I could see Nintendo selling the 2nd gen, backward-compatible, Switch at $399. With BC, they can then keep the OG Switch and OLED on the shelves for $299 and $350 respectively.

@Skunkfish Yes, hoping for that as well. I'm not sure if devs would have to patch those older games to do so though.

They'd be crazy not to. With all of the Switch games still at retail, they would be cutting off a huge revenue stream. Evergreen titles will continue to sell on the Switch 2. There are plenty of Switch games that I've not yet purchased that I would still buy and play on v2.

Would never trade into a retailer. Much more economical to buy secondhand and resell unwanted games on eBay. I only keep the games I suspect I will want to play in the future. Everything else is sold after a play to help fund future purchases.

It's a right decent game, albeit a bit ugly on switch. A better price point and different launch window would've been a boon to sales for sure.

@Gavintendo I have no doubt that this game with be $30 on Black Friday. With just a 4 hour campaign, I'll probably wait for the inevitable $20 price point some time next year.

@sketchturner I picked up Kaze too. Almost bought the physical many times. It would've been worth full price. The only downside is that there are some framerate issues that crop up every once in a while. But if you pause/unpause, it eliminates them. Kinda weird.

@AtlanteanMan Graphical fidelity is one thing, but they can improve framerates. Give us the same level of visual pizzazz, but running at 60fps/1080p.

For the love, just keep it hybrid and name it Switch 2. Then Switch 3. And so on. Sony did get that right.

2012... when Nintendo consoles had parity with the current gen. systems and the ports weren't a giant blur-fest. I'll take a sharp resolution and locked frame-rate over any amount of fancy eye-candy.

There has to be a new mainline Mario game to coincide loosely with the Mario movie. I'm thinking holiday 2023 on that one.

Let's be honest: this will likely run 720p/30FPS with drops docked, and 540p/30FPS with drops handheld. Day one Switch owners are used to this kind of performance. For a long time I was hopeful that devs would prioritize performance over particle effects, but have come to terms with it (and have avoided many games due to it). C'est la vie!

Man, this is going to be a dumpster fire in terms of performance on Switch.

Power Stone is the perfect couch co-op game.

Portal and Klonoa made it a great direct for me.

If they bought Sega, maybe we could finally play a decent Sonic game... wakka wakka.

Tech is impressive, but Nintendo would never go for a hyper-realistic look over a stylized, painterly look. It looks very un-Nintendo to me.

I hope Nintendo acquires EA. Not because I care about EA games, but just for the LOLs.

Tried to play and finish this game so many times, but it never hooked me. Genesis kid, so I have no nostalgia for it at all.

Was looking out for this. Going to have to see how it looks and runs on Switch.

Wouldn't it have made more sense to hold the L bumper when you want to swing your sword? Maybe they will patch in an option to switch it.

This is a fantastic game with some of the best dungeons the series has to offer. QOL improvements are awesome news.

720 handheld is fine. What they really should shoot for is 1080p docked and 60fps in as many games as possible. Framerate > resolution.

Finally sold my Wii U this year. The only two remaining games I was holding out for were Wind Waker/Twilight and it's looking like those might come over this year for Zelda's 35th. An extra $200ish to put toward Switch games.

@Jokerwolf That would be great. I remember seeing some stuttering in early footage, but I'm sure they'll level a lot of that off. Have never played a Monster Hunter game, looking forward to this one.
