Well, here's something we weren't expecting...at all! The new Hogwarts Legacy game inspired by the famous Harry Potter book and movie series is apparently coming to the Nintendo Switch.
After a lengthy video earlier today during Sony's State of Play PS5 showcase, the official game website is now listing a Nintendo Switch version. You can see the Switch logo at the bottom of the website and if that wasn't already enough, the FAQ mentions Switch as one of the platforms.
Q: What platforms will Hogwarts Legacy be on? A: Hogwarts Legacy will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Amazon has also uploaded the game box art (below), which seems to rule out this being a cloud release. If so, Warner Bros., Avalanche and Portkey Games have certainly worked their magic to get this next-gen title up and running on Switch.
Hogwarts Legacy launches holiday 2022. We'll let you know if we hear anything else...

This message has been updated from a previous version to make clearer Nintendo Life's stance on the topic:
Hogwarts Legacy does not exist in a vacuum. There are important discussions being had about the views and opinions held by the creator of the Harry Potter universe – views and opinions which we do not agree with.
Our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for people – all people – to discuss and celebrate video games, not to amplify ignorance or provide a forum for unconstructive arguments. As per our community rules, we do not accept any form of hate speech on our platform.
I hear Robbie Coltrane's voice in the tagline.
Holy crap! I guess I am double dipping as my daughter wanted to play it handheld as to not ruin the story for other people in the house. I was going to stream it to my phone!
What!??? No way. I saw that trailer. No way that's running on the Switch. Looks cool, though.
Yeah, unless the trailer was just all cinematics, and not actual gameplay, then this here isn't a possibility. I could buy a cloud version being a thing or something, but a physical copy of the game that you can buy at a retail store, when the game doesn't even seem like it'd be able to run on a switch? No chance this isn't just a mistake listing.
Maybe I'll buy it on switch if it has cross-save with the next-gen console, as long as it's not cloud version.
@VoidofLight Oh, crap. That's how it's coming to the switch. I bet it will be cloud. Eww.
Interesting to see how it runs. The other versions show that it's gonna be a pretty complex game.
@VoidofLight @WoomyNNYes The boxart looks legit... at least for me. If it was a cloud version, no Switch boxart would be shown on amazon.

@Zebetite You just admitted your comment wasn't going to be about Rowling yet you go and say that sentence. Basically contradicting the point. Not like people who are actually interested in the game would be concerned about Rowling's involvement (or lack thereof)
@Zebetite yup I would appreciate if we could avoid that entire topic this time
@ everybody, pls.
@Savage_Joe Yeah. My bets are that this'll end up being a heavily downgraded version of the game then. Something akin to how DS versions of games are made.
@VoidofLight yeah. If it ends up like the witcher 3, then it will be fine. But knowing WB's track record, it would probably be a product of the dark arts
@VoidofLight Hellblade is an example of a game that didn't look "able to run on a Switch", but here we are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMpgeTJYOkw&ab_channel=HandheldPlayers
Of course graphics would be heavily compromised, but it can be ported as successfully as other games like Doom Eternal, Hellblade or even a not so good port like The Witcher 3.
Might double or triple dip on this, if it turns out good its something I want on all consoles I own

@Eel I’m sure that carpet really appreciates your sweeping.
As long as it's not cloud or shovelware then I may check it out. I did like a few aspects of Harry Potter and some of its ripoffs.
Gonna take actual magic to have it run well on Switch.
How in the world is this going to run? I just can't see it, tho I would love love love, to me proven wrong!
Because this game just looks, MM, I don't really have words.
@VoidofLight I really don't know how this will run, but I will indeed triple dip if it does.
@Eel I had no intention of talking about the subject as it completely slipped my mind anyway. That said I can understand people not being happy with her even if what she said doesn't bother me that much personally.
Normally I wouldn't believe it, but games like Doom and The Witcher give me hope that they can pull it off, especially not being a cloud version.
