I had been holding out, until a couple weeks ago. My wife and son wanted the first one so bad I finally broke down and bought it for them.
Now that I know about the vastly superior sequel I'm regretting not waiting. Guess I'll have to buy both as they're loving the first game

@Zorox88 @DefHalan Zorox I'm with you. I was going to buy this from Amazon, but I think I may stop at Best Buy after work Monday because I'd rather have a digital copy of the game.
DefHalan, when you called Ubisoft you say they hooked you up. Did they offer you a digital copy? Or physical only?

@Agramonte StarFox is only in the Switch version. You only get the full version of Starlink if you buy it on Switch!!!

Yes it's unfortunate as my wife and I have sunk so many hours into this game, but I didn't expect they'd continue making new content forever

I own JackBox Party Packs 1-4 and they have been wonderful for when friends and family come to visit.

Hopefully this one is just as good as 1-4

@maruse I can't speak to NBA 2K19, but I bought NBA 2K18 a year ago and they backup your saves to their 2K servers so they don't need Nintendo to do it.
But 5GB save files is a lie that keys getting propagated I've looked my son has a save file too and it doesn't take up anywhere near that much space

@neufel @chardir @ICISAZEL @Jayenkai @chardir everyone thinks NBA 2K save files are 5GB. I own the game and have had tons of fun with it and there isn't anywhere near 5GB of save data on my Switch. What's more 2K has been cloud saving to their own servers for free for a year now

Are any of these fun for someone who has zero neo geo nostalgia?

We have a bunch of family coming tonight so there'll be plenty of Jackbox Party Pack 1-4 along with Mario Kart and Splatoon

@Nater YES!!! We have 3 Switches (my wife and I have 3 kids and all 5 of us play the system), but everyone has to try to remember which game they've been playing on which system because even if we buy the physical copy of the game the save file is still stuck on that system. If we can now magically play that save file on any of the 3 Switches that'll make a lot of us happy (I think we all actively use 2 save files for Splatoon because we do so much time with all 3 online together with random configurations of 3 of the 5 of us playing together so it'll be really nice to only have 1 save file for Splatoon and have all my leveling up stick)

@countzero @Nincompoop Actually I own NBA 2K18 and it already does cloud saves (to 2K servers) and it's not really 5GB save files, at least the file on my Switch isn't even close to that and the cloud save doesn't take very long to upload or download.

I bought this game on Wii U, my wife and I both really enjoyed it

All I can say is I had never played an Ys game before, but I'm LOVING Ys VIII on my Switch!

I LOVED this game on Wii U. I have missed it since selling the Wii U...I just might buy it again

I LOVE NBA 2K, but I liked that these games came out at different times of the year. I own NBA 2K18 on Switch and was planning on buying NBA Playgrounds 2 back in May, but if it's comes out in the fall with 2K19 I'm pretty sure I won't be buying both

Just as long as they don't also discontinue NBA 2K. I LOVE me some basketball! On Wii U they did NBA 2K13 and it worked great, but then they never didn't another one on Wii U.

We own 3 Switches and 3 copies of Splatoon 2. I will be buying the $35 family Nintendo Online account so we can continue to play Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart online.

@dystome they aren't doing this to people that aren't pirating. I can tell you this because I just barely sold my Splatoon 2 cart to a co-worker (the $40 eShop sale convinced me to open digitally instead) and she hasn't had ANY problems playing

To me the devs are doing a great job... Hopefully EA will grow a brain and realize that this game probably sells best on Switch and they fund a Switch port. If they had been smart they would have funded the port awhile ago and at the reveal the devs could have said "Available on PS4 & Xbone today and Switch eventually"

@Ogbert it is being published by EA. Money is not the issue EA had buttloads of it. Either the devs didn't want to and they are trying to justify it or EA doesn't want to and they're just not dumb enough to "bite the hand that feeds them" or throw EA under the bus when EA tuition paying the bills

I see 2 possibilities...1 good and the other GREAT!

They could release Mother 3 as part of GBA mini bundle (just like they did with SNES mini & Star Fox 2). That would be good and it'd get more GBA mini sales.

Or

They could release Mother 3 in September as one of the games you get access to with an active Nintendo Online Account.
That would be GREAT! It would help sell the Switch AND the Online subscription!
