Re: Switch 2 Black Friday Deals Are A Bit 'Meh', But Here Are The Best We've Seen

kuu_nousee

If you look for sales of any of the brands there isn't much besides on the PlayStation side this year tbh. And those sales are still muted vs other years with newer games or releases also.

There still are a few options in the US for joycons and pro controllers at select retailed. For Switch 2 it's been as expected or slightly better than it should be for a VERY poor Black Friday sales overall.

My issue isn't with sales honestly is still the Game Key Cards existing for games that shouldn't use them. Outlaws is a great pick up but that's probably it sadly.

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

kuu_nousee

@MSaturn yep right on about every point. If you really think about it it's very on brand for the 'new Nintendo' with piracy take downs and control over their IP. Yeah they do release themselves strictly on game cards but that's only because they get a cut on the price as well they know it will sell better than GKC. 3rd parties unless very inclined will just use GKCs for all their games. Better get used to them, digital or just realize you won't buy many if few games on Switch 2 in its whole lifetime.

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

Told you in the previous article he wasn't stating the real reason. Also it is a bandwidth problem with game cards vs SD Express and S2 internal storage. It's been exhausting talked about on other forums over the last few weeks.

We will see most if not all 3rd party AAA games strictly GKC just because of that (unless the game's engine doesn't require I believe more than 400mbps that the game cards hit for their limit), not that they really want to but because it's the only way without being digital only on Switch 2.

It's gonna be a hell of a generation for Nintendo to have to skirt answers on the 3 different bandwidth storage limitations for game on Internal, SD Express and Game Cards.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake For Switch 2 Slips Into 2026, Game-Key Card Confirmed

kuu_nousee

@topsekret well any non Nintendo AAA games are mostly over 70gb if not reaching 100gb now unless they are smaller/shorter experiences. That's just where AAA games are heading.

Something like Star Wars Outlaws is as well but they brought it down via methods on Switch 2 to about 20-25gb. Currently on my PC it is almost 69gb of space. Not all companies try to compact them down or even CAN. Also Outlaws was made on a proprietary game engine snowdrop. And FF7 games are Unreal so probably also an engine issue it cannot be much smaller in size.

I just checked the Matrix DEMO on PS5 is 26gb. Unreal can bloat game sizes. And that's just a demo.

Does this suck absolute-damn-lutely. But there may not be if any options for FF7 Remake to get on a 64gb game card if it's well over that size. But I would still consider Square cheaping out here if it lands under 64gb digital, seems still something like they'd do.

Re: Mario Kart World Wins "Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game" Of Gamescom 2025

kuu_nousee

Yeah that doesn't make sense to me unless a story driven game won best game. After playing Bananza it's not even close it's the best exclusive on Switch 2. Mario Kart World might as well not even exist it's so far behind imo. Though MK just hasn't been good since Double Dash to me, World wasn't a bad game at all it was how can I say it without not saying it.. they need to give the MK IP a break for at least a generation. But they won't it sells, but hey we are getting Kirby Air Riders so whatever everyone gets fun games (besides new F-ZERO or Eternal Darkness games cough).

Re: Gulikit Unveils New Premium Controllers Compatible With Switch And Switch 2

kuu_nousee

I have a Switch 2 Pro controller and it is good enough but a bit ..slick feeling and doesn't hold in the hand very well. I have an EasySMX S10 on the way, but I'm not opposed to getting a TT Max if the price is $60-$70. Three options to wake on sleep for Switch 2, this feels like a dream.

@Abeedo well I'll get it if tariffs don't change it much off $70 USD.

Re: Nightdive's CEO Reiterates Desire To Remaster 'Eternal Darkness'

kuu_nousee

I need a real release. Switch Online NES, SNES, GBA, etc. were all mostly fine. Though I'm not paying for GameCube online games. The infrastructure just doesn't seem to be able to perform like native GameCube or better its just as simple as that even form Nintendo server to a Switch 2. Just remake / remaster it playable offline on a Switch 2 game card for the love of God.