@Zebetite
So what was the point of this comment. You say you don’t want to go on a rant but then go on one?
unless I can magically beam away wizard dumps, it's a bit pointless
@blindsquarel one sentence is a rant?
@Zebetite i think making about rowling is the problem. I wasnt even thinking about her, i was thinking about the new harry potter game! Obviously, we should be vocal about issues. But making something like this about her just gives her another platform to be relevant on. We win when she loses all relevancy, but to do that we gotta let the flame die out to an extent. And killing her work just isnt feasible, because HP is an IP giant. Its all about those angles you look at a problem from!
@somebread its just kind of a contradiction. Also the intent didnt seem to educate, but to create argument. just kinda a little suspicious (getoutofmyheadgetoutofmyheadgetoutofmyhead) in nature. But i sincerely doubt it was meant to be that way, I can hear it in the way i said previously or from the perspective of a person tired with the world's problems, which I can 100% understand. It seems everybody is valid in one way or another here!
@nowthisisepic she's an amazing author and I like her success story, still missing a few of the films to watch but will get to it eventually. Might actually just buy the books since I do enjoy reading.
This wasn’t on my radar until now.
What is this game actually like? Like has it released? Is it decent? Speaking of licensed games, I am hyped for the Gollum game.
@BongoBongo123 The game releases in Holiday of this year, so we don't know how it'll pan out yet.
Sweet! One more reason not to get a PS5, haha. (Though I still want one for Sackboy, Astro's Playroom, Psychonauts, It Takes Two...hoo boy. Why did Sony have to start embracing colorful platformers again? They're my Achilles' heel.)
I haven't watched the presentation though, so I'm not sure what to make of the game yet. I like the Harry Potter movies, and while the concept of putting myself in the game and getting sorted into one of the houses is neat, I would rather be playing as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I hope characters like Dumbledore, Hagrid, Snape, and Voldemort have a prominent role, though. If it's just the Hogwarts setting with no recognizable characters, I'll be pretty disappointed. I'm scared I'll watch the presentation and that will be the case.
With a graphics downgrade, it could work on the switch, from what I can see from the trailer. We won’t know for sure until we see a second and third trailer.
Unless it's a cloud version it isn't 😂
Removed - off-topic
Sounds like an awesome concept and I’ll definitely keep an eye out.
I also need to reread the books as well as reading the last two books (and watch their respective films) as I read The Order of the Phoenix way back in the day (about 15 or so years ago), and so I could definitely use a refresh.
Recent publicity has put me off quite a few of the film’s cast though, which is a pity. Clueless silver-spooned “celebrities” ought to be seen and not heard.
I can't quite put my finger on it, but this does not look like what I'd want from a game in that world.
With the box art thing they could just be planning on selling a code to the cloud version in a case they do it with digital games
This is a real shock but it makes some sense the engine has to be real flexible to allow for cross gen and platform and it was originally being developed back before even the ps4pro came out. Glad to actually get a big third party release for once
@Would_you_kindly it would have that on the box art. All cloud releases clearly say its cloud and i dont think any of the cloud games have a box code version at all
Removed - off-topic
@Not_Soos itll definitely not have any of those characters in it. It takes place like over a 100 years or more Before even the prequel movies do. I find this interesting and freeing really allowing them to really stretch the setting and explore the mythology and tell an original story.
@Williamfuchs420 Dang, I figured that'd be the case. So it's Harry Potter in name only, essentially, with the titular character not even being referenced. I understand the appeal of the world building for some, but that doesn't sound like my cup of tea. Especially if it's 100 years in the past. Was at least hoping Harry and the gang would be mentioned in the dialogue, and some familiar faces like Hagrid might still be around even if the kids were long graduated. I'll still check out the showcase later though and see how I feel. I'm still interested enough that I might consider getting it, but that took away like 80% of the appeal for me, lol.
