Re: Industry Analyst: Sony's Shock Physical Announcement Unlikely To Influence Nintendo's Plans

kuu_nousee

@Anti-Matter the reality here is games that CANNOT run on the game card (much slower than SD Express and Internal storage) i.e. Star Wars Outlaws wouldn't have a Switch 2 version AT ALL physically.

Also if GKC is gone Switch 2 wouldn't get a physical version of the next Call of Duty or similar games like Final Fantasy Remake/Rebirth/Revelation. You do realize Rebirth is like 109gb?

If we want a way to resell GKC (at this moment) is the only way until 256gb or 512gb Game Cards exist for Switch 2.

And if you say "I don't care" well you would be bringing the PS5/PS6 no disc news to people on Switch 2.

@JetmanUK steam deck runs it on very low 720p with FSR at 40-60 fps (I have tested this in the first 3 missions for about 4 hours today). I'm sure will run very well on 5070Ti when I get that PC re-setup.

I'd imagine with a custom build they could get low/med/high settings mix running 1080p DLSS with 30-40fps on Switch 2. Maybe even better since this is a in house engine not Unreal. As well due to the hidden performance mode with Hitman on Switch 2.

Might just double dip this one depending on how it feels after one completion just like I did for Resident Evil 9 on Switch 2. So far it's excellent.

Re: Star Fox Is Finally Getting Another Game, Out June 2026 Exclusively On Switch 2

It's just mostly a re-skinned and prettied up 64. Love that game, but this isn't what I wanted from Nintendo. And definitely not from the Starfox IP.

I feel a bit gaslit by people saying this is fine and should be excited for it. Yes prequel added in, yes mouse aim, yes flying and aiming split between even two humans in the same room.

This is still (to me) insert Nintendo game here re-released + shiny graphics "with Wii motion controls". I hope people enjoy it but this is unnecessary when I'd rather have an actual NEW video game. This is not that.

We've had MK World and DK Bonanza since last as new current gen only games. One was excellent the other a dud. Yes Yoshi coming this month. Everything else was "Wii U" over form Switch 1.

Re: PSA: Apex Legends Switch Version Shutting Down This August

@The_Nintendo_Expat dang and I thought I was cynical. We are probably just old and have seen when some of these beloved IPs were at their peak.

I've played MP4 and it's fine.... I love MP1+2 but 4 is more in the realm of 3 and a bit stranger. Hard to say if I suggest it for someone that doesn't like 3.

I personally loved Mario Wonder even though I was skeptical at launch. It's not one of the best 2D Mario games but its much better than anything Nintendo has made in decades.

Yeah my poor F-Zero...feels bad to say it might live or die with 99 which can be a fun time if you play SNES F-Zero. But it is no GX, but no game is and I feel we either get a remaster or they are too scared to touch it because it's borderline the perfect racer.

I think there is a large audience that dislikes aspects of BotW/TotK blandness of open world/emptiness in dungeons. It kind of took the soul of 3D Zelda games and threw it away in many ways. The sad part is those are the two things I enjoyed of those games the most since the story was so bad and the bosses were frankly unfun and annoying. It's not all gloom especially in user sentiment and Nintendo loves Zelda and will keep experimenting plus remastering older games. I'm still waiting for a Link Between Worlds remaster.

Re: Switch 2 Black Friday Deals Are A Bit 'Meh', But Here Are The Best We've Seen

kuu_nousee

If you look for sales of any of the brands there isn't much besides on the PlayStation side this year tbh. And those sales are still muted vs other years with newer games or releases also.

There still are a few options in the US for joycons and pro controllers at select retailed. For Switch 2 it's been as expected or slightly better than it should be for a VERY poor Black Friday sales overall.

My issue isn't with sales honestly is still the Game Key Cards existing for games that shouldn't use them. Outlaws is a great pick up but that's probably it sadly.

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

kuu_nousee

@MSaturn yep right on about every point. If you really think about it it's very on brand for the 'new Nintendo' with piracy take downs and control over their IP. Yeah they do release themselves strictly on game cards but that's only because they get a cut on the price as well they know it will sell better than GKC. 3rd parties unless very inclined will just use GKCs for all their games. Better get used to them, digital or just realize you won't buy many if few games on Switch 2 in its whole lifetime.

Re: Game-Key Cards A "Sales Strategy Decision", Says Resident Evil Requiem Director

Told you in the previous article he wasn't stating the real reason. Also it is a bandwidth problem with game cards vs SD Express and S2 internal storage. It's been exhausting talked about on other forums over the last few weeks.

We will see most if not all 3rd party AAA games strictly GKC just because of that (unless the game's engine doesn't require I believe more than 400mbps that the game cards hit for their limit), not that they really want to but because it's the only way without being digital only on Switch 2.

It's gonna be a hell of a generation for Nintendo to have to skirt answers on the 3 different bandwidth storage limitations for game on Internal, SD Express and Game Cards.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Remake For Switch 2 Slips Into 2026, Game-Key Card Confirmed

kuu_nousee

@topsekret well any non Nintendo AAA games are mostly over 70gb if not reaching 100gb now unless they are smaller/shorter experiences. That's just where AAA games are heading.

Something like Star Wars Outlaws is as well but they brought it down via methods on Switch 2 to about 20-25gb. Currently on my PC it is almost 69gb of space. Not all companies try to compact them down or even CAN. Also Outlaws was made on a proprietary game engine snowdrop. And FF7 games are Unreal so probably also an engine issue it cannot be much smaller in size.

I just checked the Matrix DEMO on PS5 is 26gb. Unreal can bloat game sizes. And that's just a demo.

Does this suck absolute-damn-lutely. But there may not be if any options for FF7 Remake to get on a 64gb game card if it's well over that size. But I would still consider Square cheaping out here if it lands under 64gb digital, seems still something like they'd do.
