Re: Poll: Which Of Rare's Classic N64 Games Would You Like To See On Switch Online?

leo13

The only game on this list that I would actually play is Diddy Kong Racing! I have MAJOR nostalgia for the N64, but it was Nintendo's first dive into 3D and most games don't hold up well.

Diddy Kong Racing is so different from Mario Kart, it's seriously a TRAVESTY that it never got a sequel.

If Diddy Kong Racing 2 came out tomorrow we'd buy it and we'd probably play BOTH that and Mario Kart as they are both enjoyable in very different ways. That being said, as much as I loved MK64, I loved Diddy Kong Racing even more.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Gets An Eight-Minute Overview Trailer

I keep hearing people that say they play the game in Japanese, but how do you get the story if you do that?

I love these games. I really hope I can find the time to play this one.

XC1 is my all time favorite game
Breath of the Wild is my #2
XCX is my #3

Guess I really like the Monolith Soft style

Re: Someone Thinks They've Resolved Nintendo's Joy-Con Drift Problem With An Incredibly Simple Fix

leo13

@blaisedinsd It's not easy, it's painful. It takes half an hour to get to the point where you can print off the shipping label, then you don't have joy cons for 3 weeks. When I buy the replacement joysticks it's $5 and it takes me about 5 minutes to replace and then we can continue to use them. I have a wife and 5 kids and all 7 of us play Nintendo, we need every controller we can get our hands on.

Re: Video: Why Didn't Square Enix Port The Kingdom Hearts Collection To Switch?

leo13

@Anti-Matter as a business owner, this answer frustrates me. It is really hard to make a company profitable. If companies aren't careful to ALWAYS keep profits first it's really easy to lose control and have your company end up on the wrong side. Then if you're lucky it's a long PAINFUL stretch to fix it and if you're not lucky you have to start laying people off and possibly even go out of business.

I wish it was a ported version instead of the cloud version as well, but I can't fault them for not doing it because I've spend too many 80 hour weeks and sleepless nights trying to keep my company profitable.

Re: Nintendo Shares Updated Release Schedule For 2021 And Beyond

leo13

I already pre-ordered Switch OLED!
1-I play mostly handheld so the bigger higher end screen will be great
2-I'm still rocking my release day switch so it'll be a battery upgrade for me
3-i have a wife and 5 kids and we all play Nintendo, save files are only allowed on the internal 32GB (you can't save your game on an SD card) between the fact that there's 7 of us and the fact that my kids have played a lot of Minecraft and Lego Worlds and those games have large save files, the upgrade to 64 GB will be a big deal for us

Re: New Nintendo Infographic Shows Every Game Featured During The E3 Direct

leo13

I beat Advance Wars on GBA and Wii U Virtual Console. Unfortunately I no longer have either system and my kids are now old enough to enjoy this series so I'll probably buy Advance Wars for my kids and then hope it sells well enough for Nintendo to revive the series that I love (or at least bring back Days of Ruin, the best of the 4 Advance Wars games)

Re: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch

leo13

I really want them to do 2 games:

Xenoblade X
Nintendo Land

Before you say it, yes I read what the author wrote about Nintendo Land, but I have found a solution that I will hope for (yes I realize it's not likely, but I'm still hoping).
Target Nintendo Land to families that have 2 switches (there are a lot of us) and kids who have friends with a Switch. Offer a free download that makes a switch used in handheld the equivalent of the Wii U Gamepad. Then switch 1 has the game and is docked to the TV and Switch 2 has the free download and just acts like the gamepad.

Those 2 were FANTASTIC GAMES and I want to own and play BOTH again.

Re: Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Reimagines The Classics On Switch

leo13

@Heavyarms55 no worries, I assume you didn't mean any offense. Everyone has different preferences. I liked that they went with new characters just because it shook things up. I liked the darker tone. I'm not sure that it'd always want the darker tone, but I like when they shake things up sometimes. Also, they ratcheted up the difficulty level. I had no problems conquering the other games, but Days of Ruin was significantly more challenging and I loved that I had to change up my strategies that had worked in the previous games and find new strategies.

Re: Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp Reimagines The Classics On Switch

leo13

@Heavyarms55 I will be the second then. I LOVED Advance Wars & Advance Wars 2 (Black Hole Rising).
Then I thought Dual Strike was a solid OK. Fortunately, Days of Ruin more then made up for it. At first I wasn't sure if I liked Days of Ruin more then the GBA games, but then the GBA games came to Wii U and I played them again. They're still great, but there's no question Days of Ruin was my favorite.

As for todays announcement, I recognized that it was Advance Wars BEFORE I realized it was a remake. I got really excited about the possibility of a new game. Then it was a let down, but I was watching with my 7, 9 & 11 year olds and I now realize that even though I played on GBA & Wii U, they didn't and now they get a chance.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 12th)

leo13

I'm loving the Wonderful 101 and I'd like to finally finish Torna the golden country as I love the Xenoblade games, but I struggle with them more recently as I've been working a lot of 60 hour weeks.
I'm away on a work trip so I'll probably play some Splatoon and Mario Kart online with my wife and kids today if I can pull away from work for long enough

Re: Poll: What's The Best 3D Mario Game?

leo13

I'm clearly in the minority, having played them all I enjoyed 3D Land best and Sunshine second best

Not saying the others aren't great games I enjoyed Odyssey and as a kid I was blown away by 64, but 3D Land & Sunshine are my favorites!