Removed - flaming/arguing
@Not_Soos Massive applause mate. You nailed the point of why I personally have a severe distaste for that kind of talk. It's a reductionism of the human, as well as a dehumanization of that which does not fit into that reductionism.
For every cloud….
If this turns out to be cloud version, then we riot.
I have to admit I haven't watched an entire Harry Potter film. I'm just not into it.
Sorry i am switch guy but there is no way current switch can handle this game. This must be a cloud version.
I couldn't care less for the Rowling's "controversy" and I will be buying the game.
I saw the gameplay reveal yesterday and its really not that graphically impressive. Not what you would consider next-gen impressive.
So I can see this run on the Nintendo Switch. No problem.
It probably comes down to the cartridge size again, where you probably have to download the majority of the game on SD card.
I am looking forward to returning to JK Rowling’s world! Hopefully not at 10fps.
If I get anywhere close to buying this, because this does look like everything i wanted as a child, then i'll make sure to make a donation to trans charity.
@VoidofLight It's gameplay alright. Just... on a PS5 and not a switch. It may be cloud, or it may not. I think it's likely that it will be like all those other games where the graphics and everything our downgraded to run on switch. On the other hand, it could be a mistake, but I think that's unlikely
Good news! Now let's see if the Switch is actually able to move it XD, maybe with some extra help from Punic Button or Saber...
Yeah, this is going to be a cloud version. Or a massively stripped version.
Buying big current gen multiplatform games on Switch is a waste.
(and people, PS5 and XBOX Series are current gen now )
@sanderev Came here to say the same. I know it is hard to find a PS5 or a XSX, but they are current gen, not next gen.
Will be interesting to see if this actually manages to run on the Switch or if it will end up a cloud version.
Would be amazing if it did come to the switch but I can’t see it myself as it looked amazing.
@Madao I got lucky with an early pre-order for the Series X. But I haven't been lucky trying to get a PS5 yet.
GAMEPLAY?? ANYWHERE??
It'll most likely be a cloud version like KH and Guardians Of The Galaxy
I am very worried about what concessions would have to be made to get this on Switch because it looks great visually on PS5, and that's probably where I will be getting it.
I would be absolutely shocked if it isn't a cloud version but to be fair WB did figure out how to put MK11 on Switch so at the very least the publisher has had enough interest to invest in a proper Switch port in the past. I'll definitely be playing this on the PS5 though.
I would think that one of the portmasters (ie. Panic Button, Saber) pitched to do a port of this game if it is indeed coming to the platform as a non-cloud game. Interesting to see how this turns out as this game looks like a next-gen focused release.
HOW?
No, seriously, HOW!?!?!?!
I was watching the State of Play showcasing this thing last night and it genuinely looked like the most advanced, next gen, multi-layered experience possible. How on God's green earth did they manage to fit it on a bloody Switch!?
@Not_Soos a superb comment, excellent stuff, wish I was as good with words like that. 100% agree x
It just occurred to me that this probably won’t be complete on cartridge, but I’ll likely bite on day one if it is!
I'm genuinely curious to see how well (if at all) this runs natively on Switch - the graphics in that Direct were pretty impressive, I would imagine it's almost certainly running off a high-end PC, or at the very least PS5/XSX
Never got into Harry Potter. Not the biggest fan of Rowling, either. However, this appears to be native and if that really is the case you have to wonder how they could do it and other publishers "can't make the game work." Then again, at least 40% of the time that's just internet speculation...
@Fizza Probably a cloud version
@WoomyNNYes It might be running on cloud
Zombies... Whut? If I get this game and get to name my character, my first thought now is Patty Horror.
Not sure why it's called a "next-gen title" (we're at least a year or two away from next gen), but I certainly welcome the announcement, provided they're not just planning to cloud it. Then again, most publishers doing that are at least transparent about it from the start (or, in GotG's case, almost from the start).
@Fizza One word. Cloud.
The art style seems somewhat adaptable. Hoping Switch owners get a decent 30fps version, though I'll be playing on another platform if the game turns out good.
