We may well have several months to get through before we can dive into Monster Hunter Rise, but Capcom is thankfully easing the pain by sharing a new collection of gameplay videos.
The developer's official YouTube channel has shared no less than six short clips over the past few hours, varying from around 10 seconds to a minute in length. They show off various aspects of the game (the Japanese version, naturally) and can all be found below.
Is it weird that we got most excited about the Palamute customisation clip? We'll definitely be opting for that eye scar mark.
Remember, Monster Hunter Rise launches exclusively on Switch on 26th March 2021. A longer video shared earlier this month gave us a good look at some Great Sword gameplay.

Title should have been '''Capcom Shares Six Short Clips Of TIMED Switch-Exclusive Monster Hunter Rise'' ; )
Can't wait for this game I have to many hours of generations ultimate on the switch
Looks great. Hope the frame rate holds up.
I still don't understand why the main color for the dog is ugly purple. Who would do such a thing.
@BrintaPap Is it confirmed to release on other platforms?
Took us long enough to get a dog person alternative to Felynes/Palicos
@BrintaPap Switch version is the best version because you can be in the same room as your friends who play
@71nk0 The leak confirmed they have plans for only a PC port so far, and probably in a year like with Monster Hunter World.
@jwfurness As far as I can tell it is locked 30 or the most part.
@Jokerwolf if you A have friends and B you are in the same room.
@Jokerwolf yeah there was a leak about pc port but that dont confirmed. And why would capcom bring this game pc? Pc already have better one.
Still needs some sort of voice chat!
@Jokerwolf That would be great. I remember seeing some stuttering in early footage, but I'm sure they'll level a lot of that off. Have never played a Monster Hunter game, looking forward to this one.
@JokerCK This looks better to me as far as gameplay is concerned.
@Mr_Persona it's not all that bad. What baffles me is the size of it. Seems kinda small to be mount for a human being.
@Lord While I completely understand the convenience in voice chat in games I'm super excited that this one won't have it and continue the way of communication as in previous MH games. In my personal experience voice chat invites way to much toxicity and/or getting scolded. What I love about MH games is the hyper focus on teamwork, paying attention more to what's happening in the fight, adjusting to each other's style and backing each other up. I'm not saying that doesn't happen with voice chat though. Just my opinion and if it did have it I'd turn it off like I do with every other game that has it.
@JokerCK
I agree with @Jokerwolf , I love MH and played MHW on pc a lot, but Monster Hunter Rise looks a lot more promising to me.
There is no reason for me to already say that MHW would be "the better one".
@BrintaPap its going to be exclusive to switch only dood.
@71nk0 its only confirmed for switch only.
I'm so excited! The fast paced fighting looks like an awesome change (well at least to recover faster)
@MetalMan Edit: sorry got confused of which article l was at. And l think the size should be bigger. Look very tiny when you ride on him.
At least it's a nice looking dog.
@RiasGremory not true. check the recent leaks.
I'm certain i'm really going to love this game, but the wirebug still bothers me. It's such a weird looking mechanic, like double jumping in Super Ghouls n Ghosts. I wish they couldve found a cooler looking way to add player mobility.
@MetalMan It is a rather big dog (Grand Danois?), but you're right. It does look a bit back breaking to me.
Also can the dog only be blue/purple?
Can't wait to play it on PC since it's not exclusive
@Jokerwolf This is listed for October 2021, so not a year. MHW was also not a year.
@BrintaPap Who cares?
You can interact with the Palicos? Day one, baby!
Two words well one Puppy!!!!!!
If they indeed confirm the PC version then I might wait for that version since the mods will make that version the definitive version to get
I'm curious about the weapon on the hunter in the second clip (emoting with the animal). It looks too small to be a longsword, but I don't see a shield so it's not SnS either...could it be something new? Or maybe it's dual blades stacked onto one another. Hard to tell.
You guys shouldn't believe everything you see on the internet, and should wait until Capcom actually says something about it themselves. Will Rise go to Pc at some point? I dunno, now that I think about it they might as well, at least Switch is actually getting this one.
@BrintaPap what you said makes no sense....
Can we just talk about how Great this game looks on the switch.
Can't wait for this, the lack of voice chat is going to take some getting used to, but it shouldn't be too big a hurdle if it has customisable text prompts.
Lol imma laugh so hard if the rumor of rise being ported to pc ends up being fake news cuz y'all pc bois are gonna end up looking like clowns. If you don't like how the game looks then just keep playing mhw and imo, rise is the most good looking portable mh.
Never played monster hunter bis this game looks damn promising!
@MisterMan dont trust leaks man even capcom has stated that rises was built for switch only.
@RiasGremory it was a hack. I’m inclined to believe this info. Also, the fact that Rise was made for the Switch doesn’t mean it can’t be ported, or enhanced/remastered, for the PC.
Oh good I can actually make my dog be Repede
They can literally do a scaled down version of RE2, 3 and 7😠😠😠 seeing these graphics. It's just money, many details in the other versions can be scales down upon, lower polygon count and it would perfectly fine. Of course it takes time but c'mon. Cloud gaming for 40 to 60 bucks per game ain't for me.
@RustedHero
Solid voice chat communication is required to hunt in a organised cognitive team, communicating attacks and sharing support and learnings.
Not since tri ultimate have I come across players with the capability to work as a cognitive team.
Team cognition is critical to effective teamwork and team performance. The current working definition of team cognition encompasses the organized structures that support team members’ ability to acquire, distribute, store, and retrieve critical knowledge. An ability to share crucial information, and know where in the team unique knowledge resides, allows members to anticipate and execute actions as a unit rather than as individuals. Team cognition emerges through team learning and team member interaction and thus is highly amenable to team training.
@Lord I totally agree with what you said and respect it. It all comes down to personal preference and experience. I personally enjoy the aspect of the game without it because I believe it adds more intensity and drama to the hunt(s). For me it adds a strong randomness to each hunt and forces the team to pay attention to everything that's actually going on instead of people saying this or that and/or getting scolded for not doing something right.
@Jokerwolf A leak doesn't confirm ANYTHING
@serouj2000 Except it was from the Capcom data breach and multiple people in the hacking scene were able to confirm it was a real leak from their trusted sources. There is always the possibility that some is made up of course but this makes sense as they will want to make as much $$ as possible, also it effects you in no way if it releases on PC so don't get to upset.
@Jokerwolf MH4 was also thought to go multiplat.
That never happened
@serouj2000 It is going to PC, they would be foolish not to.
