I think they’re awesome, but would like to see new ones. Like, it doesn’t seem like any of the splatoon ones are really different, besides the squid and inkling.
I’d like to see like a new Star Fox game, and amiibos for the team.
Or maybe a new F-Zero, with a bunch of those characters.
Or even just odd ball characters getting one. Make a Pushmo amiibo with collection release for Switch. Or Dillon the armadillo!

Though the Tactics Advance games would be awesome, my vote goes to Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

I would love to see a western release. As it stands, this is the only game I’ve ever imported! And it harder and not as fun when you can’t read anything!

I bought Donut Dodo on a whim. It’s a fantastic game-especially if you love retro arcade games!

Added the most hours to Minecraft this year. It’s fun, and I enjoy it, but it’s also easier to add time to when the kids like to play with me.

Man-I love amiibo-though I wish we would get some new ones. But I got to admit, I had a much easier time buying them when they were at $13 each.

Visuals remind me of Mad World

I’ve been playing this a lot. Is it a great game, maybe not. But it’s definitely a good one-even on Switch. Again, 4 is much too low here

This is a pretty good list-not sure if God of War deserves first, but I can handle it. My biggest complaint would be Last of Us.

@somnambulance I fully agree! Also, as a busy adult with little time to sink in to games nowadays, this was perfect.

I’d love to play through Persona 5, but I can’t imagine trying to get through a game that’s over 100 hours. And if it becomes a favorite, when would I find time to play it again?

If I didn’t already open this elsewhere, I’d probably get it-which is more than I can say for most cloud versions of games.

I forgot how strong of a launch lineup the WiiU had. If only they could’ve kept up the momentum!

My top pick is ZombiU. Though NintendoLand deserves a mention as well. That is pretty much my only reason to return to the system anymore.

I remember reading about Pocket Monsters in Nintendo Power…it was just a tiny article about this rpg from Japan. I remember thinking, this game has to come out in the US-it will be huge! I got Pokémon Blue shortly after it’s release

I love these collections. It’s nice not having to buy one retro game for like $8. Give me a bunch of them! Remember the Midway Treasures collections during the GameCube era?

I have gamepass right now, so will be checking it out. If I enjoy it, will be adding it to my Switch collection.

I’m excited to see/hear more on this. I’ve enjoyed the other 3d Sonic games ( except ‘06-haven’t played it) but I wouldn’t call any of them great.

@dimi There are much worse licensed games, imho. ET isn’t that bad…there are a couple poor design choices (the constant falling into pits), but you gotta remember when this came out. The game is actually quite deep (as deep as those pits!) for a 2600 game! Also, if you read the manual, the game made more sense.

Short story: ET gets too much hate.

I don’t have a problem with them winning these awards. I too looked BDSP more than Arceus, not to detract from that game.

I’m also hoping for a Gen 5 remake, as it’s my favorite Gen:)

What’s up with SquareEnix lately? I love their Switch output, but their game names are hilarious. Octopath Traveler, Triangle Strategy, Various Daylife 😛

Pretty good, I must say! Zelda will be cool, though The mastered ports would’ve been a real treat. Some nice surprises, like Tales and TheTheatrhythm.

A Mario sequel would’ve blown this out of the sky, but going on 6 years into the Switch’s life, I’d expect that is being made for Switch2.

Excellent output from Square though, I must say! I haven’t liked Square so much since the’90s!

Still have it on GameCube! Will be glad to play through this again.

This was great fun! Probably my favorite game of the year so far! I grew up playing the SNES RPGs, and this fit right in! Shame we didn’t get it back then, but better late than never!

I’ve tried these all since Morrowind. Skyrim I think I’ve started 3 times. I just can’t get into it. I want to like it…but I guess I’m just more into JRPGs.

I liked the list better when I read it best to worst…though when you realized the title is wrong, i didn’t like it as much.

My top region is Unova, btw.

Like others said, this isn’ta bad list. I would also make changes for my own, notably increasing snes and gba entries, while lowering n64 and Wii. And then probably swap ds and 3ds.

I bought this awhile ago and didn’t play it much. A few nights ago I started seriously playing it, and it’s very enjoyable! I’m hoping to beat it while the sequel is still on sale.

I loved Gen 1, but skipped 2. I couldn’t get into 3 when I tried. I thought my Pokémon days were over. Eventually, I bought Pokemon White on a whim. I loved it! It’s reignited my love for the games which lasts to this day!

While I agree it does have the best story of all the gens, I think the thing that helped me get into it, was that it was a totally brand new set of Pokémon. It was amazing. Then you beat the game, and bam, a ton of older Pokémon were available!

Nice! Played this a ton back in the day. Capture the Flag at approximately 2 seconds per frame!

These are all pretty close. I think Europe has the best though.

This is easily my Game of the Year so far! Every bit of it has been a great time! I wish we could see more games like this today, but really, I am so glad to get this localized after so many years!

SE has really been iffy with me for the past decade (or two), but some games like this really show their talent.

I haven’t played a ton of these, but the ones I have are great. I really enjoyed A Dark Room and was glad to see it listed here!