I wish instead of lazy Cloud versions or the hardworking scaled down ports, the Switch would get retro style demakes of these games. It'd be great to have the full blown version on a home console and a 16-bit or PS1 era style version of this game for Switch. That would be a better way to get people to double dip rather than straining to deliver the same experience they could get on any other platform.
@VoidofLight doesn't have to be fake, the beginning of the presentation it says footage is from gameplay on PS5 dev kit. So it's all real but they only showed PS5 footage
Right from their site!!!
Q: Does Hogwarts Legacy have online or co-op gameplay?
A: Hogwarts Legacy is a single player experience and does not have online or co-op gameplay.
Q: Are there in-game purchases or micro-transactions in Hogwarts Legacy?
A: Hogwarts Legacy does not have in-game purchases or micro-transactions.

I can't imagine a Switch version would be worth playing. It looks to be a particularly complex game.
I'm surprised it even got PS4 and Xbox One versions. Hopefully it won't run like Cyberpunk on those.
I mean, it IS the best selling current platform on the market. It's silly that there are not more multiplatform games on the Switch. Sure you'd have to scale back most games to run them on the Switch, but mainly Switch owners obviously don't care that much... WE MAINLY PLAY ON THE SWITCH. Also, the Switch games are comparable to late Xbox 360/PS3 games, and better. So games from that era should be fine. It baffles me that Deus Ex, Tomb Raider, FF13, Watchdogs, Dark Souls Trilogy, KH Collection (natively), GTAV, and many more games aren't on the Switch, as if it can't run them at all. Newer game would have to have compromises, sure, but it's not impossible. Also, making games on the Switch is probably the least expensive. Just make it good, playable, and make sure it runs well.
This is a different logo for Avalanche than the one appearing on all the other boxes.
AND one that doesn't appear anywhere on their website, or in their press material.
Which all makes me a little bit sceptical.
It's either gonna look and run like molasses or be cloud- based with plenty of wonderful lag. Can't wait for this game, but PS5 or Xbox is definitely the way to go for the sake of both a stable frame rate and somewhat decent resolution. That poor little Tegra X1 is really putting in some serious work with these giant ports ... :/
I'm definitely intrigued - I love the Potterverse, some missteps nonwithstanding - but I'm gonna have to wait for the general verdict from the gaming community before buying. As long as it's native on the Switch and isn't a complete mess, I'm on board.
Wow. That's legit!
And hey, if it's too compromised, I'll just play it on Steam Deck. But it they actually manage to get this game in a decent state, I'll gladly play on Switch.
If I get the game, I’m getting it on PC anyways, but if it runs well on switch my brother might get it
@eaglebob345 yeah I don’t quite understand how PS3/360 era games aren’t running natively on the Switch. The only thing I can think is the cartridge space which for some games they do additional downloads. Though that’s a whole other can of worms.
@Xiovanni well if it runs well enough on Xbox One and PS4, then maybe the Switch wouldn't be impossible
@VoidofLight Hard to say if it's retail or cloud, but it's confirmed for Swith nevertheless! If Doom Eternal can run on Switch then this should too. I just wonder who/if will port the game.
@Not_Soos Except it’s not Harry Potter in name, it’s Hogwarts Legacy in name.
Anyway I’m not into this series but my wife is. She plays some games but prefers to watch me play the big ones so she can dig the story and help with the decision making. Think this might be the one to get her onto the PS5, unless her laptop can run it.
Hope this turns out good. Looking forward to this game and the Gollum game.
@Medic_Alert Game collections seem to be selling enough for companies like Ubisoft to keep doing them. No one wants to pay $40+ (or equivalent) to play one 10 year old game, when it is availble on other consoles for much cheaper. Nintendo games are basically the only exception because they aren't really available anywhere else.
After watching playstations state of play I can guarantee that the switch version is Cloud only.
