Bought this in 20 seconds after I found out it existed

These are great games, people who are saying otherwise should be stripped of their nintendo fan club cards. But why the hell can't we get joy mech fight too? It's not like its hard to create a japanese account and play the game anyway, but we got Twin Bee a couple of months ago and that was a famicom exclusive....what the hell nintendo?

I remember Christian Yellich or someone on the Brewers playing Fortnite on the big screen last season. This is way cooler though.

@GrailUK You're absolutely right about there being no stress. The other thing that is interesting is the priority shipping part of this. I live in the US and the games that I've ordered from Super Rare come INCREDIBLY fast considering they are shipping overseas so I don't really see the point in this. If Limited Run offered this it would make way more sense as the publish way more games and their production and shipping is kind of a mess.

its funny to me that when this game gets re-released there is an almost identical reaction to the controls as it was when it was released in 2004. This is one of the most underappreciated games ever made....but I fear that because people don't get it right away that it will never get the respect it deserves!!!

@jswhitfield8 It WAS this cheap during black friday. I actually bought it on amazon on Thanksgiving for $35, they ran out and it went back to $40

@GrailUK Was waiting for someone to mention Hydro Thunder. Now that's a port. I'm not sure if they ported Arctic Thunder but that was a fantastic racer as well.

I might have considered this if they worked in handheld mode. I really don't see the point.

My wife bought this as soon as she saw it last week. I can confirm that it's the best thing ever.

I really hope this turns out to be the best video game movie ever made. Of course we'll have to see it, but I have high hopes after this.

This is genius for any gamer getting married or getting jewelry for their wife even if they have a switch already. 2 new pokemon games are coming after all and this gets even more intense if you have kids in your family. Why not knock out one expensive purchase with another?

So they don't want to re-release the game because they think the music composer is trying to bank more royalties? That's what it sounds like to me at least. These games would have been towards the top of the list regardless of outside influences. I mean just the existence of Hover should be enough to make Sega see that it's a beloved franchise.

@sandman89 Is that in Brooklyn by chance? I haven't been over there in awhile but i remember a bar/ pizza shop that was heavily decorated in an 8 bit Mario style and they sold awesome mini pizzas for a dollar or two. Can't remember if it was called Mario's or not.

I just rode Maricars in Akihabara in March and I’m happy that they’re at least staying open. I can see how Nintendo could imagine that it’s bad for their brand, because there are plenty of people who are pissed off that your driving something so low to the ground next to them and they can’t see you. Also a fleet of carts can take up a long stretch of a lane on a busy road which is probably pretty annoying. But on the flip side of that many of the people in the city love watching the karts go by and will wave and take pics etc. Nintendo is right in this case (hard to swallow but they are), but this business should continue to thrive anyway. People will just be riding around as anime characters instead and it will be just as fun....but I will miss dressing up as Wario.....

@bezerker99 They still haven't made any REAL mention of multiplayer for games that were always restricted to one player in the past, only online functionality. I'm on the same boat here hoping that Metroid and Zelda can both be played online with other people. But if this is not happening, what online functionality will these games actually have? Speed running leader boards? Let's hope we get that multiplayer for Ninja Gaiden to to make that game just a little freaking easier too.

What i really want to know is, can you get access to the famicom games offered online if you have a Japanese E shop account and/ or online sub? There's very little doubt in my mind that Japan will have a different line up than the US and Europe, and some of their games may even utilize the mic on player 2 (If it does in fact work). I guess we will find out after the online launch.....but i must know NOW lol

I would have been ok with just about any other Wii U port, but they had to do this one eh? Port Pikmin 3 or like so many other people have already said Mario 3d world. This is Nintendo's nostalgic bread and butter for crying out loud. GIVE US A NEW 2D MARIO GAME.

You know what would have been a great idea? Instead of making a new game that won't sell for obvious reasons, why not strike a deal with Nickelodeon to add their characters as DLC to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe? I know Nintendo is still getting the hang of the DLC thing but I think that it would be incredibly successful, and in this case appropriate. Smash is a completely different beast as I think its best reserved for video game icons, but I don't see the harm in bringing in characters outside of video games for Kart.

After taking exactly (or close to) one minute to order the collectors edition I was out of luck. Absolutely insane.

Put The Butcher in Smash! Would be the best heavy hitter in the game.

@Pod My god Starcraft on Switch! Do we even need to tell Blizzard why they should do that? I mean if they're able to get Diablo 3 on the console then they should just put their entire backlog on it and make the easiest money they've ever made. I guess putting the other two diablo games on Switch wouldn't make sense with 3 coming, but I want them on there anyway.....in HD.....tomorrow.

Are you kidding me with Other M? Do you feel that sorry for it??? I get that the older games have aged poorly and Metroid Pinball is a Pinball game.....but they deserve a lot more credit than the steaming dung that is Other M. It might be the most disappointing game I've ever played. Maybe it wouldn't have been if not for the dumb controls, or the abysmal narrative, or the helpless version of Samus they created, or the linear (LINEAR!!!!!) gameplay, or if they had done ANYTHING ELSE RIGHT!!!! The graphics might have been the only thing that I can't bash as they looked pretty good for a Wii game but I'll never forgive this game for making me think that Metroid had taken a step forward, only to see that this game was step back. Despite what I've said i'd like to see them take another crack at a game like this.....just make it an ACTUAL METROID GAME!

@Spoony_Tech Because god forbid the guys at Nintendo Life take their time to write a story, edit it, make sure their photos and video don't look crappy, and make sure they are as accurate as possible, all while presenting it in a way that caters directly to Nintendo fans. Simply inexcusable.

Can someone confirm for me that this game is basically Cave Story with a frog protagonist? It sure looks like it. And if that is in fact true this is a no brainer for me.

Wasn't Holy Diver a Famicom exclusive? Does that mean this is the first time it's been available as a physical copy? Or released for English speaking audiences at all for that matter?

One step ahead of the inevitable Game Boy Mini (Pocket?). Think I'll wait for that, whenever it may come. Not a fan of putting stuff together.

I'm wondering if this mini system has more powerful hardware or emulation going on inside since it is running the DBZ games. I tried loading those games to my regular famicom mini and none of them worked (along with a few other games on the list). This makes me think that it might be worth trying to load games that don't work without Retro Arch or other outside emulation on to this mini as opposed to a regular famicom/nes mini. Of course the price tag on this is a bit absurd for overseas purchasers just to play a few games that you cant load on to your beloved mini hardware, but my curiosity is piqued none the less.

Can we just give Waluigi a proper game so that his inclusion in Smash isn't that difficult a decision for Nintendo to make? I trust the creative minds of Nintendo to make some crazy and outside the box game for him much like they did for Wario years ago. Even a new Wario Land game with Waluigi as an alternate character would be nice.

Was at the store today for a sushi striker event. I can tell you that zero people were aware of this.

I loved the demo and so did my wife but 50 bucks is way too much for a game like this. I will definitely purchase this on sale or pre owned or something . Max 20 dollar purchase.

How about they pull something similar to what they did last year and revamp zelda 2 the same way they revamped metroid 2? That game probably deserves a remake more than any game in the series, just like metroid 2. It would be more appreciated with a more tame difficulty curve in a 3d environment like ocarina. More than the brutal 2d original for sure. I would even take this on the 3ds if they want to skip switch for some reason, like Samus Returns.
