Clearly I'm very much in the minority here. I. LOVE Donkey Kong Country games, but I found DK64 super boring and this doesn't speak to me at all. I watched half of the direct and just couldn't watch any more.
Double Dash is my favorite Mario Kart, I keep wishing they'd bring that mechanic back. But since they aren't, I'll settle for playing online with a whole bunch of people.
The only game on this list that I would actually play is Diddy Kong Racing! I have MAJOR nostalgia for the N64, but it was Nintendo's first dive into 3D and most games don't hold up well.
Diddy Kong Racing is so different from Mario Kart, it's seriously a TRAVESTY that it never got a sequel.
If Diddy Kong Racing 2 came out tomorrow we'd buy it and we'd probably play BOTH that and Mario Kart as they are both enjoyable in very different ways. That being said, as much as I loved MK64, I loved Diddy Kong Racing even more.
@blaisedinsd It's not easy, it's painful. It takes half an hour to get to the point where you can print off the shipping label, then you don't have joy cons for 3 weeks. When I buy the replacement joysticks it's $5 and it takes me about 5 minutes to replace and then we can continue to use them. I have a wife and 5 kids and all 7 of us play Nintendo, we need every controller we can get our hands on.
I downloaded the demo and it worked smoothly and with no issues. Is there any reason to believe that if I buy it I won't continue to have a good experience?
@Anti-Matter as a business owner, this answer frustrates me. It is really hard to make a company profitable. If companies aren't careful to ALWAYS keep profits first it's really easy to lose control and have your company end up on the wrong side. Then if you're lucky it's a long PAINFUL stretch to fix it and if you're not lucky you have to start laying people off and possibly even go out of business.
I wish it was a ported version instead of the cloud version as well, but I can't fault them for not doing it because I've spend too many 80 hour weeks and sleepless nights trying to keep my company profitable.
I already pre-ordered Switch OLED! 1-I play mostly handheld so the bigger higher end screen will be great 2-I'm still rocking my release day switch so it'll be a battery upgrade for me 3-i have a wife and 5 kids and we all play Nintendo, save files are only allowed on the internal 32GB (you can't save your game on an SD card) between the fact that there's 7 of us and the fact that my kids have played a lot of Minecraft and Lego Worlds and those games have large save files, the upgrade to 64 GB will be a big deal for us
@Roger_Brazil they don't charge you money, but it takes up my time to go through the process and ship it and then my kids don't have as many joy cons for the next 3-4 weeks. I just don't like to do it
I'll give it a try, I'm tired of buying replacement joysticks. We have 3 switches and my wife and I have 5 kids and all 7 of us play so we've worn through A LOT of joy con joy sticks
I beat Advance Wars on GBA and Wii U Virtual Console. Unfortunately I no longer have either system and my kids are now old enough to enjoy this series so I'll probably buy Advance Wars for my kids and then hope it sells well enough for Nintendo to revive the series that I love (or at least bring back Days of Ruin, the best of the 4 Advance Wars games)
Before you say it, yes I read what the author wrote about Nintendo Land, but I have found a solution that I will hope for (yes I realize it's not likely, but I'm still hoping). Target Nintendo Land to families that have 2 switches (there are a lot of us) and kids who have friends with a Switch. Offer a free download that makes a switch used in handheld the equivalent of the Wii U Gamepad. Then switch 1 has the game and is docked to the TV and Switch 2 has the free download and just acts like the gamepad.
Those 2 were FANTASTIC GAMES and I want to own and play BOTH again.
@B238ben the difference though is Fire Emblem Awakening dramatically improved over other Fire Emblem games where this is just the same fantastic games. So while I think it'll still well (I'll buy it) I don't think it'll blow expectations out of the water like Awakening did
@Heavyarms55 no worries, I assume you didn't mean any offense. Everyone has different preferences. I liked that they went with new characters just because it shook things up. I liked the darker tone. I'm not sure that it'd always want the darker tone, but I like when they shake things up sometimes. Also, they ratcheted up the difficulty level. I had no problems conquering the other games, but Days of Ruin was significantly more challenging and I loved that I had to change up my strategies that had worked in the previous games and find new strategies.
@Heavyarms55 I will be the second then. I LOVED Advance Wars & Advance Wars 2 (Black Hole Rising). Then I thought Dual Strike was a solid OK. Fortunately, Days of Ruin more then made up for it. At first I wasn't sure if I liked Days of Ruin more then the GBA games, but then the GBA games came to Wii U and I played them again. They're still great, but there's no question Days of Ruin was my favorite.
As for todays announcement, I recognized that it was Advance Wars BEFORE I realized it was a remake. I got really excited about the possibility of a new game. Then it was a let down, but I was watching with my 7, 9 & 11 year olds and I now realize that even though I played on GBA & Wii U, they didn't and now they get a chance.
I'm loving the Wonderful 101 and I'd like to finally finish Torna the golden country as I love the Xenoblade games, but I struggle with them more recently as I've been working a lot of 60 hour weeks. I'm away on a work trip so I'll probably play some Splatoon and Mario Kart online with my wife and kids today if I can pull away from work for long enough
@DarthFoxMcCloud If it makes you feel any better, I bought a capture card just so that we could keep playing Jackbox with friends and extended family without them being present
Isn't it obvious that it takes more resources to make an HD game than a 3DS game? So while we should expect Nintendo Switch to have more than Wii U we should NOT expect Switch to have as many as Wii U & 3DS COMBINED since it takes fewer resources to pump it a 3DS game.
You guys are all helping justify the fact that I prefer to buy digital. I kickerstarted this game and got the digital version of the game which was cheaper than the physical version, had no shipping costs, no import costs and showed up weeks before release date.
@Rpg-lover thanks I hope you're right. I've been wanting Astral Chain, but I bought Fire Emblem Three Houses then I kick started Wonderful 101 and Xenoblade is my all time favorite game so I had to buy that. However it's finally Astral Chain time
I just bought Astral Chain and I'm trying to finish up Wonderful 101 and Xenoblade (the later 2 are AMAZING hopefully Astral Chain won't disappoint me after those 2)
They should not force everyone to do digital only, but for people like me that would like it they should take the money they put into the cartridge reader and put it into more internal storage

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Donkey Kong Bananza For Switch 2?