If you have a playstation or xbox then I'd definitely recommend getting it on that instead.
hopefully its not cloud version or its a pass for me.
They'll likely scale it down like Mortal Kombat, which is extremely playable. Looking forward to it!
@Octane_st1m I could definitely see this. Avalanche (in its previous incarnation) worked with Panic Button on the Disney Infinity games, so there'd potentially be a ready-made relationship there already.
What kind of Cloud? A nimbus?
@Not_Soos Yeah the only recognizable characters are some of those mentioned in Professor Binns history class (in the book) Possibly some magical creatures (such as house-elves)
And the ghosts of hogwarts
I'd also have kind of rather had more characters I knew but it does look pretty freaking awesome regardless
Also amazing comment about the whole Rowling thing, that's exactly how I feel about it, loveeeeeeee the Harry Potter series but don't support JK obviously, I've already had people telling me I shouldn't buy the game though, ugh
@Deady Whoopsie--shows you how little I've been following the game up till now, lol. That at least makes it a little more understandable, but I still wish it were a proper "Harry Potter" game.

I’ve never hear of this project, but the ability to live in Rowling’s world firsthand sounds pretty darn cool.
Removed - off-topic
@UltimateOtaku91 but this game is also coming out on Xbox One and PS4. That was PS5 footage I think.
So let’s wait and see how the Xbox one and PS4 versions turn out. Maybe it will be cloud on Switch or maybe it won’t
Also the article is wrong. Hogwarts Legacy isn’t a next gen game.
Be interesting to see more gameplay.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a cloud version but I will be a bit more surprised if this is a native version
@Not_Soos limiting it to just Harry Potter and his time period really hampers the creativity of the story in my opinion. It really ties the game to the events already written. Now having it be a Prequel also kinda dose this but to a more limited extent
Can we just learn to separate the art from the artist please?
Oof... another Legacy edition of a game? Pass...
This looks amazing. As a huge fan of the books and movies, I honestly can't wait to jump back into the lore of it all. The game looks amazing. Depending on the graphics, I may buy this for my collection but double dip, and purchase the PS copy to play. =). Fantastic news overall!

Hello all. In case you missed it, we have pinned a comment at the start of the thread kindly requesting that conversation stays on the topic of the game itself rather than the wider issues and controversy surrounding the author of the Harry Potter novels.
We understand that, for some, the two are inextricably linked but — as we outline in the pinned comment — we feel that this article is not the appropriate place for that wider conversation. Please focus discussion here on the game itself.
I grew up with Harry Potter, and I can't believe how much this game looks just like what I always wanted in a game!! Create your own wizard, explore the halls and mysteries of Hogwarts, personalize your own playstyle with a custom assortment of spells and items, and discover various secrets of the wizarding world!
As others have stated, one teeny weeny disappointment is the lack of nostalgic characters to interact with, like Mcgonagall, Snape, Hagrid, Lupin, Dumbledore, even Scalamander, and the list goes on and on.
However, I understand this was a necessary step in order to achieve the developers' goal, which was to recreate the sense of wonder that we all felt the first time watching the movies and reading the books, discovering new professors, new characters and new stories for the first time.
Speaking of, the biggest test this game has to pass is whether this goblin rebellion storyline holds water, since they are blazing entirely new trails in barely mentioned time periods in the lore.
It's gonna be a 16 bit version of the game powered with the SNES Star Fox engine fpr visuals right?
@dartmonkey that’s a fancy new thing, I like it!
———
About the game: some people began saying cloud version and now that feels like a scary plausibility.

@dartmonkey I understand this is your platform, so you reserve the right to censor any posts you like. Ironically, I think a government entity enforcing free speech on privately owned company servers would be a violation of democracy in and of itself. That said, while I don't claim to be Ghandi or something, I think my comments had some valuable insights into human nature, and I'm disappointed to see them get deleted. Since the discussion was being kept civil, I strongly implore you to reconsider your decision, but I will respect it nonetheless. Thanks.
