Currently on Colossus #13 in Shadow of the Colossus. Picked up Transistor and Song of the Deep on PS Flash Sale... Oops, this is Nintendo Life. Oh, scored a physical copy of rocket league on switch for a cool $17, so I'm sure to fire that up as well. If anyone is interested it's on sale at best buy this week.
@HauntedNostril Exactly. Whenever a great indie hits the eShop now, I hunker down and wait for the inevitable physical release. At the very worst, I'll have a ton of great games to play at the end of the Switch's life.
@thesilverbrick I jumped on snipperclips because it was so early and there wasn't a lot to play. I typically have a hard time paying 20 for a digital game though (15 is about my limit, 10 or lower is a no-brainer for a game I really want) so I was able to hold off on overcooked and rocket league, knowing that there would probably be retail releases at some point. It also helps that I just got a PS4, so there's another library of games to fill in the gaps.
@thesilverbrick It's download only "for now." They've talked about a physical release, but nothing definite. I really wish we could get more day-and-date physical releases. I've held off on so many indies, waiting for the physical. In many cases, it has paid off, most recently with the hint at a Rising Star published Steamworld Dig 2 hard copy.
@AlternateButtons Agree. These were my favorite shrines in the game and probably my favorite Divine Beast. The end boss was a great surprise, the memories were charming (especially the last), and it's a blast to rip around the world on the motorcycle.
@sillygostly I've not played an FE game since the DS entry, so I wasn't aware of other scantily clad characters outside of Camilla, who's heavily featured in all spin-offs and marketing material. I'm not surprised.
Great game. I read that they implemented an NPC that gives you hints as to where the next boss or key item is located. That was my only gripe with the Wii U version.
@Heavyarms55 I bought Little Acorns last night only because I had 60 gold coins that were going to expire this month. I should've waited to register all of my Switch carts...
@Mr_Pepperami The NES and Saturn output pretty much the same native resolution (256 x 240 vs. 320 x 240). I agree, many 32bit games looked better due to improved color palette and more fluid animation, which I think this game also nails. As far as the market for pixel art is concerned, I don't know that we'll ever reach the saturation point because it holds up so well and provides a more cost-effective entry point for small indies.
@Mr_Pepperami That's because all we had back then were fuzzy CRT TVs. Do a side by side with this next to the original Contra and you'll see a huge difference. There's no way the NES could have produced these visuals. The color palette was far too limited. This looks more like something you'd see on the Saturn (compare to Astal or the original Rayman).
Getting serious Turrican vibes from this. Looks pretty cool. Though how will I ever play a Metroidvania without Samus Returns' free aiming? It's game-changing (pun intended).
@iamthesunset Awesome! I actually just bought Decap Attack on eBay (got a great deal) and am waiting for it to arrive. One of the Genesis platformers I never played as a kid, and I'm really intrigued by it. Magical Hat looks pretty cool too... maybe worth an import.
So they dropped a glorified beta back in April and the Switch will get the true v1. Still looking forward to this one a lot. Hope they give us a physical release like they did for the other consoles.
@Sean161 That's not my experience at all. It was nba playgrounds. There is swearing in the game which was not listed in the esrb rating. I pointed this out and they promptly refunded my 20 dollars.
@Sean161 Not true. I received a refund for a Switch eShop purchase in June because the ESRB rating was not accurate. It was actually pretty painless. Just took a phone call to customer support.
Finished this over the course of two sick days and had a really good time. Only 57% complete with a couple of spells and lots of bloodstones left to collect at about 9 hours. This one is priced right and the quality is commendable.

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd March (North America)
Nothing for me. Ni No Kuni 2 is going to demand all of my gaming time for a while. Looks so incredible.
Re: Kirby Star Allies Denied UK Number One Chart Debut By Burnout Paradise
Deserved. It really is a good game. Delivered on my expectations.
Re: Danmaku Unlimited 3 Will Fire Onto Nintendo Switch Next Month
@bilboa Awesome, thanks for the info.
Re: Danmaku Unlimited 3 Will Fire Onto Nintendo Switch Next Month
How playable is the "mode for newcomers"? I love shmups but don't have much tolerance for blistering difficulty.
Re: Review: Little Triangle (Switch eShop)
Really loving the art style of this one.
Re: Brand New Yoku's Island Express Trailer Shows Off Some Quirky Abilities
This one's at the top of my list for Spring.

Re: Harvest Moon: Light of Hope Special Edition Arrives On Switch This May
Coming off of Stardew Valley, and this looks like utter garbage. My Time in Portia is looking like another high quality alternative.
Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Is Getting A Physical Release With Extra Goodies
@justin233 I've stopped buying eShop games above $15 for this reason. I'm banking on Celeste getting a retail release too.
Re: Sega Is Getting Ready To Show Us What's Next For Sonic The Hedgehog
Would personally love a new 2d Sonic with the classic physics but an art style reminiscent of the Wonderboy remake from early last year.
Re: RiME's Developer Has Been "Working Tirelessly" On A New Patch To Fix The Buggy Switch Port
Going to grab it on PS4 instead. I want my physical copy to be relevant after the patch is no longer available for download.

@impurekind True. Epic Yarn is one of my favorite platformers of all time.
Re: Image & Form Will Be Bringing More Games To Switch Next Year
Hoping for a physical release for dig 2. Wasn't that confirmed at one point?

Hm, can't find the switch demos on the shop. Is there a certain time that new releases go live?
Re: Nintendo of America Adds Some Halloween-Themed Switch eShop Discounts
@Dang69 Thanks for the heads up. Won't be fooled this time.
Re: Nintendo of America Adds Some Halloween-Themed Switch eShop Discounts
Time to jump on Phantom Trigger, methinks.
Re: SEGA's Shun Nakamura 'Really' Wants to Make Samba de Amigo for the Switch
So many great Sega IPs being squandered. Would love for them to throw some devs on Nights, Jet Grind, Panzer Dragoon, Burning Rangers, etc.

Re: Review: Ninja Shodown (Switch eShop)
@Turbo857 I foresee a deep discount in the near future.
Re: Review: Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)
@Browny Totally agree. Was somewhat interested until I saw the Camilla reveal. Had enough of the gratuitous cleavage in this series, personally.
Re: Review: Tiny Barbarian DX (Switch)
The glowing review sure didn't read like a 7. Why the disparity?

Re: Golf Story Will Swing Into Action This Week on the Switch eShop
Curious to see what the story is like... also wonder if it's more golf or more story.
Re: Critically Acclaimed Title, Inside, Is Coming to the Nintendo Switch
@MonkiPlays I second that. Having a combo Limbo/Inside physical release on Switch would be amazing.
Re: Nintendo Download: 14th September (North America)
Physical Metroid. Will wait for Earthlock on the Switch.

@iamthesunset What game is in your avatar? Is that Magical Hat (or what we Americans call Decap Attack)?

Re: Capcom Reportedly Gearing Up for Multiple Nintendo Switch Titles
We need a Power Stone 3 on the Switch. It would be perfect for local, pick-up-and-play gaming. Someone make it happen!
Re: Splatoon 2 is Adding "Dualie Squelchers" in Weekend Update
@OorWullie I'd gladly take a Museum d'Alfonsino re-release. That was a great, tight map. My favorite from the first game.
Re: Headup Games Gives Release Details for Three Switch eShop Titles
@Jessica286 Same here. I'll take a lovingly crafted indie over a generic AAA any day.