Re: Switch 2's Best-Selling eShop Games So Far
Oh man, I bought Split Fiction and have liked it. I was hoping it was selling well and would be on this list
Re: Random: Nintendo Nearly Parked Mario Kart: Double Dash's Dual-Driver Hook
@Roibeard64 That would be AWESOME!!!
Double Dash is my favorite Mario Kart, I keep wishing they'd bring that mechanic back. But since they aren't, I'll settle for playing online with a whole bunch of people.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 'GameShare' Brings A New Way To Play Locally On Multiple Systems
Please port Nintendo Land!
Re: Rumour: New Switch 2 Rumour Makes Wild Claim About Mysterious 'C' Button
I would LOVE to buy a Nintendo Land port!!!
That was my 2nd favorite Wii U game (behind only Xenoblade X)
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Predictions - What Do You Want To See?
There isn't much else they can get me to buy on Switch 1.
They convinced me with Xenoblade X.
The following I'd be willing to buy immediately:
1-Nintendo Land
2-Fire Emblem Awakening
3-Super Mario 3D Land (The best Mario Game ever)
Otherwise, I'm playing Xenoblade until Switch 2 releases.
Re: Poll: Would You Pay $70 For The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom?
Use the vouchers and get this game plus 1 more for $100
Re: It's Official, Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers Are Back (North America)
I'm tempted to buy 3 pair of vouchers.
Xenoblade 3
Age of Calamity
Kirby
Kirby
Splatoon 3
Donkey Kong Country
Pokken Tournament
Mario Party
Fire Emblem Engage
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I started a new company a couple years ago and all the extra hours have meant I'm way behind on my gaming
Re: Poll: Which Of Rare's Classic N64 Games Would You Like To See On Switch Online?

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Gets An Eight-Minute Overview Trailer
I keep hearing people that say they play the game in Japanese, but how do you get the story if you do that?
I love these games. I really hope I can find the time to play this one.
XC1 is my all time favorite game
Breath of the Wild is my #2
XCX is my #3
Guess I really like the Monolith Soft style

Re: Switch's N64 And Sega Genesis Controllers Are Now Up For Pre-Order
I don't know, if the joystick on that N64 controller doesn't start wearing out after a year it just won't feel the same.

Xenoblade X
Nintendo Land

Re: Nintendo Cancelled Star Fox TV Show After Netflix Leaked Legend Of Zelda Plans
People have to know by now that if you're doing business with Nintendo the NDAs are legit and super strict
Re: Nintendo Shares Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond, And It's Looking Pretty Bare
@ImagineerNik yes do that for Xenoblade X and Nintendo Land!!!
I'll buy BOTH OF THEM
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 12th)

Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light - We've Come A Long Way In 30 Years
I might have loved this game as a kid, but as an adult with 60 hour work weeks and 5 kids, I just can't be bothered
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Character Designer Celebrates Third Anniversary With Some New Artwork
I've played all 4 Xenoblade adventures (original, X, 2 & Torna) and they are all varying degrees of FANTASTIC
I'd rank them
1-Original
2-X
3-Torna
4-2
Re: Ring Fit Adventure Has Now Outsold Zelda: Breath Of The Wild's Physical Sales In Japan
@oatmaster I had the same thought. I threw the terrible Joy Cons in that drift like crazy and it worked exactly the same
Re: Guide: Super Mario Bros. 35 - How To Win And Top Tips For Mario's Switch Battle Royale
@Crockin so grab a Pro Controller and use the D Pad
Re: The Jackbox Party Pack 7 Brings All-New Games To Switch Next Month
@DarthFoxMcCloud If it makes you feel any better, I bought a capture card just so that we could keep playing Jackbox with friends and extended family without them being present
Re: Poll: What's The Best 3D Mario Game?
I'm clearly in the minority, having played them all I enjoyed 3D Land best and Sunshine second best
Not saying the others aren't great games I enjoyed Odyssey and as a kid I was blown away by 64, but 3D Land & Sunshine are my favorites!
Re: Physical Rewards Are Now Available On My Nintendo (US)
@LinktotheFuture @tylerryan79 I wanted the Monado, but sold out. I settled for the expensive stickers I had it Xenoblade is my all time favorite game
Re: Super Mario 3D World Is Coming To Switch, Along With "Bowser's Fury" Expansion
Personally I looked 3D Land better, but I know many disagree with me
Re: Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition And Clubhouse Games Both Surpass 1 Million Sales
Xenoblade Chronicles is my all time favorite game... Of coarse I bought it
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 8th)
Wonderful 101 & Astral Chain. I'm hoping to finish Wonderful 101 so that I can finally try Astral Chain!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 1st)
Wonderful 101 & Xenoblade Definitive Edition

@KidBoruto that would be AWESOME! Unfortunately I assume they will only consider it if Definitive Edition sells OFF THE RAILS!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 20th)
@Tyranexx I'm sorry to hear it took that long to get your copy.
I understand why most people prefer physical copies, but I prefer digital so mine came awhile back and yes I'm loving it
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 20th)
How is nobody playing Wonderful 101?
That game is GREAT!

Xenoblade DE, Wonderful 101 & with the current sale Nintendo is doing, Astral Chain is on sale for the first time ever