I understand the game being set in the 19th century. The technology in the world won't be affected and you stay out of the Grindewold and Vomdermort stories. Plus probably avoiding a lot of image rights issues.
I also can understand how it will run. The game is meant to be playable on the PS4 so it is not a true next gen game so it will probably be a slightly reduced version of that.
Unless they indeed go for the cloud but then if so why show the box art.
@Not_Soos I take your point and it was heartening to see the conversation remaining civil for the most part. Unfortunately, that is often not the case and seeing that this is a big game that we'll be covering again in the future, we feel it's important to establish some ground rules from the off and not have every article on the game descend into the same debate. The last thing we want to do is close comments on all related articles.

Hopeful Wizard: "Hello fellow wizards, the muggles seem to by dying from the Bubonic Plague for several decades now, maybe we should make an exception to use our magic to help humanity recover?"
The rest of the Wizarding world: "We're too busy figuring out a spell to make our poop disappear, maybe later."
Ever since I played the game Bully, I've wanted a Harry Potter version of this game. I probably wont play this on Switch, but I look forward to it, despite my views on the series creator.
@Cyberbotv2 the krypt mode in mortal Kombat on switch looks & runs like crap & this game looks alot more demanding than that
@dartmonkey Understood. You may or may not have also seen my off-topic comment that was removed today in another article where I expressed my disappointment that comments were disabled in the article about the Ukranian developers still trying to launch their game in schedule. I think we're all pretty well on the same page about the Russian invasion, and I think the developers deserve to see our support through this very challenging time. I really don't think you're gonna have people arguing over that one. Again though, that's at your discretion, but I think it would be a very good thing.
I will be picking this up for sure! Love a lot of the Harry Potter games.
This could work. The Wii ports of the old Harry Potter games were alright. Most people say it had the best version of Order of the Phoenix.
@Astral-Grain
No worries, bud. I'm not offended in the least. I didn't take it personally or anything, and like I said, I respect their right to do so. I don't want to say too much and get another comment deleted again, but I will say that I've seen nothing but unwavering support for Ukraine--even among Republican circles. Perhaps it's more divisive than I'm giving it credit for, but from my perspective, I've seen very little discourse about it.
I'm actually glad you tagged me in a reply, as I don't think I ever got around to responding when you asked why I felt the need to say I "can't stand" ASMR in another article a while back. I guess it was a bit of a social experiment to see how people would respond. You were upset by it--as I figured someone would be--but it gave me the opportunity to express from my personal experience why "toxic positivity" can be as damaging to one's mental health as negativity. So, I knew I was stirring the pot, and though I don't like to cause beef (that's two unintentional stew metaphors in one sentence), I thought it would be a worthwhile learning experience.
I think you and I both gained a little insight from it and maybe let go of some pre-conceived notions; you probably thought I sounded like a jerk from my initial comment, and I thought similarly from your sarcastic reply, haha. But now, I quite like you--I think you're a pretty cool dude! I don't know if you had a chance to see my comment before it got deleted, but that's a lot of what I was talking about in it--how censorship, cancel culture, etc. causes people to keep their feelings bottled up when they cannot freely express their viewpoints. This, I think, leads to a lot of animosity and misunderstandings; if we hadn't talked things out, we'd both still be harboring negative perceptions of each other. So to me, open and honest discussion about sensitive and polarizing subjects is like growing pains--uncomfortable, but ultimately a necessary part of life that is incredibly worthwhile.
(Plz, for the love of Iwata in heaven, Nintendo Life, don't delete this one, I'm begging you.)
@Astral-Grain
To clarify, there was nothing false about the comment--I really can't stand ASMR lol, but whereas in times past I would have not said anything to avoid confrontation, I decided to post it anyways to see the reaction it would get and respond accordingly. That way I might hopefully change someone's perception about it and get them to look at it from a fresh perspective.
