata. I think this book is more geared towards those looking to further their career; to have a body ready for the top of the corporate ladder (cue push-ups, Nintendo 62, Nintendo 63, Nintendo 64!)
I already wishlisted the audiobook on Audible. It'll be interesting to hear what he has to say.
I've a digital copy preordered, I'll be travelling for work when this drops so it'll be a nice read on the flights home.
I would hope at least a large chapter in the book talks about he dealt with the adversity of what I believe where 2 Notable demotions and how he was basically just a powerless mouthpiece in the US for his bosses in Japan. If he glosses over that the book has no value.
2016 the big corporate shake-up, probably due to Wii U issues.

Steven Pacey reading Joe Abercrombie’s First Law series. One of the best audiobook narrators, if not THE best. Can’t recommend him and the series enough.
I still don’t see this man’s appeal. Everything he says is so corporate. Maybe this book will actually show me something more human. I get his position and I don’t think he should be disliked. I just don’t get the amount of adulation he receives.
Removed - unconstructive feedback
Aww, I was hoping it would be narrated by Darkest Dungeon's Wayne June.
