Hours away from starting my adventure! I’ll do a little exploring and then try to beat the game. And when I need a break…? I still have Final Fantasy 2 and 3 to get through!
I’m still guessing a November 2024 release for new hardware…I’m betting there will be a couple game surprises yet for Switch, but would also think that they have at least a couple big games in development for the new hardware.
A few big indie games could really carry things over the next 18 months.
Bummer I hope this sees a good price drop eventually because the art direction wants me to give it a go, but it sounds like it would be difficult to get $40 enjoyment out of it.
@rmswriter true, but you can use that argument on most $60 games
Unfortunatel…or maybe fortunately, a game’s price isn’t based on how good it is. And it wouldn’t be the first port that came to Switch with a higher price point than what it already fell to on other platforms. And then of course you also have the so-called Switch tax.
I’ve been having a blast with these! I got the whole collection for Switch, and IV separately on PlayStation. Ive almost completed the SNES trilogy, and excited to start the NES games!
@Dunan This is probably the better Picross game, though I went with Pic-a-Pix for this reason. It has a ton of puzzles, and then dlc packs for like $3.
@Azuris Just wondering what is suppose to be the problems on the SNES version that need patching? I’ve played it a ton-and never noticed any detrimental problems to it. Is it the missing Japanese items and commands? That’s not really a huge blow, especially if you haven’t played the game before.
This is cool and all, though it seems we are always getting Mario avatars. Hopefully we can start getting more obscure characters, or even some 3rd party ones!
I started with FF4 on the SNES. My brothers friend borrowed it to us and I was hooked! I had played a Shining Force 2 a little bit before this, but that’s the start of my RPGs.
These look even nicer in person! Even on a regular Switch. Many of these are rated highly on my all time favorite list, and I was worried after the last FF6 mobile port, but it seems I can relax.
As for the fonts…the original isn’t nearly as bad as what it was made to be…but the updated one didn’t improve it as much as I think everyone was hoping for either.
I’m intrigued by Necro Dancer and Little Kitty. I’ll wait for reviews and some videos on the others. I’ve had good luck with the indies I’ve picked up over the years. My biggest complaint is where to find the time to play everything!
Mega Man Powered Up may be my favorite PSP game. It’s worth noting that you could play as the bosses, and was essentially Mega Man Maker too. It’s a real shame this hasn’t been released, or even (re)remade.
Not huge on 1-1 fighting games, but bought this right away on GameCube. It was fun, though I’m not good at it. Still, I’d probably buy it once again if the GameCube version was released.
Voted 6…but remembered a 7th :/ One was traded for an XL. 1 broke because of Smash, 1 didn’t survive moving, 1 was bought for my son. I’ve also bought 2 used in the last year as found them for great prices.
Picked up 6 games between this morning and last night. I had most of the Capcom games already, but never played Ace Attorney, so figured I’d check that out.
Luckily the picross TP was still available this morning in the US-I’ve been meaning to get that for ages!
I loved Street Pass! Unfortunately I live in a pretty rural area, so getting hits was rare…but oh so exciting when one came.
And, of course, when they added the McDonald’s part, I hit them up frequently! A city about 45 mins away has like 5 locations. I remember stopping at all 5 one day
Edit: I did not eat 5 meals. Burger here, fries there, drink at another, bathroom break, and idk what the fifth still was!
NES for me-though this could change depending on future updates to the systems. NES has Dr Mario though, which is always a great option when I don’t want to play anything else.
A lot of Final Fantasy games are listed, but not 8, which, imho, is better than any of the other FF here. A shame.
I get it, everyone has the favorite games, and lists like this are subjective so I’m really not complaining. The list really shows us how strong of an rpg lineup we have on Switch. This is awesome, as we haven’t had times like this since the SNES days! (And even some of those are available with NSO!)
I think they’re awesome, but would like to see new ones. Like, it doesn’t seem like any of the splatoon ones are really different, besides the squid and inkling. I’d like to see like a new Star Fox game, and amiibos for the team. Or maybe a new F-Zero, with a bunch of those characters. Or even just odd ball characters getting one. Make a Pushmo amiibo with collection release for Switch. Or Dillon the armadillo!
I would love to see a western release. As it stands, this is the only game I’ve ever imported! And it harder and not as fun when you can’t read anything!

Re: Feature: Nintendo eShop Selects - April 2023
I too gotta go with Final Fantasy VI…it’s a arguably my favorite game of all time, and this remaster really did a great job!
Though, really, I feel like the whole 6 game collection did greataIV needs some more acknowledgment too!
Re: Random: 'Sonic 5' Is Trending, And No, It Doesn't Mean 'Sonic 5' Is Definitely A Thing
I’d be happy with a Sonic 4 port. I really enjoyed that. I think I have part 1 on my Ouya…haha

Re: Post-Apocalyptic RPG Biomutant Is Officially Coming To Switch
@rmswriter That’s msrp on psn and Xbox. I can handle that…or even better when it hits a sale. I was worried about it being released as $59.99.
Re: Post-Apocalyptic RPG Biomutant Is Officially Coming To Switch
I’ve actually wanted to play this. Will be glad to get it on Switch…if the Switch version is in line with the price on other consoles.
Re: Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Series Sells Two Million Copies
@S83 V has such a great battle system! I prefer VI overall, but glad to see love for V!

Re: Random: Nintendo's New Zelda Video Asks "When Did You First Wield The Master Sword?"
Got a Super Nintendo in ‘94. The big game we wanted was DKC. But Zelda came with the system. What a time!

Re: Poll: Which Was Your First 'Final Fantasy'?
@jump Hearsay! That’s my favorite game of all time Actually, it depends on the day with CT and FF6…but even on a bad day, it’s still coming in at #3!
Re: Review: Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster - A Beautiful And Faithful Reimagining Of The Classics
@NeonPizza They are all great games. Though I’d rank it third in terms of story, with arguably the best battle engine.

E3 didn’t leave us; we left E3

Times change, and I get that. Still, it’s a sad end to an era.
Re: Anniversary: Soulcalibur II Is 20 Years Old, And So Is Nintendo's Best Cameo

Re: Video: Kirby's Return To Dream Land Deluxe Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch & Wii)
This looks so much better with this graphical style…except for King Dedede of course, whom now just looks like a disaster.
Re: Poll: Which Nintendo Switch Online Console Do You Play The Most?
NES for me-though this could change depending on future updates to the systems. NES has Dr Mario though, which is always a great option when I don’t want to play anything else.

@BaldBelper78 people were moaning?
Re: Upcoming Nintendo Switch Games And Accessories For January And February 2023
Theaterhythm is probably my only purchase here. Maybe Tales, as I loved that on GameCube

I’m going to guess XXI. But they’ll ask be finishing up the FF7Remake, so that’s something 🙃
Re: Feature: Nintendo Switch Year In Review 2022 - Our Most Played Games
Added the most hours to Minecraft this year. It’s fun, and I enjoy it, but it’s also easier to add time to when the kids like to play with me.

Re: A New Hellboy Game Has Been Announced For Nintendo Switch
If the game plays half as good as it looks, we are all in for a treat!