My intent definitely wasn't to be deceptive and I didn't lie to you, but I knew what I was getting myself into and I take accountability for any drama that may have resulted from it. But my intentions were good as I was hoping to quell future dramas. Like when the next Paper Mario game is revealed, I'd love for people to be able to openly love it or hate it without fear of scrutiny and personal attacks on their character. Hope that makes it a little better; I can assure you I was not trying to use you--I just wanted to get people talking about it and leave them with something to chew on, while also maybe understanding your side a little better as well.
Perhaps this is yet another misunderstanding of ours, lol. I apologize if you still feel disrespected, but my aim was not to mislead. I appreciate you still maintaining your courtesy even if you were upset at me over this, but hopefully now that I've explained it a little better, you won't be anymore.
@Astral-Grain
After reflecting a bit more on it, I'd like to add that perhaps "social experiment" was a poor choice of words, as it suggests I was treating anyone who engaged with the post as a guinea pig. I can assure you I wasn't looking down on you on anyone else as a mere test subject or anything. I just wanted to gain a better understanding on human nature and apply that knowledge moving forward to help tailor the way I phrase my discussions. Hope that makes sense, and please see my above reply that further explains things if you haven't already.
Despite typing very lengthy paragraphs, it seems I still failed to sufficiently get my point across. It just goes to show how easy it is to miscommunicate online. I think this is why Twitter has such a negative perception as being a toxic platform. If I can't prevent a misunderstanding in multiple paragraphs, it's exponentially harder to make a compelling argument that won't be misconstrued in 250 characters or less. Human interaction is hard, man, lol. I'm on the fool's errand to try to make sense of it all like it's a mathematical equation or something. Anyways, sorry again.
@Not_Soos Thank you for sharing your views, they show aspects of yourself I was not previously aware of and I've had a change of heart because of them.
I think it's only fair to tell you I will be blocking you now. I've learned a lot engaging with you and I don't need repeated lessons to keep this knowledge in mind moving forward.
I also realize my previous comments to you are off-topic as this is supposed to be about a Harry Potter game, and since you've already read them and absorbed them, I see no reason for them to stay in here and clutter the comments for others.
I really don't have anything else to say to you that would be constructive, so I will leave it at that.
@Astral-Grain Well, that's ultimately your prerogative, though I'm a bit confused why you've decided to block me. I'm sorry if you are offended at me. I hope I didn't come across as preachy, as this is stuff I'm learning how to apply for myself more than anybody else. I don't want to sound like I'm putting anyone else down or anything.
@Astral-Grain I dunno whether I'm blocked yet or not, but the last thing I'll say is that I had forgotten how candid I was with my mental health experience in those ASMR comments. That was also very much real and not fabricated, and I promise I wouldn't lie about my personal struggles to teach a lesson about judging a book by its cover or something. That'd just be incredibly gross and insensitive. If that's what you thought, then I'd understand why you'd feel manipulated and want to block me, but I promise that wasn't the case. Nothing I said in that thread was disingenuous or used to garner fake sympathy.
If I am blocked, if someone wants to forward this message to him, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks in advance.

@Olmectron I just finished the Switch version of Dying Light and it ran just as beautifully as the PS4 version.
@Jeronan I talked to the people on discord server of hogwarts legacy today and they said its coming to switch apparently as well
@Zuljaras Finally a sane person. Thank you.
Getting this to work on the Switch would be akin to magic.
That said, I love J. K. Rowling and the Potterverse and can't wait for this game to release!
Superb news, absolutely love the look of this.

It's weird, I'm not really aware of this game but the marketing I've seen so far seemed to suggest it was a PS5 exclusive...legit surprised to see it's coming to Xbox and PC, also Switch I suppose but I imagine it'll be crippled
If this was a cloud version they would have said so from the start and that would also mean that this Switch box is fake, because cloud games never have a retail version.
eh? what? Hogwash
Ehh... would still get it on PS5 just to be safe. Typically only trust Nintendo and actual exclusives to run "best" on Switch. Cool that they're bringing it to the platform though.