Re: Forget Switch 2 Game Key-Cards - "Full On-The-Cart Physical Releases" Are What People Want, Says Publisher Lost In Cult

kuu_nousee

@The-Chosen-one Early PC gaming was heavily physical boxes/discs and shareware Floppy disks basically NOTHING was digital for years. I still have plenty of mine even Myst, FF7, UT 2003, and Crysis Warhead. Sounds more like you were late into the PC Steam ecosystem. I had the Half-life 2 box with 7 CDs that forced me to download Steam in 2004.

Re: Shuhei Yoshida Says Sony Doesn't Really Consider Nintendo As Competition

kuu_nousee

It only made sense to talk about console power and to leave Nintendo out of the conversation when the Wii came out though during that generation Nintendo obliterated Microsoft and Sony in sales.

When you talk about sales and income it also doesn't make any sense, it's almost like Sony moved the goalpost just because they don't sell as well as Nintendo again.

Both conversations can be true where each is leading the mindshare of the console #1 platform but at the end of the day Nintendo currently sells more than PlayStation. That is what matters anyways to investors and Nintendo makes more exclusives (than any other platform) so that also matters to some consumers.

Really all this means PlayStation is using this strategy to make the most money they can which is admirable.

Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"

kuu_nousee

Well this is simple, if a playable game isn't on the card then there is no reason to buy new or ever. And let's talk about price too, old games at least $10 if not $20 too much while being a game-key card.

This isn't shocking news and was easily seen well before launch, especially when most Switch 1 games on card are playable without a download. Publishers made the wrong decisions and this is the outcome. They lose.

CDPR doing a full game on card plus an expansion is worthy of $60-$70, that's the only way your gonna sell a physical Switch 2 game to a Switch 1 audience. They were the only publisher/dev that took it seriously, besides Nintendo. Let's hope publishers learn otherwise the Switch 2 physical presence will go the way of how Xbox is operating.

Re: Nintendo Survey Asks Switch 2 Users About Their Experience So Far

kuu_nousee

@axelhander yeah I think many of us with more premium phones, tablets, handhelds, consoles, PC parts, monitors, TV, etc. are still bummed by what has ended up as the Switch 2 hardware itself.

They barely did the baseline of what we expected, still they cheaped out for $450 USD. The controllers and the dock itself are the worst offenders. How does a dock not output VRR but 4k60fps or 1080p120fps? Also why does barely hitting the back of the dock just tip over the Switch 2? Major QA/design problems here so I've had to wedge my Switch 2 docked between an Xbox 360 & Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive in my entertainment system so when I put in/take out game cards it doesn't just crumble over and bust the screen inside the dock when managing a physical game card.

The lack of any magnetic sensors in Joy-Cons or even a freaking $85 "Pro" controller is just an insult. Oh and do you want to turn on your Switch from a couch without Joy-Con 2? Yeah it requires that $85 "Pro" controller.

There are so many good things here with the software emulation with old Switch 1 games, the majority of my time with my Switch 2. BoTW and ToTK 4k60fps upgrades are excellent also. Mario Kart World is the most Nintendo 'fine' release, perfectly acceptable though the sole new mode is a giant waste of time. Absolutely not worth close to $80 USD though understand people that love MK online it probably is worth $50 with the bundle.

I've had a ton of fun but basically only with the advertising 3D Switch Zelda upgrades, otherwise old stuff running at locked 30fps (finally) or at/close to 60fps. Most of the new launch games simply aren't that good or just okay at best. Still haven't played CP2077 or SF6 and I will admit they seem like good releases but again not new games.

Re: Review: Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller - A New Benchmark In Comfort And Design

kuu_nousee

Worst part about this controller is it's $85 to be able to turn on my Switch 2 from my couch. Sure you can with joy-con 2 with controller adapter but they are still bad.

@RCGamer unfortunately the joy-con 2 have been taken apart and no Hall, TMR, or any magnetic sensors for the sticks. So Pro 2 could have it but the likelihood is almost 0% until someone rips one open. Again more reason to wait or not buy it at this time.