Awesome for the Harry Potter franchise to finally get a great looking game. Based JKR confirmed.
It this really does run on the Switch, we can safely assume the developers are only pretending to be muggles.
You can be a BETTER wizard in Elden Ring, just saying!
NINJA APPROVED
The trailer doesn't tell me much about the game. What do you do? Fight monsters? Look at Hogwarts?
There are a lot of HP games apparently and I don't know any of them, but what would interesting is to have a game less action-based and more about exploration and discovery. Learning magic and lore, solving mysteries and puzzles. I feel like that's the appeal of the books. (and the characters, but they're not in this game so...) The main selling point here seems to be fighting monsters.
It doesn't seem to capture the spirit of the books in any way, which is fair because that spirit has been dead for years.
@Pod I was thinking the same thing too, but it the logo that shows up in official state of play video on the official Playstation youtube. So they could be in process of logo changes.
Am I.... Am I allowed to play? Am I allowed to use a non-legal name or will they ask for documentation?
Nah, game looks kinda lit and we shouldn't punish programmers and artists who need their jobs just because they were assigned a licensed property.
@Not_Soos Isn't Psychonauts an Xbox/PC exclusive? Could be wrong idk.
EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I was wrong!
"As such, while we respect many of you will have your own opinions about the views and values of some of the creatives involved with the Harry Potter universe, we’d kindly ask you to focus your discussion on Hogwarts Legacy and not the wider issues at play here."
Am I missing something here? Other than the obvious magic is bad religions thing?
Sorry if this goes against rules. Interested in the game yes but your comment brought this up
Well 105 million switches sold and a good few
To the younger generation and Hogwarts fans.
Down scale it make it work well on the Switch and you have lots of more sales, no brainer.
Skyrim, The Witcher 3 and the outer worlds prove this can run on switch without cloud versions with some major tweaking. Also, This is a Harry Potter game. The past harry potter games have all been on Nintendo consoles as well and with switch having sold so well there is no way they are going to skip it. I doubt it's a cloud game. They probably have tuned it to run on the console by doing some major cuts to the graphics and frame rate. Interesting to see how it will run. Guess we will find out.
If it was a cloud version I feel like the case would literally say "internet required" and it doesn't.
@Dezzy70 not to mention so many here grew up on the Harry Potter games with past Nintendo consoles.
@cammers1995
That’s is true, if the Switch version is of good quality it could be the become the best selling third party game, then maybe not the new Lego Star Wars skywalker saga is out 5th of April 2022 and will sell very well on Switch.
I’ll be picking it up for sure. My wife and I are HUGE Harry Potter fans.
@Floki
I guess now would be the time, right before releasing something as big as this.

@Tobiaku Thank you.
Woah, cool! I didnt think we'd see this game on Switch at all! But if they can hack it, I'm probably going to pick it up. I'm not even a fan of Harry Potter, but the game and world within that trailer looked intriguing in so many ways!
So yeah, they have my attention.
Hogwarts Legacy joining the Witcher 3 e Doom Eternal, as Switch most impressive ports?
@Twonips everyone is upset/angry at J.K Rowling, because she stated very insulting replies to a specific minority group(LGQA+)

How was my comment off topic? I was directly engaging with the storyline of the game (suppressing Goblins, who everyone recognizes are jewish coded at this point) and the fact that its kind of yikes to be hyping this game's release on switch when its directly about crushing goblin rebellion. I made no mention of Off Topic Circumstances other than hinting at the fact that the world created by the Author In Question is made in such a way that the only kind of stories people want to tell in it are about how standing up for your rights is bad and you should only work through the official status quo. I did not mention Any Reason One Might Dislike The Author (though I referenced it). You cannot separate the content of the game (and of the broader HP universe) from the things it is built on.
